Good service

It was unfortunate that Mount Fuji was engulfed by the cloud. But I am impressed with the cheerful and polite demeanour of the tour guide and driver,We can really feel their passions in their job! Well done

Response from Host, Oct 2019

Thank you for the generous review. We will make sure the guide and driver receive your message. Look forward for your next visit and hopefully you will be able to see Mount Fuji.

Fun, good staff but not enough seight seeing. Too much time allocated to shopping

celebmysta, Jun 2019
The trip overall was great. The ship cruise was the highlight and Mount Fuji was beautiful to see from all angles. Lunch with Mount Fuji view was unexpected and really good. The down side was that too much time was allocated to the shopping. More time could be allocated to the cruise or going to Hakone, with slightly less time shopping.

Mt Fuji Day Tour

Elaine G, Apr 2019
It was my last day tour in Tokyo and boy did I leave the best to last. The weather was perfect. I scouted out the pick up location before the actual tour as I didn't want to miss out on the tour. It was really well located only a five minute walk from Shinjuku station. I think my only criticism was there were mulitple tour companies collecting people for tours so it was a little confusing to start with. We had a great tour guide in Saki and I so glad I did this tour. The bus took a little over 1 hour 45 minutes to reach Hakone and it was great to see more rural Japan. Our first stop was Hakone's Lake Ashi for a 30 minute pirate ship ride across the volcanic lake. It was fantastic with the appearance of an old Pirate Galleon with the modernity of an engine. You could go up on deck to take the ride up there and the weather was perfect. We then took our tour bus which drove to the other side of the lake to pick us up down to our restaurant for lunch. We were so lucky because the clouds had cleared and as we came down the hill the spectacular Mt Fuji came into view. It was breath taking see her up close. Our restaurant had a panoramic view of Mt Fuji and we had a Shabu Shabu lunch with a variety of Japanese dishes on offer. You could eat as much or as little as you liked. Everyone on the bus was given a discount voucher for the shop attached to the restaurant but there was absolutely no pressure to shop. Due to snow on the road we were unable to go to the 5th station so we went to Miza National Park instead. We again had an unimpeded view of Mt Fuji. After this we drove to the Gotemba Premium Outlets. I was happy to have a look around but it wasn't really the place for me. Some very high end brands/ Overall this was a brilliant day tour and I would thoroughly recommend it.

Full day with lots of great photo opportunities. Unusual and interesting lunch opportunity and of course shopping. It would have topped off the tour if a cable car ride had been included at Lake Ashi but they would have had to reduce the shopping time at the factory outlets so understand that we probably didnt have time. Highly recommend this tour.

The activity is recommended for families. We loved the cruise, the shabu shabu lunch, the trip going to the second station with the views of the majestic Mt. Fuji and of course the shopping at Gotemba. We did not go to the fifth station but then we went to Yeti ski park located at the second station. It was so much fun esp. for first timers as we all rode the sled. It was so nice to play and it felt that we were children once again. We took a lot of family pictures with the Mt. Fuji as our background. Highly recommended We were picked up late at the Gracery Hotel in Shinjuku and were asked to walk about three blocks before boarding the tourist bus. We were not told the reason why, as the guide who fetched us could barely speak and understand English. She was nice but not dressed for the yeti park adventure as she was only wearing pants, a blazer and dress shoes with heels. Our guess was she just pitched in for some tourist guide who did not show up that day She was with another guide, a younger one, but could also speak and understand so little English. Both of them are so disorganized since they do not have a banner nor signage that they could hold up so we would know where to locate them. This took so much of our time just waiting for others and cannot proceed with the activities, since some tourists do not show up on time and these guides have to look for them every time we have to board the bus again. But overall, it was FUN!

The day was cloudy which meant our itinerary changed. This tour was just a shopping centre trip. The only good thing about this was the Shabu-Shabu hot pot and the boat trip on Lake Ashi. The bus took us to a very dilapidated snow resort where the warmest place was in the shop. If you wanted a coffee then walk for 5 minutes in the bitterly cold weather. After we then went for 2 hours to a shopping centre! We didnt want to go shopping- we wanted to see Mount Fuji. We had no commentary from our guide along the way. I would NOT recommend this tour to anyone considering it cost 160AUD.

Overall an enjoyable trip, unfortunately the closure of Mt.Fuji 5th station wasn't expected by the organizer is a bit surprise to me. Are we the only group visiting Mt.Fuji 5th station in that week? There should be a bottle of mineral water given by the organizer unfortunately perhaps everyone too excited and forget about it.

I am satisfied with the tour, as the content is rich enough. I am able to went to Mt. Fuji, Hakone and outlet in just one day, which I think only this tour can make it like this! Because I can not speak Japanese, so I was a little nervous. But there was no problem at all, as the guide has an i-pad for translation service. An interpreter will come out on the screen of i-pad, which is very efficient.

The trip itself was great. Here are the things to remember while going on this trip. The pick up point was far from the Shinkunju station which is huge and complicated and involved considerable walking distance. The tour guides had no knowledge of English and most of the communication was done through an iPad. On the day of the tour, there was rain and it was foggy. So we could not see anything of Mt. Fuji, nothing at all. The Gotemba Premium Outlets were not any attraction to tourists from the USA and prices were not cheap either. We still enjoyed the trip though.

Katherine D, Sep 2017
I booked this tour because of the rave reviews, especially where it stated that the tour guides spoke English. First of all, no one spoke English. They had interpreters on an iPad and they didn't even speak English very well which meant that we couldn't even ask our guide any questions. I booked the pirate ship tour because I thought it would be more enjoyable for my 8 year old granddaughter. The ride was maybe 20 minutes and we had to stand because there were not enough seats. There was another room full of seats available for an additional 5 per person. During the lunch portion of the tour, the guides took us to a buffet style restaurant where you cooked your own food at your table. We had no idea and only were able to figure that out by watching other people in the restaurant. All of the food was labeled in Japanese and we were basically lost because our tour guides could not help us. We were unable to see Mt. Fuji due to the fog, which was not their fault. We did get some pictures though. The outlet mall was disappointing. None of the stores offered any Mt. Fuji souvenirs. Instead, they were just normal stores that you could find at any mall in the US. I would not recommend this trip.

the overall trip is fine. Unfortunately the day that we visit Mt Fuji was raining heavily so we are not able to have any chance to have a good view of the Mt Muji accept we can only have a little feel of the cold air and everything is just so cloudy. For Lunch - Pork Shabu Shabu we think that the time given is a little too rush and we should have a little more time so that we can really enjoy the hotpot!

Jennifer L, Aug 2017
Very disappointed with this tour and not recommend this tour to any one. First of all the tour guide spoke no English which made the entire tour very frustrating. Ever one on this tour were English speaking . The guide tried to use video translation which worked a few times but it definitely not the same as having an English speaking guide. There was no introduction , we don't even know her name. We could have done this trip all on our own without the guide. Secondly, when advertising a tour with a visit to Mt Fuji 5th Station, You need to specify WHICH 5th station is being visited, as there are many. The Mount Fuji 5TH station that we stopped at was a visit to a PARKING LOT with a hiking trail. It should have been name a Hiking trip. OK, Mt Fuji was yes behind the clouds but that is not what I expected. Let me clarify, we visit Mt Fuji 5th station 2 years ago with a tour that Viator offered and it was an excellent tour. This time we though we would try a different Mt Fuji 5th station tour but to our surprise it was not worth it. Again as the guide spoke no English, we were basically on our own. The Pirate ship ride was just a ferry ride, again we could have done this on our own. The Shopping trip was OK ...a shopping trip. The only good thing about this tour was the buffet lunch at there restaurant. Definitely a tour not worth the time or money.

This day trip is highly recommended! Gathering location is near Shinjuku station, which is extremely convenient. The tour bus and guide bring us to have sightseeing in Mt. Fuji and Hakone directly, and of course back to Shinjuku station after the tour. Therefore we can join with no worry and no need to plan in advance. I will still join other tours next time.

I think this tour is a wonderful tour that can take you to many great sightseeing spots efficiently within a day. The bus which I had ride on was a relaxing large bus. The scenery from the Hakone pirate ship was awesome, I am really satisfied with this sightseeing spot. After that you can have a all-you-can-eat pork shabu-shabu hotpot as lunch! There are Udon noodles and other vegetables as well. Ice-cream and soft drinks are available, it was really good! Besides, I also went to the Mt.Fuji New 5th Station and I was able to see a wonderful scenery here! Finally I also went to Gotemba Premium Outlets and enjoyed shopping for a while. Mt. Fuji can also be seen here just nearby. I think other tour suppliers do not offer such rich content one day tour as this one, therefore I would like to recommend this one to everyone.

Bianca Vanessa L, Jun 2017
A lot of time spent on the bus, the 2 Japanese tour guides did not say a single word , lunch was an hour late(because restaurant wasn't ready) and because of that , they announced that there was only an hour left for the Gotemba outlets. The worst tour ever which is sad bec we love Japan.

Hello, this tour was a complete...

Bees, Jun 2017
Hello, this tour was a complete letdown. Me and my family wife, 6yr old daughter and 5yr old son were very excited about going on this tour and were extremely disappointed during and after. The tour started out completely disorganized and never got any better. There was no clear indication when we got to the assigned meeting location or where to gather as a group or any instructions given. The tour started later than scheduled. The tour guides were absolutely horrendous! They gave no details, instructions or even talked or interacted with the tour group. They never once, told the group where we were going for each destination, how long it would take, any information about any of the sights that we visited or even introduced themselves. They were essentially pointless. The pirate ship was so crowded that we couldn't find seats together for our family. There was no room to stand outside to enjoy the views and when we were forced to stand inside, you could not see anything of substance out the window. Then when we finally got to Mt. Fujii which we were most excited to visit, I asked them how long we could stay to take pictures and explore a little and they said 12mins! 5-10minutes of which the entire tour group spent using the bathrooms at Fujii since the bathroom on the bus was off limits and we had some very long rides between sites. Then we were rushed back on the bus after 12mins and taken to the restaurant that we prepaid for lunch. When we arrived in the restaurant parking lot, we sat there for 10-15mins with no indication from the tour guides as to why we were all sitting on the bus. I asked them what was happening and they said that the restaurant was not ready for our group and we would have to sit on the bus for another 40mins! So, we sat on the bus for almost an hour total, in a parking lot BUT were rushed out of Mt. Fujii after only 12mins! When we finally got into the restaurant there were no seats together for a me and my family 4 people. We found an open table on the other side of the restaurant but while I was in line getting food for my kids, we were told that we were not allowed to sit there. By this time we had been waiting for a lunch that we had already paid for for over 1 hour and still had no where to sit. I told the tour guides, we were leaving and I took my family to a Lawson down the road and put them food that we then ate in the parking lot until we could get back on the bus. This was easily the worst experience that me and my family have had. We've done tours with other tour companies and they were fantastic. I feel that this was not only a waste of almost 450 but of our time a full Saturday. We live in Tokyo but my family is leaving for 6months, during which we will not see each other. We were really hoping that this trip would be a great way to spend one of our last days together. We were completely wrong! -John

This tour is fantastic, gives a little bit of everything... The view of Lake Ashi and its surrounding was fascinating. The wave of clouds from Mt. Fuji 5th station was awesome plus we are already almost at the top snow cap of Mt. Fuji. The buffet was a rush and our time at Gotemba was really short. Never travel to Japan during the golden week 1st week of May coz there were too much local and foreign tourists plus traffic is really worse.

VeredS_C, May 2017
Don't book this trip on Golden Week!!!! What was supposed to be a 11hr trip turned out to be at least 15hrs, as we were stuck in traffic just trying to get to Lake Ashi. Our host was very friendly and accommodating. My primary criticism is that she doesn't tell you that the Lake Ashi portion was a one way ride. We stayed on the boat for the return trip, only to see her and some of the people in the tour walking away from the Pirate Ship. There was no instructions beforehand, nor an announcement that we were supposed to get off. The buffet was terrible! I had better food at an All You Can Eat Buffet in the US, i'm talking about the Midwest section of the US, and not the good ones. Mt Fuji 5th Station was well worth the wait! The weather was warm, the sun was out, and the picture taking options were plenty. This spot really showcased the mountain well!! As for the Premium Outlets, I already knew from the reviews that it wasn't gonna be a lot of time. However because we were stuck in traffic for 3 hrs at the beginning of the tour, we only had 1 HOUR at the Premium Outlets. Some people in our group were upset, but we got to the outlets around 7pm and left a little after 8pm. So by that time, most of us just wanted to go home!

Firstly the tour guides were fantastic. The advert for this tour specifically stated English not guaranteed, the two lovely Japanese guides spoke perfect English, as well as giving great insight and advice into traveling in Japan. The individual activities were both fun, memorable and spent a good amount of time at each. Unfortunately what you can't rate is the group of individuals that go on theses tours, some ruin the trip for everyone by being late to the specifically set meeting points. You can't change that. Great experiences for a great price. We individually added up the prices of each activity and it was well worth it. Lunch was also interesting, traditional Japanese cuisine where you cook it yourself at your table. Thank you to our beautiful guides who kept all 34 of us on time and were more than willing to answer any questions we had.

The kids enjoyed sledding, although it wasn't on Mt. Fuji as advertised. The pirate ship was also enjoyable. The area is beautiful and serene. I could do without the outlet shopping.
