We booked this tour because the website makes it seem as though you can tell the driver where you want to go in the Mount Fuji area. While our driver was accommodating and took us to where we wanted to go, the day started with him telling us the five stops we were going to make.
A half hour before our tour was to begin, Muhammad from Karvaan contacted us to let us know that our tour had to be cancelled. We were given the option to rebook, which we were able to do for the following day. Thanks Muhammad!
Our driver Amir was wonderful! He was very knowledgeable about the tight roads on our route. He told us how much time we had at each location so that we were able to see everything we wanted. And for those who do not prefer small talk, he will speak minimally unless spoken too.

Nice relaxing way to explore Hakone around mt. Fuji. Our driver, Honey, picked us up from our hotel and drove us around to different spots. He contacted us the day before to verify our hotel for pickup. We drove to various spots that were very pretty even without Fuji due to the rainy and cloudy weather. He asked us what we wanted to do at different points so you can customize the trip to your liking and go at your pace.

Driver/tour guide is same person. It was reasonably priced & we were in a new cozy minivan. Shaizhab was responsible, respectful, and accomodating. He was also very kind and personable. I was hesitant with a non local but he has lived here 7 years & embedded in the culture. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel and went to four stops not including lunch. The only downside is the traffic getting back which was out of his control. I would add more time to the tour to add Hakone as it is a long day anyways or get earlier start. We started at 8 am. If you’re expecting a lot of history, chatting this is not the right tour. The convenience, door to door service and seeing all the beautiful sites made it a worthwhile trip

Ok, so we are 3/4 thru this tour and I felt compelled to write this before it was even over. 1st the driver showed up and asked us where we are going. Not a good sign. 2. Our tour guide is Pakistani and hardly spoke English or Japanese. I am sorry to say this but he could have used deodorant. I feel bad saying this but I have been stuck in a car with him for 4 hours. He took us to a Pakistani restaurant of course. When we asked to go elsewhere he didn’t know other restaurants that were open. When we finally found one who couldn’t communicate on our behalf to the waitress. Honestly Andy Kauffman character “The Foreign Man” was more verbal. We learned so little from this guide. I wouldn’t recommend this tour. It nice to be driving around but half of your stops are tourist traps.

This was the last tour of our or two week family vacation to South Korea and Japan.. i’ve now come to believe that this tour to Mount Fuji is designed to be a driver service rather than a i personal tour of the sites after experiencing it and revisiting the tour information and other reviews.
Our driver, Ali, called me at 9 PM the night before the tour, which I thought was late. He picked us up at 9 AM. This tour was scheduled to be a 10 hour tour. We discussed the tour on the way to Mount Fuji, which was a long drive, and we relied on Ali’s advice and expertise. Ali advise that we dropped the first scheduled stop, station 5, since he advised that the views were the same at other sites and that stop consume two hours of the trip. Since I read in the information that during hiking season station 5 is dropped from the tour, we agreed.
The vehicle was clean and comfortable, however, my wife and daughter said it smelled of cigarettes, I didn’t notice. I got the impression that the vehicles were personal vehicles and not company vehicles, however, I don’t know.
Ali took excellent portrait photographs with scenic views. I asked him if there was a trick to it and why he did it the way he did, which was unique, He shared with me the trick. I don’t know if it is j his unique method, or the Tours companies, but it works very well, i’m not going to revealing any secrets here.
Ali’s English was fine, with a Pakistan accent. We were surprised that the Tours was led by a foreigner rather than a native Japanese guide with knowledge and experience of the area and the country.
Ali would take us to a tour site and in some cases explain a little bit about the site, basic information, and drop us off to explore ithe area our self’s and tell us when to be back to the vehicle. On other tours, I’ve taken with Viator the tour guides would accompanying us and explained about the site its history and its significance, etc.
If you want a tour in which the guide accompanies you and explains the history and significance of the site rather than just drive you to it, maybe you would want to find another tour service operator.

Abdul was great with his pre-tour communication and was punctual and thoughtful suggesting an earlier start to minimise time spent in heavy traffic. He regularly gave us options regarding stopping points along the way.
The vehicle was very clean and comfortable so all in all, our trip to Mt. Fuji was a terrific success.
He even arranged perfect visibility and hot weather!!

If you are expecting "Private Tour" with an English speaking tour guide who will share information about the places you are visiting, the history or even the best locations to view or even photograph from then you are going to be very badly disappointed. There was no 'guide' only a driver who drove erratically like a Sydney taxi driver, no music or entertainment in the vehicle. Basically, all you are getting is a basic taxi service to pick you up and chauffeur in as lazy a way as possible between some of the listed itinerary locations. While there was some information given and a couple of interactions where timing and places to be visited were discussed, it was difficult, uncertain and inaccurate. This was one of three tours we pre-booked and for two of the three it would appear this is half arsed taxi service by a foreign driver with partial English is the new business model.

Kashif was our driver and he worked hard to give us the best day that started very cloudy but did eventually reveal Mt Fuji. He was accommodating but knew where best to go. We enjoyed his company. The minivan was a bit tight for 6 people as one middle seat wasn’t really good for an adult and it was a pretty old vehicle. Only feedback I would give is that while we were keen to get back to Tokyo in good time we didn’t mean for the driver to hurry quite so much and speed at times.

The trip had to be cancelled on the foreseen date due to some sudden justified circumstances on the side of Viator, but they were flexible enough to reschedule for the next day. The guide Tahseen knew the best spots and time slots to watch Mt Fuji, and dropped us at the place we wished when returning to Tokyo

We booked a guided tour with a private guide and a special pick up location. We liked the flexibility, that there was no rush, waiting for others. Everything was fitted to our preferences and visiting all highlights. Our tour guide was very friendly and experienced.

The scenery was beautiful. However, our guide did not speak. There was no explanation of what we were seeing or what to expect at our destinations. He did not communicate and we often had to wait up to 20 minutes for him to pick us up from the stop. There was no water in the vehicle for us, which has always been standard. We have used Viator when we travel quite often and recommend the service to our friends. However, this experience was the worst we have ever had and will be rethinking our approach in the future.

We had such an amazing Mt. Fuji tour and a big part of it was thanks to our awesome driver, Mian! He was super professional, friendly, and easy to talk to — his fluent English really made the whole experience smooth and comfortable.
We were traveling with a young child, and Mian was so patient and accommodating with our schedule and any requests. He really went out of his way to make sure we were relaxed and enjoying the trip at our own pace.
On top of that, Mian has great local knowledge and shared interesting info along the way. And he was more than happy to help us take photos at every stop. We can’t be more pleased with his excellent service!

Driver ( Usman ) was very kind , friendly and understanding. However we were disappointed by the car sent, we were promised Toyota Alphard or Toyota vellfire , however what we got was run down Nissan van, honestly it was the oldest car on the road. We as a family felt cheated , I had expected better from Viator

Wonderful sights! The driver, Malik is an excellent driver and I felt safe with his smooth driving abilities. Comfortable clean car. However, don't expect him as a tour guide, his job is a driver. Only negative was the restaurant for lunch- personnel yelling at each other, impatient server, average food at a high price. Ice cream stop was terrific.

We were picked up on time from our hotel on a clean and spacious vehicle which easily fit the six of us. The drive to Mt Fuji was quick and we were free to spend as much time as we wanted at the various spots and our driver Kashif was happy to take any requests for places we wanted to visit and was very friendly. Overall was a great experience for the price we paid.

Our family had an amazing time visiting Mt Fuji and all the sites around it. Waqas was our driver and guide, who I would highly recommend to anyone looking to see Mt Fuji. Waqas adjusted to our schedule and made sure we had time to experience the sites. He also took amazing pictures of us along the way. Waqas spoke perfect English, was very polite and a good driver.
