Exact transportation costs can be discussed with the guide after a reservation is finalized. Please have Japanese Yen on hand for your transportation costs. Hideki san was an amazing guide. He was incredibly knowledgable and easy to understand. While planning our time together he helped me understand the various areas things I wanted to see were in. He designed a great tour for us. We had a delicious fresh seafood lunch, and yummy Japanese treat. He even helped me interpret with shopkeepers and my fortunes from the temples. I cannot recommend him enough!

We very much enjoyed our tour with Izumi. He went out of his way to accommodate us and also provided an overview of the sites we could visit on our own while in Tokyo. Unfortunately, we booked the tour on a day when the Imperial Palace was closed, so instead he took us to Tokyo Tower. It was an unexpected stop and fun place to visit!

We had a great tour of Tokyo with our Guide Mr. Takeshi Yamada. We requested an evening tour of Shinjiku and Shibuya, and wanted to have an authentic Japanese Wagyu dinner. Yamada-San curated a tour that went above and beyond this itinerary. We had a chance to observe the People of Tokyo as they went about their lives, which was fascinating. We took the trains to get from the cruise terminal to our destinations, which was a great experience. The overall experience and dinner were wonderful. It was great to meet and get to know Yamada-San, and we thank him for a great tour!

Hideki was, without question, my favorite guide during my month-long trip in Japan.
He is an amazing, kind, and genuinely thoughtful gentleman. Before guiding, he had a successful career at a major conglomerate in Tokyo, with experience in business development and marketing, and you can immediately tell that he brings a level of professionalism, perspective, and depth that goes far beyond a standard tour.
What makes Hideki special is that he does this because he truly enjoys it. He told me, “You can use ChatGPT to get all the history, but it’s my job to explain what it can’t.” That perfectly sums up the experience. He did not just point things out or recite facts. He added context, judgment, personality, and a real human understanding of Japan that you simply would not get from a guidebook or online search.
The morning of our tour, I told him I wanted to completely change the plan. Not only did he accept it, he took it as a challenge and immediately sprung into action. A few hours later, I was completely off the beaten path in a place that would never show up in travel guides or magazines. We ate locally, and it ended up being the best lunch I had in Tokyo. We walked around, bantered, explored, and had an amazing time.
Being with Hideki felt less like being on a tour and more like spending the day with an old friend or a fun uncle who happens to know Tokyo incredibly well. His knowledge, friendliness, calm demeanor, and willingness to go above and beyond made the day unforgettable.
I could not recommend Hideki more highly. If you book with him, you are lucky to have his time. Treat him well.

Had a great tour with Takako! She reached out before the tour to understand our priorities for the day and customized an itinerary for us. We were able to see all the planned sites and had time to stop for snacks, shopping, and a nice lunch. Through the private tour we were able to see many of the “must see” sights in Tokyo. Our guide allowed us the opportunity to customize the proposed itinerary to see several places of special interest to us. He met us at the hotel and made getting around using the train network quite easy. We made time for an informal lunch at a restaurant he recommended and it was excellent. My only complaint was that he was difficult to understand at times. He was very organized and efficient, communicating with us before the trip and upon our arrival in Tokyo.

Haru knows Tokyo, we asked for a different tour, not the usual places that are in all the guide books. We ended up in a Japanese neighborhood (his neighborhood), visited a library and Maguro Sky
Garden, lunched at a restaurant that rarely sees westerners (like maybe never). We went to the top of the Carrot and walked narrow alleys. All in all, a most unusual way to see Tokyo, exactly what we wanted.

Guide was from outside Tokyo. Took us to places we could easily find on our own and not interesting. Had trouble navigating the Metro station. We didn't more time walking through stations than learning anything we had not already read in the guide book. He walked much too fast fast ahead of us in hot weather paying no attention to my 76yr old husband's pace. Waste of our time and $$ and not enjoyable or informative.

Thank you for your review! We do not suggest walking tours for those that have difficulty walking and to cover all the sites you would like to see, you would need to go at a rather brisk pace. However, we agree that the guide should walk with you and offer to change plans if you are not able to cover as much as you originally thought. We planned our trip with Ted well beforehand. He guided and helped us in our choices to ensure the day would go smoothly, which it did.. We had a great day seeing all the main attractions in Tokyo, we couldn't have covered as much doing it on our own. Ted made very light work of the train and metro system which we were grateful for. He was very knowledgeable, well prepared, punctual and took us to a lovely place for lunch.
We enjoyed his company and he gave us a good overview of Tokyo.
