A great experience / Atsushi was incredibly knowledgeable and we had a brilliant tour with him. Really well organised - went out of his way to advise and help us. The tour was bespoke to us and the use of our limited time in Tokyo was perfect. Would do it again and with our guide.

Yuki was an excellent guide. We chose a few sites, and then she gave us suggestions as well to meet our interests. She was very kind and we learned so much from her. It was a great experience that I highly recommend for any first-time travelers to Tokyo/Japan.

Highly recommend this tour for first time visit to Tokyo. Our guide Atsushi took great care to acclimate us with navigating through busy train stations efficiently with a group of eight family members. Along the way and at each site he explained various cultural practices and associated histories that made the tour very immersive and enjoyable. We will highly recommend Atsushi and Viator to our family and friends for future tours.

This was an excellent tour. Yoshi is a warm and friendly person who knew the histories a d the trains and the sites. He kept us moving and entertained and had a great folder full of information. We had communicated before the tour regarding what we wanted to see and Yoshi came prepared …even including printouts of the map routes and the architecture we wanted to see. Amazing. And for the historical sites, he knew all the history and relayed it all in a way that made it easy to understand and appreciate. He also took us to out of the way …including a great sweets job out of the way that had delicious sweets and cold tea in an amazing building. He was fantastic. Highly recommend! Five stars.

Masa san is extremely knowledgeable and lovely company. My 13-yr-old daughter and I had a great day walking around the sites we had picked with him. He tooks his time to explain all the history and then kindly walked us to the spot of our next booking as it was quite confusing. I would very highly recommend him. Of all the tours we did in Tokyo Masa Sam was my favourite tour guide.

Komaki reached out immediately after we booked to inquire about the sites we were interested in seeing. She then provided a detailed itinerary and asked if it looked ok and was open to any changes we may have had. On the day of our tour, Komaki arrived early and spent a few minutes getting to know each of us before we departed. Throughout the day she shared insightful information about Japan and each site, gave us tips on riding public transportation, and overall an amazing tour guide! A Wonderful First Introduction to Tokyo
My husband and I booked a 6-hour private walking tour with Tatsuki Endo for our first-ever visit to Tokyo (and to Japan), and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Tatsuki is a Tokyo native who made many trips to and from the US over the course of his career as an engineer in the oil and gas industry, before retiring — and rather than slow down, he channeled his energy into guiding, sharing his deep knowledge of the city and Japanese history with visitors like us.
What stood out most was his enthusiasm and how well he communicated. He was genuinely excited to show us around, explained things clearly, and his stories brought the history and culture of Tokyo to life in a way we never could have experienced on our own. As first-timers with no frame of reference, having a guide who was so knowledgeable, articulate, and passionate made all the difference in helping us understand and appreciate the city.
We'd highly recommend Tatsuki to anyone visiting Tokyo who wants more than just a walk past the sights — he offers real insight, clear explanations, and infectious energy along the way.

Tokyo is an absolutely amazing city! Since this was our first time visiting Japan, and we only had one day in Tokyo before embarking on our cruise, we wanted to make the most of it. We are so glad we spent the day with Masa. Navigating such a massive city could easily have been overwhelming, but Masa guided us seamlessly to see so much of Tokyo. This tour was a wonderful experience. Sayumi-San (Sam) was an absolutely amazing tour guide. She met me at my hotel and was a complete professional from the word ‘go.’ We did a good amount of walking to the sights/sites and rode the train to some places that were farther away from each other. Sam was very knowledgeable about the history of Japan and the places we visited. She was very respectful of my interests and curated a tour that fit well with what I wanted to see. I can’t say enough wonderful things about her and the tour.
The six hour tour included lunch. I recommend bringing water, though, while walking around and bringing a hat or small umbrella because the sun can be brutal. Finally, wear comfortable shoes.

Excellent tour with a wonderful guide - Sam.
Sam was professional and personable and helped us tailor the experience y including a tour of the fish market and lunch at his favorite sushi restaurant. Tour was great - good pace and Sam is extremely knowledgeable and willing to answer all our questions- overall a 5 star experience!!

It was our first time to Japan. Mitch was a great guide, recommending the key sights in Tokyo. He contacted us before the trip so that he could set up an itinery that worked for our family. We had a great time and we did a lot of walking. The places I chose happened to be in opposite ends of Tokyo but , Masa accommodated my list. Masa walked us through, explained traditions, and informed us of the history. This tour was very informative. We had a great time, even in the rain.

We were lucky enough to have Sammy as our guide. He was super organised, knowledgable, respectful and fun! He tailored a great itinerary to suit our needs with everything running on time. Gave is a great restaurant recommendation for lunch and entertained the kids. He also created lovely photo album for us. Well worth it! A great way to see Tokyo and highly recommend.

Our private tour of Kyoto was an unforgettable experience from beginning to end. We met Kate yesterday for our first day in Tokyo but I actually started working with her months ago when I purchased this tour. We emailed several times back & forth so she helped me come up with several different itineraries and choose the one that best fit our family. Even though it was a rainy day, we made the most of it & had an awesome first day getting to see the city, learning about their culture & how to get around, especially using our suica card in the subway. This tour is amazing and Lance was such a great guide. my mother is handicapped and Lance researched the best ways to use the train stations always found us an elevator or ramp. He knew so much about the Japanese culture and history. His English was very strong and easily understood. The temples and markets were beautiful. Two things that really made Lance stand out as a great guide was when we went to the offering area at one of the temples Lance didn't want us to miss out because we didn't have a coin so he provided on for each of us. The second thing was I asked a question that he wasn't sure the answer to, but after the tour I was surprised to see a message from Lance answering my question. He did not gain anything from this I had already paid and tipped him it really just reflected how amazing and dedicated to his job Lance was.thank you Lance for making our tour of Japan so special.

We had a 6 hour private tour of Tokyo with our guide Fummy, and we had the best day. Fummy tailored the itinerary to what we were most interested in seeing, and planned the whole day for us. We learned so much about Japanese history and culture from him in between our stops while riding the subway or train around Tokyo. Fummy was a cheerful and friendly guide to spend the day with and my son and I enjoyed our day with him immensely. It was a fantastic first day in Tokyo for us.

Atsushi-san was an incredibly well-researched and friendly tour guide. His knowledge allowed us to explore and get to the historical significance of the various locations we visited. His explanations were simple but comprehensive. The six hours flew by and included some off-the-beaten opportunities including coffee at a very austere but memorable location near the fish market. I would highly recommend him as well as this tour for anyone with limited time in Tokyo wanting see as much as possible

Haru was an excellent tour guide. He was extremelyknowledgeable and provided a lot of very useful and interesting information during our tour. He communicated with me multiple times via email to design an itinerary that was desired by my family. My family wanted to focus our tour in one particular area and he was able to create a schedule that was very workable.We were not rushed, and he allowed us to explore the areas, but also kept us on the schedule.
