Our driver and guide was Harry - he was excellent to work with and he did a great job guiding us through the various viewpoints of Mt Fuji. The day was completely clear and we were able to get morning and afternoon photos and experiences around Mt. Fuji. Some iconic photos and an extra adventure to the ice cave at the end of the day (not for those that don't enjoy small spaces ;). Highly recommend this tour and if you can get Harry as your guide, he was friendly, helpful and efficient at getting to the top spots and showing us where to get the best views etc.

Avoid. Do not take. the driver didn’t show up for the ride we had paid for. fake email, fake website and 2 phones Numbers that does not responding. The worst of it, Viator just says they felt sorry for us. No support and no help for replacement. They just says they will send a refund request to this inaccessible tour operator. Good luck

Rana confirmed our pick-up time the night before and kept us informed of his whereabouts the next morning. He arrived on time in a luxurious sedan with water and snacks available. He was an excellent driver who knew the route well and was informative about the sites we were seeing. He was pleasant and added to our enjoyment.

Mount Fuji trip

Mountain Fuji is often not visible. It was a cloudy day so visibility was limited. However our guide Ali endeavored to make our day most enjoyable. We saw all the other experiences on the itinerary. Ali was very attentive to our needs and keen to make sure we were happy with our experience.

Best tour for Mt Fuji

Complete tour and experience, it takes you to the most important sightseeing spots near Mt Fuji. Private tour is really comfortable and the tour guide is really cool. Highly recommended if you want to visit lakes and temples.

Try a different tour company

We felt disappointed with the communication from the tour provider. We were not told that if we left at 830am we would only get to go to 2 or 3 places from the list of 7 places shown in the tour details. If we had known this, we would have left earlier to see more places. In any event, the driver arrived 30 minutes late so we left at 9am. We paid extra for the VIP vehicle but it did not feel very luxury and was dirty inside. We were not offered the Wi-Fi service that was included, but to be fair we did not ask. Mount Fuji was amazing and we are happy we saw it. Overall we were expecting more and felt disappointed by the vehicle, poor communication and the driver who did not say much at all.

Great tour to Experience Japan

Great service, great views and personal attention to detail

My wife and I booked this trip with a focus on seeing Mt Fuji and the surrounding areas when the weather was nice and we hit it perfectly. Our driver Rana showed up early and had a great car for us with water and snacks provided. Our journey included a stop at a roadside refreshment center where we were able to stretch our legs, get a restoom break and see some souvenir shopping. It was just what we needed. The next stop was for some perfect shots of the sacred mountain Fuji. The hike was demanding but worth every step to get great photos on a perfect day. We then stopped at a phenomenal temple, a great lake area, then had lunch at the most authentic Japenese resturant that we have visited . While there we sampled great cuisine and traditional tatami dining in a local family owned resturant before being returned to our hotel. It was a fantastic day. Rana not only saw to our every need, but was very knowledgable about the areas we visited and the history associated with it. It was truly enjoyable! His knowledge of Japan was great, and we were able to get other ideas for things to do on our vacation to explore Japan. The part of our tour that showed even more of Rana's dedication to our care happened after the tour was over. I left a very expensive set of Bose headhones in his car by accident. He not only found them, but sent them to me overnight from his home to our hotel, at his expense. This was going far beyond normal customer service expectations! We express our sincerest gratitude and appreciation for going well above what anyone would expect. Thanks again Rana for taking great care of us and setting the bar high for tours in Japan!

Wonderful experience

The tour was great! The itinerary hit a lot of great spots with beautiful views of Mt. Fuji. We got very lucky with the weather and got an extremely clear view of Fuji. Our tour guide Awais was friendly, knowledgable about the sites, and flexible with our wishes. We spent an extra hour at Chureito Pagoda to wait in line for the iconic view, and he was very accommodating and still got us through the rest of the itinerary. My family and I had a great time, especially on the speedboat ride on Lake Kawaguchiko! Definitely a memorable experience.

Great trip to Mt Fuji and the Cherry Blossoms

The tour itinerary was excellent and covered a bunch of spots with beautiful views of Mt Fuji and the Cherry Blossom Trees. The tour guide was great. He picked us up on time and was very clear on where we were going and how long it would take so we know what to expect. The car and the driving was very comfortable. He was able to take us to a great lunch spot which my whole family loved. It was a great day of siteseeing outside of Tokyo!

Viator and tour operator failed to show up

we booked the tour and paid the $500 and elected the pick up at our hotel option for 8: 30 am . We waited from 8 am to 9 am and no one from tour company showed up > When we called the tour operator ,he lied and said they called me to reschedule to the following day but my phone did not take calls . Both lies as people had been calling me and got through and there was no calls on the call history log of the phone . The tour operator then offered to pick us up at noon but since it was a 8 hour tour we would get half our money back . My iphone has the record the call option so I activated it and it warns the other party the call is being recorded . He questioned why I was recording the call . I said I wanted a full refund for non performance as the tour guide did not show up to pick us up . He finally admitted the driver could not make it and he had no other tour guides. He then hung up on me and would not take my calls. I Googled Viator customer service as their number is not listed on their ads or website . The Viator rep gave me a deposition and did not believe my reasons for wanting a refund. She put me on hold and called the tour operator who authorized the refund ( the recording was evidence) > The Viator rep then offered to sell me another tour and airport transport services as we were leaving Tokyo the next day . After several declines to buy another tour she reluctantly agreed to refund me and said it would take two weeks to get my refund. Avoid this tour and Viator !

Very convenient and comfortable tour

Wonderful tour! Very comprehensive, convenient and well organized. Our tour guide Rana was very professional and the tour very well put together. He got in contact the day before to verify pick up time and location at our hotel near Tokyo bay. The car and driving style was very comfortable and luxurious including snacks and water. He made adjustments to the itinerary based on weather conditions sonwe could fit in a speed boat tour of lake Kawaguchi and avoid the crowds/lones for the cable car. He was very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and suggested a great place for lunch that we loved esp since my wife and I are vegetarian. He had good suggestions and tips for getting around Tokyo since the tour was in our first day and we didn't know a lot about the train system. He also took great photos of us. He provided good information on all the points of interest and what we should check out at the different stops.The tour is flexible and adjustments can be made and he dropped us back of downtown since we had dinner plans.

Trip to Mt. Fuji area

We chose this tour to have more flexibility with time and to see Mt. Fuji area with private guide and driver. Aswai didn’t disappoint. He took us to lovely small villages where is usually good view of the mountain. He also organised for us small boat ride on the Lake Kawasaki, which I highly recommend. Unfortunately weather wasn’t on our side and the mountain was all day in clouds. But we still enjoyed our trip.

Not what we signed up for

Do not take this tour. It’s called « Mt Fuji and Cherry Blosom tour with English speaking driver » and none of that happens or is true.. The young « guide » from Pakistan tried his best and was sweet, but his English was very limited. - we could not have a conversation - I don’t blame him, I blame the manager/company. We didn’t find out we weren’t going to Mt Fuji until an hour or more into the ride. And weren’t taken to see cherry blossoms either. We should have been told we weren’t going to do any of this before the tour so we could have had the option to cancel. And interestingly - we found many cherry blossoms the next few days on our own. A waste of time and a lot of money for this « private » tour and a whole day of driving unable to communicate. I guess we thought in Japan we’d have a Japanese person teach us a bit about the places we were going on an expensive private tour.

Underwhelming and Disappointing

This tour was poorly done from the start. Dav messaged and called me the night before to change the time to an earlier start. Dav provided no reason or rationale as to why he wanted to change our start time from 9 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.. We declined and stuck to our start time. In the morning, he advised us he had arrived but we did not see him at our hotel. Only once we called him and asked him to come to the lobby, did he came to the front to pick us up.. He did not introduce himself but rather told us the destinations of the day. He took us to each stop and provided little to zero explanation of any of the sites we stopped at forcing us to google things ourselves. He did not communicate effectively nor provide us with a rough itinerary of what we were doing at any point in time. He did not notify us of lunch or a time for lunch at our second stop so we took it upon ourselves to grab lunch. Once we got into the car, he suggested a restaurant for lunch at the next stop, which we said no to as he never communicated we were having lunch at any stop and had just finished eating. It appeared he was more interested in socializing with his colleagues, as opposed to showing us around. At the last stop (Oishi) he appeared to be more engaging however, spending the entire today together, you would expect more from someone taking you place to place as your tour guide. Driving us back, he appeared to be very tired and frustrated as he was sighing loudly. He dropped us off at the side of the hotel and didn’t bother to pull up to the main entrance. This was by far one of the worst experiences we have ever had with any “tour guide”. For this company in particular, we strongly suggest you change the wording of your tour to something different. It does not appear to be a tour with a tour guide, but rather transportation from point a to point B. As first time travellers to Japan this was very poorly done and left a less than positive experience on this adventure. We would not recommend this to anyone travelling to Japan looking to go to Mount Fuji.

Mt.Fuji day trip

The Mt.Fuji day trip with our guide and driver Awais was excellent. We loved lake kawaguchiko, we went on the cable car and the views were amazing. We had coffee in lake side cafe Ku which also had lovely views of the lake. Oishi park had pretty flowers, nice views, a good gift shop and delicious ice cream. Awais gave us good tips and recommendations and was helpful and cheerful throughout the trip. He also knew alot about all the sights we visited. He was very punctual and always on hand to help. The van was very clean, comfortable and warm. Thank you very much for a fun day.

Not the experience we expected

For the price of this tour, the vehicle was substandard, compared to to similar tours vehicles in Japan. Our guide while fluent in English, not so much in Japanese, therefore could not help to much with translation. Our guide while we'll intentionally, did not bring much narrative and history descriptions in our tour, also was more concerned on the traffic time going and coming from the MT Fuji area.
