Fabulous food tour! We loved learning history about Mexican food and New Mexico food. Lauren was very fun and informative. And she was able to accommodate a dietary restriction which I was very grateful for. She also gave us fabulous recommendations so we could try a few other places during our stay in Santa Fe. Highly recommend.

The best way to compare Mexican and New Mexican cuisine

Sue_H, Dec 2025
Lauren is a great guide. It is obvious she loves what she does and that enthusiasm quickly spreads to any group she leads. We were 8, and I was traveling solo, and by the time the tour was over, we were fast friends. She knows a lot about New Mexican cuisine, and she explains things in an entertaining way. The tour includes lunch with two different margaritas, as variety of great dishes, and a stop at an ice cream shop to try local flavors as well. A wonderful tour for foodies and history buffs, and also a way to get great recommendations for further meals and shopping.

Best Chef-Led Foodie Tour

Jane_H, Nov 2025
This is a fabulous tour with a dynamic chef who explains the differences between New Mexican and Mexican cuisine, types of margaritas, and provides a history of restaurants in the area. The restaurants we visited were absolutely wonderful.

Our Chef-Inspired Tour and Lunch with Lauren was a highlight of our time in Santa Fe. She blended fascinating history and cultural insights with delicious food stops, making the experience both fun and memorable. The lunch was exceptional, and Lauren’s warm personality and attention to detail made us feel like honored guests. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting a true taste of Santa Fe!

Best Food Tour EVER!!!

Come hungry with an open pallet & curiosity about the area’s culture and history. Lauren and her vivacious personality was the highlight of the tour. While all the food was delicious, Lauren added the most desirable ’flavor’ to the whole experience.

Entertaining and Delicious Chef-led Immersion Lunch

William_S, Apr 2025
Lauren honored our reservation even though our group did not meet the minimum number required. The tour was informative and she shared lots of information about our food in a fun way! The enchiladas, margaritas and ice cream were delicious and more than enough for lunch! What a fun way to spend a couple hours! We would highly recommend this tour and Lauren as your guide!

Highly recommend this tour with Lauren

Lauren was great! Really enjoyed the tour learning the history. Her chef background was an extra special perk to learning about the food and preparation techniques. She gave us extra tips on things to do and places to go during our trip too. Thank you for a great experience!

Highly recommend!!

Lauren was so knowledgeable, passionate, personable and funny. Not only was the food tour informative but the food stops were delicious. We have been on many food tours and this one ranks as one on the best. Highly recommend!

Lauren the tour guide was fun knowledgeable and helped make for a great experience of dining and sharing local cultural activities and information. Food was awesome and I highly recommend this tour

Great Tour

Stacey_W, Sep 2019
Our guide, Lauren was fabulous and highly recommend her. I loved the appetizer and dessert courses. The only issue I have is that the main courses (comparison of New Mexican vs. Mexican cuisine) were very spicy and I could not eat them. The owner did offer to bring me something else, so she was very attentive to my needs. In the future, perhaps they can offer dishes that has the chilies on the side. Otherwise, the tour was great....very informative and fun.

Jay was great!

Diane_C, Jun 2019
This was our second time in Santa Fe, but the first food tour. I have done other food tours, but this one was by far the best. Jay was our guide and he was great. He was knowledgeable about the history of Santa Fe and took us to some great places to sample the local fare. I highly recommend taking this tour!

Great Tour for Foodies & Drink"ie"s

marooneagle08, Sep 2018
To begin with, our guide Jay could not have been nicer. He was considerate enough to try to contact two people who weren't at the meeting point on time before beginning the tour (They made it before we had gone very far.). He was energetic and informative about the food and restaurant scene, including the history of the places we visited and some others we did not. It was easy to see that he has a passion for the tings he's talking about. He was also considerate of the folks on the tour to make sure everyone was comfortable. He even seemed to have built a genuine rapport with the people who spoke with us at the establishments we visited. At each restaurant, we were given enough food to really get an idea of the type of cuisine each had to offer. By the end of the tour, we had definitely had a whole meal. This included wine and drinks as well. At the distillery, we also sampled several spirits. One person in our group even bought a bottle to take home. Several people also made reservations at the restaurants on the spot. At each establishment, we got to meet at least one of the owners/chefs/sommeliers and in each case, they spent time with us explaining the food and drink we were experiencing. The food covered everything from authentic New Mexican to some of the highest rated cuisine in the city. And it was all within walking distance of the Railway District. This was a fantastic experience, especially for the price. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Santa Fe.

Excellent Intro to the Railyard Possibilities

vcave2, Jul 2018
We visited a small portion of the vastly spread out Railyard area, but walking through the whole deal was certainly an experience you don't get on a drive by. The four places we stopped for food and libation were distinctively different and had excellent offerings. Four of us went back in the evening to the State Capitol Restaurant on Sandoval for the chef's tasting which was exquisite, but $$$$. Our guide, Jay, was very informed about Santa Fe history, and shared it in an engaging manner. And, the more booze we sampled, the funnier Jay got! 😄

Yummy!

Gary_M, Jul 2018
We had a very enjoyable afternoon trying great food and beverages! We went back to several of these places again during our stay.

What a great, fun, friendly, relaxed food and walking tour! Jackie was delightful, and took us to some off-the-beaten path places in the Railyard district. We learned a lot, drank, and ate great food. Don't eat much before the tour, and get ready to enjoy beer, wine, margarita, and spirits.

This tour was truly an unexpected delight. We were treated like VIPs by owners of really special establishments who took their personal time to explain the history of their place, or how dishes were made, or how a tiny change in the distillation process changes your favorite whiskey. Samples included. Joe is a great tour guide and he conceived and created this tour so he's very much a part of it. Don't miss it.

This was okay. I thought it was a bit pricey all things considered. I know that some people consider alcohol an important part of a food tour. However, I'm more interested in the food aspect. : That may just be me. One stop is all alcohol, so I was a little disappointed in that stop. Our guide was very good. She was quite knowledgeable about the area, and the variety was good.

What a great way to experience Santa Fe! Joe, our tour guide, definitely loves his town and enjoyed showing us some of his favorite restaurants. Getting to meet the owners at each stop, who genuinely appeared to enjoy sharing stories about their establishments and/or how they came to serve what's on their menus, made this a particularly unique and enjoyable tour. The small group made it feel like you were sharing meals with new friends. A great tour!

This is a great tour for both food and history. Joe is an awesome tour guide and we learned new things about Santa Fe, even though we have been coming since the 1980s. Food was first rate, the drinks beer and wine on our tour were good and the people at each place were very warm and welcoming. Would go with this company again in a heartbeat. Highly rated, and we have been on a number of food tours in other cities, this was one of the best.
