Set out on a spectacular off-roading adventure on the sands near Pismo Beach, CA—the only public beach in the state where driving is allowed. Whip across the dunes and zoom alongside the coastline in your choice of a 2-seat or 4-seat rental. Choose between driving a dune buggy, UTV, or ATV. Instruction is included, so no need to worry if you've never ridden one before.

The staff will assist you in every way. Give you important information that help keep you safe. That only in the experience rider would have, which was helpful. The experience was wonderful, and I can't wait to come back with a bunch of friends.

Scruffy place. Underpowered buggies, not well maintained. The staff were friendly, the crowd rowdy, the vehicles marginal, the location a dirty mess.

We’re really sorry the day didn’t live up to your expectations and that the buggies felt underpowered and the area came across as scruffy and messy. Pismo/Oceano Dunes is a wild, working beach with constant wind and sand (it can definitely look rugged!), and we’re always working hard on keeping the fleet fresh and powerful even in those tough conditions. Your notes about maintenance and overall vibe are being taken straight to the team so we can step it up.

Gilbert was amazing! I had an issue with my ATV and I had to dial the number for recovery and he came quickly and was able to help me out with a new ATV replacement. The dunes was so much fun! Be aware of the zones, if you are just starting out, I recommend zone 1. Zone 2 even may be too much for a beginner. I was able to ride zones 1-3. I stayed away from zone 4, I don't know what that's like. I would totally go this again!

Was overall a super fun experience and would highly recommend it to anyone. We had one group that rented a 4-person dune buggy, and another group that rented a 4-person UTV, and the UTV was hands-down the better option. Don't even bother with the old-school dune buggies. It was a loud, slow, super-bumpy ride, and then it broke down and wouldn't start and we had to get towed back. Meanwhile, the group with the UTV was zipping around with no problems having a blast.
Everyone we dealt with was awesome and we still had a great time.

Great time. The dunes aren’t as big as Glamis but super fun. You have to know how to drive a UTV or quad for some areas but it’s flat enough for families in other spots.

I booked this experience for a bachelorette party over the Fourth of July weekend but was unable to participate due to company disorganization and mismanagement. My group of 3 waited over 90 minutes to check in. We eventually left due to company safety and management concerns. The company did not have enough helmets and provided a haphazard safety video. My party was not prepared to assume the risk and decided to leave without proceeding with this service.

We enjoyed our ride on the dunes even though it was very windy and cold. The dunes are tricky to navigate with no experience, so we mainly stayed in zone 1 but we still enjoyed it!

The actual dune buggy driving was great. However, turning up to find out we had to pay $200 to be held, then another $20 to cover the belt breaking was more than annoying! There was no mention of this when booking. I was told it would be released at midnight, this did not happen so we had to waste part of the next day going back to get this sorted. Also when we started one of our ATV’s broke down on route to the sand dunes. We hadn’t even started the actual experience, we did as directed call the breakdown no. This however was in LA, so by the time one of us drove back to tell them they hadn’t even gotten the message. This is not the most practical or time efficient way. Luckily the staff swapped the ATV and kindly re started our time as we wasted the first 30 mins just trying to get to the dunes.

This is a must for all thrill seekers! From the helpful, informative staff. To the enthusiastic dune buggy beach crew, this was an experience of a life time! Beautiful beach combined with a race car feel. I would do it every time we go to Oceano if I could.
