Enjoyed beautiful scenery while learning much from a local naturalist

Cynthia_A, Sep 2025
We spent an informative day with our naturalist, Oscar, seeing beautiful scenery and leaning much about the local sites, flora, fauna and animals. Having him drive us around and give a comprehensive narrative allowed us to absorb a lot in a single day. We would recommend this trip to anyone looking for an active day surrounded by nature.

We enjoyed the day...

We enjoyed the day learning about the sites and would have liked to spend a longer amount of time at each location to explore more.

Amazing Day at Olympic National Park

Sara_G, Jul 2025
We could not have had a more amazing day! It was so awesome to experience Hurricane Ridge, Sol Duc Falls and Lake Crescent with an expert on the area. Tommy was amazing and kept us informed and entertained all day.. We were also lucky to be here on a warm sunny day and even luckier to see bears, deer and a marmot! The tour company was organized and the vans clean and comfortable. This was truly a wonderful experience.

If you’re visiting Olympic National Park everyone should do at least one tour with this company!

We have gone on many tours through Viator when visiting new cities and they have all been great but Olympic Hiking Co. was by far the best tour company we have ever gone on a tour with… ever! From Bonnie- the very first person we met at the front desk - to our tour guide, Tommy, every single person we interacted with was absolutely wonderful. My husband and I signed up for a group tour and to our surprise when we got there no one else had signed up for the tour that day. Rather than canceling due to not having enough signed up or charging us more for what was essentially a private tour they told us that whether 1 or 12 show up the tour runs as planned. From the moment we met our tour guide and owner, Tommy, you could immediately tell that he absolutely loves what he does. Even though it was just the three of us all day it never feel like we had a stranger driving us around and half heartedly talking at us - it truly felt like we were just hanging out with an old friend who was showing us around a park that he loves. It honestly felt like he was just as excited as we were to get out and see the sights. He tailored the trails to our skill level and was a wealth of knowledge about the area. Tommy made our day absolutely unforgettable and this tour is a core memory for both me and my husband — we are still talking about it almost a week later!! We cannot thank you all enough for giving us such an incredible experience!!! If you’re going to Olympic National Park everyone should do at least one tour with this company!

The BEST TOUR EVER thanks to Oscar!

Oscar is truly one of the best guides I’ve ever had! I spent such a wonderful and joyful day with him today. He is incredibly professional and genuinely passionate about the forests, mountains, animals —everything related to nature. His deep love for this land and his work shines through in every way! This journey allowed me to truly reconnect with nature through sight, sound, smell, and touch. Thanks to Oscar, I no longer see these rainforests, moss-covered trails, and mountain peaks as just names on a map—they’ve become precious gifts from nature itself that we can truly feel. I hope one day I can return and choose another unforgettable adventure with the Olympic Hiking Co. crew members. This short trip was nothing short of magical!

Do it, seriously.

This was truly an amazing experience. Everything was so streamlined and taken care of for you, you just had to show up! Trevor was insanely knowledgeable about the area, from local lore to geological history, and even flexed his nerd status on trees & birds. The day flew by with a continuous stream of easy conversation, and he was especially talented at bringing the whole group together. It felt like hanging out with friends all day. We were able to see so much of the area, and having the comfort of a guide who knows what they are doing really took all of the stress away (except maybe that drive up Hurricane Ridge). HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest taking any of Olympic Hiking CO’s tours to have a guaranteed amazing experience and see so much of the area! Just book it you won’t regret it.

The BEST Guide ever!

Oscar was an excellent guide! He has spent his entire life in the Olympic National Park area and is knowledgeable in the terrain, trees and native plants as well as the animals that live in the park. It was so obvious he absolutely loves his job!

A A must do tour when visiting the Olympics!

Eric was an amazing tour guide and so knowledgeable. The views were spectacular, too. We look forward to our next visit!

Awesome places to visit

Excellent tour, all the explanation during the trip, the great stops to grab food and take photos. The patience with elder people was great too.

Wonderful

Tall huggable pines. Gorgeous Lake Crescent, clear clear water there. Pristine and nice not crowded.

A Day of Adventure

Angele_J, Jul 2024
Good and experienced guide. Hard to be unhappy with the sights we enjoyed on our tour. Olympic National Park is beautiful. Everything went well!

Wonderful Tour!

Elizabeth_G, Jul 2024
Excellent tour and our guide Daniel was fantastic. Hurricane Ridge has spectacular scenery and the alpine wildflowers and close up viewing of marmots made the experience extra memorable. The walk to Marymere Falls, through old growth forest, and the beautiful waterfall were also great Daniel was very knowledgeable about the Olympic National park and the Coast Salish tribes whose lands the park resides on making the tour so interesting. The air conditioned van is very comfortable. One suggestion would be to have some info in the van on Pacific Northwest wildflowers and forest vegetation.

Great Day Trip

Janet_O, Jul 2024
Saw a lot in one day and had a couple of great hikes. Nice to go with a guide (Oscar) who is so knowledgeable about the area, history / culture, plant life, etc.

Worth it.

Lidia_D, Apr 2024
I am glad I booked this tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the flora and also pointed out a few other trails I can take on the remaining days of my trip. So the tour is good for first-time explorers of Olympic National Park.

Best Hiking Experience

Ava_F, May 2023
Tracy was not only super educated on all nature we encountered, but she had such an amazing passion and vibe it made the exploration even better than we could imagine. We had mentioned that we really wanted to see the waterfalls in Olympic, and she took us to 3 huge one and several small ones along the way. I would highly recommend, there was a lot of hiking but also good rest time during the drives and stoppes at the lake.

A rip off !!!

Margaret_Z, Jul 2022
This was a waste of money and time. This trip was suppose to be 4 hours- however it turned out to take 40 minutes each way to get to and from Hurricane Ridge. Our guide took us for a short hike that was maybe an hour. He then brought us to a spot for a rest. He said he would return after a bathroom stop however he ended up taking a hike on his own and came back 40 minutes later. We didn’t know if he left us stranded there or not. We wasted $170 on a very short walk that we could have easily done on our own. The hiking company even used our senior National Park pass to enter which in turn saved them money. I don’t know how it was determined this hike was worth $170-which I wish I had back!

Response from Host, Jul 2022

Hi Margaret, I’m sorry that the tour did not meet your expectations. I reviewed and received your feedback and have already issued a full refund on our end prior to this review after your first email to us. We want to provide positive memories for travelers exploring Olympic National Park and I understand that we didn’t meet your goals Sunday afternoon. I hope the rest of your trip to the Pacific Northwest goes well.

Amazing views and wildlife.

Kathy_M, Aug 2021
We had a great guide who informed us about the history of the park and helped us look out for critters we were likely to see. The hike was challenging for some in our group but we were rewarded with amazing views at the top!

Yes, our heads were in the clouds!

BonniB_K, Jun 2021
What an afternoon! We started in sunshine as we drove to hiking area. Then clouds set in and it became an other worldly tour. Eric was excellent guide to keep us calm and appreciation for all of it. Taught us helpful high altitude hiking tips and great stories. Watching the Mountain View that surrounded us while feeling the cloud pellets on our faces…wow. Thank you Olympic Hiking Company!
