The Pompeii and Herculaneum tour with lunch was wonderful! We were so glad we saw both of these sites! Everything was great! The pickup spot was perfect, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. Lunch was delicious and the tours of both Pompeii and Herculaneum were amazing! We were so glad we saw both ancient ruins! It was a great tour!

Great tour. We didn’t realize Pompeii was so big, there is really no other way of doing it without a tour guide. Monica was very knowledgeable and Martina was a great guide. The lunch was delicious!

Begin your tour with pickup from select Naples hotels and hop aboard your coach toward Pompeii. Once buried under a blanket of ash from Mount Vesuvius’ eruption in 79 AD, the city wasn't unearthed until the 18th century.

Enter the archaeological site (own expense), follow your guide through the ruins, and learn about the fascinating history behind the ancient city. Pass excavations of the Forum and the Teatro Grande, which once housed up to 5,000 spectators.

If time allows, continue to a family-run coral and cameo factory to shop and learn about the local jewelry-making methods. Afterward, head to a local restaurant for an Italian-style lunch.

Journey next to the ruins of Herculaneum, another town struck during the infamous eruption. Though Pompeii is more widely known, Herculaneum hosts a wealth of archaeological treasures. Enter (own expense) and explore at your leisure, admiring the ancient monuments, preserved mosaics, and fossils that are nearly 2,000 years old.

Your day trip will conclude with transportation back to Naples.

This was a great excursion even though the last stop was mostly closed. More time in Amalfi would have been great, less time in Rovello.

The Pompeii part of the tour was excellent. Erica was our guide and she gave lots of great information. The Herculaneum part was self guided with an awkward audio device. Still enjoyed it on our own, but would have preferred an earbud to be able to listen hands free.

If you’re planning to visit soon, be prepared—it’s really hot! Bring umbrellas, handheld fans, and plenty of water. That said, the experience was incredible! Our guide was both knowledgeable and fun, and we truly enjoyed every moment.

Great guides and very informative. Everyone we had on the van and during the tours were really friendly, spoke great English and were extremely knowledgeable. Be prepared for quite a bit of walking, and if you go when it’s hot, consider having an umbrella or hat to provide shade. Really incredible to see Pompeii and Herculaneum!

The Tour was great especially the pompei part. The lunch was more than expected also great. The only criticism would be we arrived at the pick up point on time but had to wait for nearly an hour however every thing went smoothly except for the Herculeum tour the English group joined the Spanish group whilst the guide spoke to us in English however she was very aggressive towards people which a few of us noticed.and missed quite a few details on the tour. Unlike the tour guide on the pompei tour who was excellent .

This was the highlight of our visit to Naples. We were not familiar with Herculaneum, but the guide was great in placing the city in it's historical importance alongside Pompeii and in providing information about its continuing significance as an archaeological window into the everyday lives of Romans living almost 2000 years ago. Our guide in Pompeii in over 2 hours whet our appetites to return to this impressive and extensive site and spend the days there that this former city deserves.

Get ready for a piece of History unimaginable. Chris and our driver were on time and Chris was right on with what to expect on the tour. He gave us a bit of history while driving to Pompeii, history about the event that took place 79AD. He handed us of to an English speaking Italian girl, unfortunately can’t remember her name, but she had curly hair and was extremely good with the history of Pompeii. She was enthusiastic and offered more than enough info on what we were seeing. Two hours were enough to see the most important excavated ruins of the time. Hopefully, you will get her. After that Chris and the driver drove us to Herculaneum where he gave us enough time to see the city using state of the art phone guide which they provided. Herculaneum is a bit better preserved than Pompeii, but much smaller in size. Chris and our driver were waiting for us when we finished and they went out of there way to view the old palace while heading back to Napoli. We were dropped off exactly where picked up. All in all we give this tour a 5 star. Everything was above and beyond our expectations.

Fair warning for the next person booking during the winter months

I definitely advise against booking this tour on a weekday during the slower months. It is not worth your money if you do not have an in person guide to tell you all about the small details and answer all of your questions. The audio guide is pretty basic. We got the short end of the stick (which was expressed in the agreement, we knew it was a possibility) and didn’t have enough people in our tour to qualify for an in person guide. We spent a lot of money for something we could’ve done on our own for much cheaper. (We were just provided transportation from naples, tickets, audio guide, and lunch). I’m only leaving this review to let the next person know that you should try to book on a weekend, or call the company to make sure your tour has enough people in it to be guided by a person. You should cancel if not. Otherwise, it was great. Our driver (Franco) was great, very friendly and informational. The pick up location was easy. I wish the time allowed in Pompeii was longer, but it was almost the perfect amount of time to cover most of Herculaneum. And like I said, to make this tour worth the price you pay, you need an in person guide at the historical sites.

This was a 2 part walking tour. Lunch was included and since it was just my son and I for the Herculaneum part,we were able to explore on our own. Don't recommend to do in the summer as it is so hot and zero shade.

Directions to meet up point in my booking were wrong. We were at a spot bus did not come. No time to get to a different spot as all taxis were on strike. Bus would not come get us as they had already filled our spots. Very disappointing. Hoping for a refund.

We spent a lot of money on this experience and the Pompeii portion of the tour was a huge disappointment! Our tour guide spoke English but her accent was so strong we couldn't understand her. I kept asking my husband what she said and he always said he had no idea. This is something I have dreamed of doing since I was a kid. I can't tell you how disgusted we were. I later heard other people say they couldn't understand her either. The Herculaneum portion of the tour was very good. I would recommend that for sure. The cold, thin piece of chicken was too chewy to eat. I noticed nobody at our table ate the chicken.

Good tour , guides were great, friendly and knowledgeable, Pompeii is huge and the tour only covers about 1/8 of the park , Herculeaninum sight is much smaller and and covers around 50% of the sight. I would recommend for first timers

Great contrast of the two types of eruptions and buried cities. These were given by two guides. The first in Pompeii and the second in the van on the way to Herculaneum. There are phone like guides while inside.

Everything was great. We were picked up from our hotel and transported everywhere in a comfortable vehicle and looked after by our guide Chris. Chris was excellent, together with the guide at Pompei and they both made the day outstanding.
