Pompeii guided tour. Prompt pick up, good introduction on the bus. Great tour guide, very interesting, informative, and fun, loved it. My only gripe is the confusion re times and pick up from viator.
Very reliable cruise port pick up from the port at Naples. The communications leading to the trip via the app, were very good and reassuring. The transfer was in a modern minibus with AC and USB connections. Staff were friendly and helpful. On arrival at Pompeii our tickets were included and we were handed over to an English speaking Italian tour guide who was also an archeologist. The tour was thorough, informative and interesting. The tour lasted around 2.5 hours and there was some free time to wander too. We were then transported back to the cruise port. We will definitely use this company again as they were reasonably priced and reliable. We also heard good recommendations from other cruise passengers who had used the company in other destinations.
Thomos is the best tour guide there is ! Amazing experience for any one interested in Italy history or world history for that matter!
The site is much larger than expected. Wear good walking or hiking footwear, no sandals. Bring water and snacks if you plan to stay for the day.
Very enjoyable tour of the highlights of Pompeii. We did not want to do a six hour tour. The timing was perfect. A very nice bus and a good guide. The only negative was that the bus and organizer were one hour late picking us up and did not communicate and let us know that that was happening. We stood around for one hour, not knowing if we would make it back to the ship. I would recommend a different tour.
Alessandra and Tomaso were great team. Tomaso has great knowledge about Pompei and is willing to answer all questions. Truly recommend.
Pompeii has to be seen but on a very hot day be careful. Take a lot of water are be prepared for a strenuous walk up and down hill. This is not suitable for anyone who has difficulty walking.
Excellent guide, only 8 people on the tour. Guide shared lots of insights about how the people of Pompeii lived, relating it to the ruins.
Pompeii was fantastic to see! However, our pick up was over an hour late. Messaged the company through Viator but never received any response. Finally got a hotel to call them when they were about 20 minutes late and they said they were running late. Bus was nice and comfortable to Pompeii. The tour guide at the site went too fast, didn’t seem concerned with keeping her group together and people were getting left behind. Audio earphones are awkward and were hard to keep on. Glad I got to see Pompeii but there must be a better experience than the one we had. It’s too bad.
Guide was very good , good information, very friendly. Group was not big. Guide made it very fun for everybody. Would definitely recommend it anybody
There is quite a bit of difficult walking on uneven rocks. Be mindful of that if walking is a problem. Our guide ,Teresa was vert knowledgeable. Nadia wasgood butshe didn't communicate with us till last minute. There was some confusion with the pick up point. It was a little frustrating.
Tour guide was very knowledgeable. Liked that it was a small group. Only 6 people, the tour pace was perfect.
Rep dealing with us was not friendly and did not appear to have much interest in dealing with us. Our tour guide in Pompeii was excellent, helpful, attentive and was caring for all the group

Was easily able to find my tour guide Flora right outside the cruise terminal. The drive to and from was short and Costa was an excellent tour guide at Pompeii. 10/10
The host who rode the bus with us to Pompeii was sweet to wait for us when we were given wrong info on which bus to be on. The bus ride alright with a/c on the lighter side. The itinerary said water would be provided. We weren't given water, but there was a place to purchase water. We only had time to get water or use the restroom. Pompeii was hot!! The tour guide Andrea was amazing! He shared his umbrella when my companion and I were over heated, hh was entertaining and very informative about the history of Pompeii and what happened there. Had great expression and enthusiasm!
Totally recommend this tour! The guides, Tomaso and Nadia, were very nice and knowledgeable, and the driver, Giovanni, was very professional. The area is just breathtaking. A wonderful experience
This was a great trip:tour.
Hugely knowledgeable guide and a good tour of Pompeii itself for c. 2 hours. You could spend 4 days at the excavation so can’t expect to see everything, but lots of detail packed in.
Pompeii is on a hill so this is physically demanding, especially in Summer heat. Obviously triads and paths are very uneven.

I was under the impression that this was a private tour for 6 people. It was not. We travelled with about 30 people in a bus. It worked out fine but this was not clear to me when I booked the tour.
The person who met us at the meeting point arrived late and seemed very unconcerned about being there at the time she said we should meet once at the Pompei site. The group was on time…she was not.
Our actual tour guide was excellent and made the Pompei experience very worthwhile.
The Pompei tour itself was good. There was just far too much waiting time. We met our guide at 7:50 am. We did not walk into the gates of Pompei until 9:30. The bus ride is only about 30 minutes. The actual tour is two hours and was informative and interesting. There was also a lot of wait time after the tour. Our tour is sold as 3-3.5 hours and it took almost 4.5 hours. Everyone was kind and helpful, but they need to market it as about 5 hours.
The guide was verry very good and very informative, just needed a little more time. The shop was very good aswell
Our guide at the Pompeii site was not good. She skipped or walked by several important sites such as the basilica, the Temple of Apollo, and the main amphitheater. Also she was not very clear or engaging at the sites where we did stop. I think we would have had a more enjoyable time if we had walked around ourselves and read the signage.
No issues with the experience getting to and from the park.

It can be very tiring walking around, wear good footwear and a hat essential. Our guide Elija was very informative.
The experience was amazing but our tour guide was NOT! She never waited for our group to gather around before she started talking. Then she would just walk off without saying anything. We would walk for several minute, passing many things, without saying anything. She was not excited about being there or giving us the tour. I would love to praise Claudia, the Viator guide on our bus. She told her about our experience with the tour guide. She then went out of her way after the tour to show us a local pizza place for lunch.

Our tour guide was wonderful. He truly loves the history of Pompei. He also took great care to keep us in the shade as much as possible.
Our tour leader Clemente was warm and personable, but the guide assigned to lead the actual site tour, Anna, delivered the opposite of the personal experience we paid for. Her voice rarely carried far enough to hear clearly — even in our small group — and her delivery was flat and monotone throughout, with little sense of engagement in the site or the group.
Disappointingly, the on-site museum was skipped entirely. When we asked if we could have even five minutes to skim through it, we were simply told “No” and Anna kept walking. This was particularly frustrating given that we’d already waited at least 15 minutes both before and after the tour — the time was clearly there, it just wasn’t used for us. We also found ourselves straining to eavesdrop on other guides passing by, whose commentary was noticeably more engaging and informative than what we were paying extra to receive.
For a premium small-group experience at a site as historically rich as Pompeii, this fell well short of what we paid for. At minimum, we’d have expected an enthusiastic, knowledgeable guide and some flexibility on the museum — not a flat refusal from a guide who barely engaged with the group at all.

Our driver and person who met us and took us to Pompeii were great but our tour guide was the worst tour guides I have ever experienced. Her name was Ana and she just seemed like she was angry that we were there. She walked silently to eat point and gave her spill like an angry robot. And to top it off she said your done now, here is your map. What good is a map at the end of the tour?She should not be leading tours! Wish we would have just done Pompeii on our own.

Not good at all . Our “English speaking “guide had a very poor command and understanding of English. Spoke with a heavy accent and NOT easily understood as the other English guides around us.
He seemed lack lustre, not interested or engaging. Wondering if he was a last minute replacement option.His knowledge was basic , you learn more from discovery channel or you tube documentaries.
Have been to Pompeii previously. Our guide failed to show us all the artefacts, relics and plaster castings of the victims.Didn’t tell us where they were and just walked us out .UNFORTUNATELY too late wiz to revisit!!
My friends missed this highlight.
This is not satisfactory at all for a premium small tour . Definitely not worth the money we paid, which was well over standard tour .prices. Again very disappointed and will never recommend Viator to anyone again if the outsource tours to mediocre operators..

A lot to see in two hours and you may need a bit more time. Great information from our guide. Audio devices can be a bit tricky if you don’t have perfect hearing it can be difficult to hear guide. Good foot ware essential. Uneven ground and a lot of walking. An amazing place to visit. Enjoy.
The tour was good, the audio had some issues, however. The guide was very knowledgeable if you could hear him.
We had such a blast on our trip to Pompeii!! Claudia was so welcoming and made us feel right at home. Guiseppe was super safe. And Leopoldo was such a knowledgeable tour guide once we made it to Pompeii. We really felt like we learned something. And he definitely made sure we had as much shade as possible, on a very hot day. Would recommend!!
