Itinerary

Begin your day with pickup from select Naples hotels or the Naples train station and head to the harbor, where you’ll board your hydrofoil.

Glide across the blue waters on the 40-minute journey to Capri. Upon arriving, drive to the scenic town of Anacapri and soak up an hour to explore at your own pace and expense.

Your guide will be happy to make suggestions for your free hour. Enjoy the option of a boat ride to the famed Blue Grotto, or travel to the top of Monte Solare via chairlift for panoramic views of the Bay of Naples. You can also stroll to the impressive Villa San Michele, built on ancient ruins, or more simply, relax at a café and people-watch.

Then, reunite with your guide at a local restaurant for a traditional 3-course lunch. Stretch your legs afterward with a guided walk to the Gardens of Augustus, where you'll spot the Faraglioni rock formations and overlook the Mediterranean Sea.

After a full day of sightseeing, your trip will conclude with transportation back to Naples.

A great way to explore...

Natalie_R, Jul 2025
A great way to explore Capri and get a taster of the key areas. Would recommend this trip as a first time to see key areas of the island. We had 2 hours in Anacapri, 1 hour in capri and about 2 hours in the port area. Great being picked up and taken to the ferry (avoiding having to navigate the port for tickets etc) and having buses organised. Our guide was very friendly and as had three groups at once did very well at explaining everything and keeping all entertained in different languages. Only feedback would be it would have been nicer to have lunch/food at the last stop as there was more time and was hard to eat both the lunch and do the chair lift (even just 20minutes extra would have allowed a breather) also we didn’t get to see the gardens even though this was noted in the itinerary (imagine just due to time).

Great trip

Had a wonderful time. The boat ride was very relaxing and THD island was beautiful. Our guides did an amazing job

Fabulous day on the island of Capri

Rebecca_G, May 2022
This was the first time we visited Capri and we wanted to see as much as we could with the one day we had. The trip was very well-organized and the guides kept it moving so that we knew where to go, what to do, and when it was time to move on. From the time they picked us up to the final drop-off in the afternoon, the staff was very friendly and professional. We also had some free time to explore and took advantage of the option to take a boat trip around the island (that was an additional fee). The fee for the trip was reasonable because it also included all the kinds of transportation used in the day. Now that we have had the overview, if we go back, we will know where to go and what to skip. But we will be content knowing that we got to see as much as possible with the time we had in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Thank you for a great day!

Disappointing and frustrating

Brooke_T, Aug 2021
I had a really disappointing experience. Our guide would not explain everything to us in English so we were left confused and anxious when things were going wrong. We waited almost 2 hours at the Capri port for a bus in the sun which was extremely frustrating as they were hours we lost. The rest of the day was a rush including only an hour for us to eat our 3 course lunch and explore the town. Considering how much this experience was, overly it was a stressful and frustrating day.

Response from Host, Aug 2021

Dear Sirs we understand your point of view but consider that on Capri island in the high season is normal to wait to get transports and above all this service does not depends on our agency. My best regards.

Avoid This Trip

Kyle D, Oct 2019
The driver was over 39 minutes late to the hotel. The guide seemed to be bothered when we needed help. This was not the service I was used to with Viator.

Good, but hectic!

lum20192019, Oct 2019
Capri is a must see if you’re around the Napoli region, and I do believe that doing this tour is the best value for money, and the best way to see so much of Capri, in such a short space of time, but I have been on this tour twice, and both times were as hectic as each other. Because the tour grams so much in, you don’t get an awful lot of time to spend at each spot, which is a shame, because Capri is beautiful. The guide could have been more informative, and it’s quite chaotic if your in a larger group, but if you’re looking for the most cost effective way to do this trip, then I’d say it’s worthwhile.

Such a great day in Capri

Ruth S, Aug 2019
This trip started with some confusion on the part of the operator. Although it was paid for in June, I didn’t get any communication from them via email. The night before, I asked the hotel desk staff to confirm hotel pickup—which is what was on my voucher. (Pickup and drop off). The person from the tour agency initially threatened to cancel me. But they relented. Pickup happened and I was transported to the Pier for the ferry to Capri. I met my guide Ana. She told me she had a large family from Sicily, gave me a ticket and told me to board the boat and meet her at Pier 1 in Capri. So I did. Once there, she reassigned me to two wonderful brothers, Fabrizzio and Domingo. They spoke excellent English, and several other languages. My new group was more international, younger and with less mobility issues than the first group. I was upcharged €25 for a boat tour of Capri. But, the Captain was Genaro, who is a local legend. The day was spectacular. My included lunch was quite good and Domingo directed us to toilets at each new stop, and informed us about points of interest. It was all beautifully orchestrated despite the chaotic start. I did let the brothers know I wanted to be picked up at the Pier and returned to my hotel. It’s only a little past a mile, but I knew I would be ready to not deal with GPS after a day in the sun. Supposedly Domingo called ahead, and I am certain he had no reason to be other than truthful. But, when I arrived at the Pier, it was late, hot, and I was tired. I wasted 25 minutes walking around looking for the driver at the appointed place, and every other possible place. Finally, no one was at the Pier and I started walking. GPS was dicey and had my phone lost charge I would have been forced to get a cab. I once again had the front desk call this company and they were both dismissive and argumentative. Clearly, the home office had no intention of dispatching a driver. And had they told me so, I would have been prepared. This chaotic end of the day is precisely what I should have expected given the start of the day. I don’t like to be lied to, argued with, and endlessly surprised when I’m paying for the experience. The brothers were 5+ stars, and Capri is the best excursion one could hope to make in this area. Whoever is working at the office booking and scheduling needs to be fired. That’s the only reason this isn’t 5 stars. Some older tourist will eventually have an issue being deserted at the Pier.

Capri

Lourdes_P, Aug 2019
Disappointed that we did not get to go inside the Blue Grotto! Also, there’s no beach, except at the pier, where the boats are docked, so obviously not good to swim! No real beach in Capri. The tour guide was fantastic! Next time I won’t schedule a tour, but arrange at the island a private tour to Blue Grotto in a small boat that can actually go inside the Grotto. I thought that was what I had paid for! This tour deceived us!

Capri put it on your bucket list!

jacquihall, Aug 2019
Capri is a beautiful island, well worth a visit, would love to go back. The chair lift was very peaceful and takes you to the top of the island, with stunning views. Lunch was provided, which was very nice, pizza, salad and icecream. Only down side to visit would of liked to have stayed a little longer as time went really quickly and felt rushed and didn't see all of the island.

Great trip

M00nbi, May 2019
Our guide was great - unfortunately I cannot remember his name. He was excellent with his knowledge of the island and the places to see. Lunch was great as well. The sea was rough in the morning we went soil you suffer from seas sickness I would take some tablets. I would recommend this trip if you visit Naples.

Good trip, but a local guide could be better

Svetlana_D, Apr 2019
A trip is rather interesting, we have visited main sights of both Anacapri and Capri, but a local guide was giving not much information, mostly we had our free time. Lunch was not bad, not good.

Very disappointed

MARTINE_R, Oct 2018
Before leaving we had 1guide, arrived at Capri an other one appeared "Peppe", he kept us 2 to join another group ??? So We wasted 1/2h to wait for another small bus in the middle of noise ,crowd etc. He insisted a lot for extra visits and when we told him that we were n't very pleased , his only answer was that he was "the King here "... King of stupidy as for us ! Globally what a mess, Capri doesn't deserve it .

Very fine experience

Emma D, Sep 2018
This trip is massively overpriced and enjoyable. Capri is beautiful so I recommend visiting but defiantly chose a different tour operator. The description is incorrect, and to add to this the guide spent more time drumming up business and selling other packages to people on the boat than providing a service to the pre-paid customers. I guess they feel they have your money so they need not bother with you any more. The 'Highlights include' section is uninformative at best and lies at worst: we waited for an hour to get what should of been a minivan to Anacapri, we only had 40 mins to explore Anacapri, we had the worst 2 course lunch of our entire holiday, we then waited another 50 mins for another bus/van, there was no guided tour to the gardens - just instructions to rush as it was 15mins there 15mins back and we only had 35 mins before we had to cue for another bus. - A massive disappointment at a massive cost!

A day at Capri

Dominique, our guide was quite borred I guess so, I left with the impression we could have learnt more. He got late in the morning and we caught a weong place on the boat , coming back with hydrofoil( the big boat) was unbreathing, the air conditioner was poor working

Excelent Tour

Great Tour to enjoy a day to Capri Island. Excellent guide and logistics arrangement back and forth from Naples Hotel.

This was the highlight of our stay in Italy. My wife and i had a lovely day and celebrated our Wedding Anniversary with a nice lunch in Capri.

Not so good not so bad

Cheryl J, Jun 2018
This tour was helpful if just arriving in the area and needed guidance with bus boats etc. Guide did not do much else. Lunch was mediocre and en masse producers toon. More tourists than Italians on the Island. Too much waiting around for other people to arrive late for us etc. not well planned. Gorgeous weather and loved being on the sea.

This is well a put together tour...

Alberto_J, May 2018
This is well a put together tour. There is a good choice of things to see and do during the day. Our guide, Domenico, was very knowledgeable and helpful. The highlight for us was the blue grotto. It was absolutely amazing! The grotto was initially closed due to bad weather when we left for Capri, but opened soon after we arrived. Domenico somehow managed to get us there ahead of the crowds and we were fortunate not to have any wait in line. We would have also ridden the chairlift from Anacapri, but for low cloud. Altogether, a very enjoyable day.

Great trip, well organised timings...

Fabrizio was a wonderful guide! We visited during the off season, and a rainy day yet we enjoyed our time in Capri and Anacapri! Our guide was knowledgeable and shared the history and flavor of the island with us. We samples limoncello, visited the churches, the Mama Mia bridge and had a delicious lunch. Gorgeous scenic vistas every where you look! A must see when visiting the region!

Friedel_A, Feb 2018
Anyone who visits Capri in August or September is making a mistake. Way too many people. It was not really enjoyable and Viator is not really to blame. If it is so crowded that you could not even fall over, that is not enjoyable for me no matter how had the guide tries.

Very good exercusion. lots to do and see, Capri is a beautiful island well worth a visit. The Guide was very informative and fun. We had to take a later ferry back but this was not a problem as we got to see a bit more of the Island. Some people needed to get back on time so the guide made sure he got them tickets for an earlier ferry.

djsdky, Nov 2017
My expectation is that a guide should make sure that all of the group are there before they take off....not these guys! There was no descriptive explanation about the places other than on the bus up to Ana Capri. The group was disconnected 3 times and it took another participant to let the guide know that people were missing which meant the missed the tour of Capri town. Please ask the guides to slow down and stay off their phones when climbing the paths and pay attention to the guests.

Kristie G, Oct 2017
The experience of Capri was incredible. The day is so well planned. You have plenty of time to do whatever you wish to do and you have just the right amount of time with the guide so you know where you are and what you have the option of doing in each area of Capri. The food at lunch was great and the sights are just to die for. There is an added cost at the end to have the option to ride around the island on a boat... DO IT! It's about an hour and it is so beautiful and even the tour guide on the boat is fun and nice. Great time.

Gema_D, Oct 2017
Capri is beautiful! We were picked up/dropped off in Naples which was convenient. The lunch was delicious. I definitely recommend doing the chair lifts in Anacapri - beautiful views! The only downfall was that we didn't have sufficient time do the Blue Grotto. The best frozen lemonade I've ever had was in Capri. The little round lemon hard candies sold there are delicious also! I wish we would have bought more! Overall, great tour!

Francis_A, Oct 2017
The tour guide at Capri was not interested in providing any information. He just dropped us of at the various locations and told us to look around and meet him at the meeting point. It was a wierd experience. However the island is pretty and the transporation to and fro was organized in a timely manner.
