Overview
Escape to the Florida Everglades from the Greater Fort Myers area on this guided airboat adventure at Everglades Day Safari. This exciting airboat ride is a great way to experience the ecosystem of the Everglades. Skim across the marshes and swamps of the Western Everglades while looking for wildlife, namely birds and alligators. In fact, per acre, there are more alligators here than anywhere else in the world. This tour includes an interactive reptile show.

Guests meet our wildlife biologist at the trailhead to the Corkscrew Marsh. You must provide your own transportation. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE AN UBER, LYFT or TAXI. You must drive your vehicle from the starting point to the finish point.

Itinerary
On this guided excursion, skim along the marshes and swamps of the Western Everglades and see herons, egrets, gallinules and spoonbills while listening to fun facts and learning about the area’s ecosystem from the experienced captain. Look for a variety of wildlife, especially alligators, in their natural habitat. There are more alligators here per acre than anywhere else in the world. The guide will point out where they are—early and often.
After the airboat ride, check out the reptile show at Captain Bob’s Excellent Adventure. This educational presentation features alligators, snakes, turtles and more. Ask questions and join in the fun of learning about these amazing creatures.

Rhett was our guide and we had a great trip to the Glades. He was extremely knowledgeable and taught us a lot. Two of our kids were not thrilled to be there and were a little afraid and he was very patient with all of us. The boat tour was also education, educational and fun. I highly recommend.

Rhett was an awesome guide, gave in depth responses regarding the Everglades and its plants and animals. Airboat ride was also nice. Never thought I’d hold a snake or alligator, but Rhett made it not scary .

Rhett was extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. The airboat captain was amazing with the water ride. The whole tour was fun, a new experience, and worth going. Learning about snales, gators and anything else that was asked about the FL ecosystem, was incredible. Highly recommend!

This was a really fun adventure! Had a wonderful guide, Jacob! Very knowledgeable and friendly! We first took 1+ hour nature hike - Jacob was very informative and kept all of us engaged. We then drove to the airboat facility where Jacob introduced us to multiple snakes and 2yr old alligator! Jacob was so kind to the kids , adults,too! We ALL had a great time! We then got on the airboat
,with Fred as our captain , saw LOTS of gators and beautiful birds, GOOD TIMES! Highly recommend! Just the right amount of time for the little ones and the older folks!😄

You walk to a marsh and see a lot of different birds & plants. We saw 12-15 alligators on the air boat. It was great to learn so much from our guide, Pete. He let us hold a few snakes & an alligator which was fun for the kids.

Rhett was very knowledgeable and pointed out lots of interesting things on our hike. JT took us on a pontoon tour — saw many cool birds, a turtle, and some alligators. Rhett showed us some cool snakes and baby alligators — we were able to handle them as well.

This was a unique and fantastic experience. Our tour guide Leah was very knowledgeable, and we learned a lot of interesting ecological information from her.
The Airboats and Alligators tour was fun. Saw a lot of wildlife, including two adult alligators sunning themselves less than 10 feet from where our airboat was gliding past. Ear protection was provided, and the guide stopped the airboat when we flit close to something to see, and we had no trouble hearing him. As was suggested, we wore windbreakers and were happy we did, as it is extra chilly when your traveling fast over water.
The reptile show at the end was an additional highlight, as we had the opportunity to hold a baby alligator and various snakes.
100% would recommend this tour.
Note that you do have to drive from the end of the hike to a totally different location for the airboat tour—it is not walkable, and it’s remote enough you can’t use ride shares.
Also be prepared with waterproof footwear for the short walk, regardless of season. Even in the dry winter, there was enough moisture on the trail that my shoes were wet at the end of the mile long walk.

What a great experience. Our guide Rhett, led us on a walking trip thru a preserve. We saw a snake,a rare frog, large grasshopper and lots of birds. We then went to the air boat and Capt. Fred took us thru the everglades where we saw a lot of baby gators and a huge 14 ft. one. We came back to the dock and handled snakes with Rhett. It was a great day all around

The biologist Pete was very knowledgeable. He also was personable. He taught us a lot of things about the area we live in and we saw lots of really interesting birds and plants. We also so loads of alligators!

Pete was an excellent guide and kept us interested. He is very knowledgeable and answered all questions. Great with adults and children. If we do this tour again I would want him to be our guide. The air boat ride was great—saw lots of alligators, birds. Pete educated us on all of them. It was a really enjoyable day! Definitely recommend. Worth every minute.

We had a great time doing the everglades glades tour. Unfortunately we didn’t see any animals other than lizards and birds on the walking tour. The airboat ride was amazing. We saw lots of gators and wildlife. It was definitely an adventure worth doing!! Kenny was a great guide full of fun facts and very knowledgeable about the area.

This tour was totally worth it. Pete and his crew did an awesome job! My 9 year old son, who was “afraid” of snakes, ended up holding a few snakes by the end of the tour. Awesome memories made!

Great trip!!! The walking tour was fun and our guide Rhett was so knowledgeable and very personable. Getting to hold snakes and a small alligator was so fun. The airboat ride…out of this world. We saw at least 10 alligators, including one with a big fish in its mouth….10 stars….

We had a wonderful time on this tour with Rhett - a super enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide. The tour begins with an easy walk where we learnt about the landscape of the Everglades. The reptile show offered us experiences we’d never had before - holding snakes and a baby alligator. The boat ride was even more rewarding - we saw over 20 alligators, soft and hard shell turtles, and an amazing range of birds. It was a highlight of our trip!

There were two parts to the trip. The first part was a 1 & 1/2 mile walk through a nature wilderness. It was very boring. Not much to see. We certainly could have done without this part of the trip. The second part was an Air Boat ride. It was great. I would have paid the entire amount just to take the airboat ride. I later found out you can just do the air boat ride by itself. That is the best way to go.

I'm sorry you were disappointed in the nature walk. Most people find the walk with the biologist educational and fun. There are 40 different airboat companies that offer just an airboat ride but we do a safari that includes the nature walk, reptile presentation and the airboat ride and what sets our airboat ride apart from others is we offer the networked headsets that quiet the airboat and allow guests to hear the narration from the biologist guide. That's not something offered on tours that do just the airboat ride. Either way I appreciate your feedback.

Our tour guide, Peter i believe, was very knowledgeable and made the entire excursion very enjoyable. My kids, age 11 &13 both loved it, especially the reptile show. They held snakes and an alligator. The wildlife viewing on the fan boat was spectacular. Would 100% recommend the half day eco tour. It exceeded our expectations.
