My wife and I recently took the walking tour -Madrid to Avila and Segovia, and it was truly the highlight of our trip. We cannot recommend this experience—and specifically this team—highly enough.
From start to finish, the day was seamless and incredibly engaging. Our guides were world-class:
Gloria (Avila): She brought the history of the city walls and the local culture to life with such passion. It was highly informative and kept us captivated the entire time.
Laura (Segovia): Her knowledge of the Roman Aqueduct and the Alcázar was exceptional. She made the history feel accessible and deeply interesting, pointing out details we never would have noticed on our own.
Luismi (Bus Driver): We felt incredibly safe in his hands. He was professional, punctual, and navigated the roads perfectly, allowing us to just sit back and enjoy the beautiful Spanish countryside.
The entire day was well-paced, educational, and genuinely fun. If you are looking for a tour that balances deep historical insight with a friendly, professional atmosphere, this is it. Highest possible rating!

It was a great trip. Sergovia was lovely. You need to buy a 20 Euro tockets for monuments with the guide. It is for the castle, Cathedral and a church.
The guide is quite knowlegable and egare to explain the history.

Great tour and knowledgeable in-depth overview of Segovia and Avila. Definitely learned a lot! Please note this tour moves QUICKLY. As in don’t get accidentally separated from your group to take a picture like I did, because Segovia in particular is crowded and it may be hard to find them again (took me 2 blocks and the help of a Good Samaritan lol)

Excellent tour of those two cities we just took the tour not the paying visit to the cathedral etc.
I believe that the visits are go short, we opted out to walk and absorbing the sights.
We had a collaboration of the weather picture perfect.

Lots of walking. Rafa was a great guide. Very affable. Segovia and Avila were beautiful. But be prepared to do about 15,000 steps.

The tour was rushed. Sadly, there was no free time in the beautiful Avila. It is mostly a monuments tour (if you pay to see the monuments); if not, you are on your own.

There was so much to see in each town and spent it all in churches ugh! The place that was chosen for lunch , we didn't order food as it was not looking good. The people that did said it was all cold and expensive. Not happy with price or tour save your money.

Bring water, a sturdy but very comfortable walking shoes/sneakers, and sunglasses. Lots of walking (around 12,000 to 15,000 steps) based on how you want to explore the sights.
The tour and guides were exceptional. Lots of historical perspectives to immersed into. I'd strongly recommend this tour.

“Fun and Tickets” operator should rename to all tickets, no fun.
Rude and inconsiderate tour guides Frederick and
Rafaeil went out of their way to make out trip disacyerous just because we got our monument access tickets on-site. They got us lost on purpose tasting that we have our own tickets a d are not entitled for listening to the guide inside the monuments. Rafael kept us with long talk explaining that we should be staying far enough to not listen the u guidance inside the mo iment. On the meantime Frederick moves out and we were left alone in Segovia as we couldn't be with ragaeil either as we were not part of his subgroup. This we were deprived of listening to they tour even outside of the monuments. Worth noting that the package we had included full guidance and tickets were paid to the monument at a face value. Therefore they did not loose money as they told us. In addition, there tour guides went out of they R way to warn ticket box office not to give us our complimentary tickets.
We have a witness another tour participant who can back up the review.
We never had issue before. Fun and Tickets, operator is no fun, all tickets….
In addition the bus was unsafe with the front glass cracked full length left to eight, could collapse any minute. UNSAFE

Dear, we may be the most serious company in Madrid in every sense, but yes, we may not be fun for some who skimp on the $4-$5 fee. Of course, you can buy your own tickets to the monuments and visit at your leisure, but with us, you don't have to wait in lines and you'll also get a guided tour inside. Our price includes both admission and the guided tour. Maybe you didn't choose the right tour. We truly feel sorry for you; we're proud of the satisfaction of 98% of our travelers.

Good trip, but a long day, especially when hot, so pace one's self. The lunch venue up a hill past aquaduct, think this could be better organised rather than al arriving to gether( this happens on a lot of lunch included tours, and wastes time).

I'm probably the 'Odd Man Out', because it seemed that everyone liked this tour. Mr?, not so much. I first want to say that the Tour Guide, Federico Pablo, was fabulous in every way, so this somewhat negative review is not because of him. But, his accent coupled with the poor quality sound system made it not easy to hear and understand. Plus, he was changing from English to Spanish several times each minute which also made it difficult to understand. I believe the major problem is with the CHEAP typical ear plugs provided to each passenger. Why not, PLEASE, upgrade to a head phone system. Investigate what sound systems are available, Apple?? This decision by your company would STAND OUT as the Leader in tours. Yes, charge a little more if you must, but it would make SUCH a difference!!! I also want to compliment the A/C on the Bus. It was a very hot day, but always very cool on the Bus.

Very impressive tour with a lot of information. We enjoyed the facts about Avila and Segovia. The places have a lot of interesting history and the guides give a lot of details. The pace is quick but you need to cover a lot of ground in a short time.

Beautiful snow-covered mountains on the way to Segovia. Lots of walking and lots of magnificent sights. The palace and aqueduct were unbelievable. Likewise the ramparts and church in Avila.
Luis Miguel our guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. The driver and other guides were also very competent. Nice to have a free drink and snack in a quite restaurant in Segovia. Er sldo got a bottle of water in Avila.

Avila and Segovia’s history can only be measured in millenniums and their beauty is compatible to their history! Our guides Laura (in Segovia), Carlos and Pilar (on the tour bus) did an amazing job. The walk from the Segovia Castle back to the bus could have been a much better experience avoiding the rain. Long walk down the hill for about 20 minutes … only if we had left on the original time at 4:45 pm versus 5 min past 5 pm. Well… plan ahead next time!

This is really the onky way to go to both places in one and we were glad we saw Avila, but another time we would take the train to Segovia from Madrid for a full day and self guide. If you are not comfortable with guiding on your own there are guides suggested once in Segovia from Rick Steves. The hour long stop almost on arrival in Avila at the restaurant near our arrival ad us wondering whether Viator has some sort of arrangement with the place. The snack and drink consisted of a small slice of bread and tiny tamale Spanish omelet. Supposedly a traditional tapas to go with a drink. We downed a coke. Didn't want alcohol at that time of day and scooted out. The server was pressuring us to order the high priced menu options. We grabbed a coffee and delicious sandwiches from the Garnier bakery with a nice walk in this lovely small town. Time spent in Avila cut drastically in the Segovia short visit. But seeing the aquaduct was worth all the above annoyance!
