Our guide was really knowledgeable and positive, so that was great! However, this really should be two seperate English and Spanish guided experiences. It is SO hard to pick up on the history and facts when there is switching between the two languages every few minutes. Your brain starts to tune out when the guide talks in the other language and then it’s hard to comprehend, especially with a Spanish accent, when the guide speaks in English. If your primary language is English and are going on the tour to really get the full history and guide’s overview, I would be cautious / hesitant. It’s a nice way to see the highlights of Toledo but with the problem mentioned above, think I would opt for a different experience.

Terrible tour guide and operator.
Toledo is a wonderful place to go to but even though I specifically chose the ENGLISH tour, there was false advertising and it was actually a 80% Spanish and (broken) English tour. I paid for all 4 of my family members, making it quite expensive and we all had a horrible time. We couldn’t understand anything the operator (who in general just talked way too much) was saying so none of the history we went to see was understood. It was like having a fly buzzing Spanish in our ear the whole time. She went way too fast through everything so between that and the terrible English, it was a terrible experience. What’s worse is that they wouldn’t even take ANY accountability for the fact that I specifically signed up for an English only tour and instead got a mainly Spanish one with a bad tour guide. Don’t waste your money.

All our guides are certified in English, we are sorry to hear that you had some issues in understanding our bilingual tour. This is a format very appreciated by people of different languages and nationalities as it allows them to take in the sites while the second language is spoken, being said literally the same things in both languages as published, although sometimes more words are needed in Spanish to say the same thing in English.

It was hands down the best tour ever. Oranga (don’t know how to spell her name but it’s Italian for Orange) was knowledgeable, fun, spoke at least 3 languages that I heard, and set a perfect pace. Toledo is incredible.

The tour was great and the guide explained everything very well. The language we had chosen was English and the guide explained everything in Spanish first and English. We covered all the locations in Toledo and managed to walk through the city center and explore even the smallest locations.

This was a large group tour. It was difficult with the English and Spanish. It took a little away from the experience. However Toledo was beautiful. We would go again with a smaller group with just English. We spent a lot of time in the church. That wasn’t for us.

The tour was fun, the guide was knowledgeable but I felt very rushed in the cathedral. We had a VERY large group of older, slower people and it took awhile to get around. Many times the guide was in one room talking and we were still trying to get there so we missed alot of information. The sound system was once again poor. He would cut out or if you got too far away (which happened alot because of the size of the group) you couldn't hear.

There is a difficult climb up the stairs. It could be hard for elderly. We were surprised when we got a 3 hour lunch and we got bored. The tour guide was great, easy to understand and knowledgeable.

I typically find Viator tours excellent but not this. First, I probably will not book a 2-language tour again. It’s often difficult to follow someone who speaks English as her 2nd language but it almost impossible when she shift from her native language to English. Second, this guide, Arosa(??), gave little description of what to expect such as “We will have a short wait in this line while these folks in front of us get their tickets processed.” This is only one example of many that led to confusion. Finally, the radio headset I had frequently went out of range of the guide, so cut out, as she charged onward. This tour was too large for such a tourist crowded place like Toledo.

We are sorry to hear about your radio headset frequently cutting out. Our guides have always some spare ones with them in case of need.
Our group was not large, it had around 30 people, but on a Sunday, in high season, as our guides advise you before starting the tour, the city has fortunately many visitors. However, for people preferring private tours, we are happy to inform you that we also have them available at a higher cost.

Our tour of Toledo was truly unforgettable, and it was all thanks to our incredible guide Arantxa. Her depth of knowledge about the city’s rich history, culture, and architecture brought every street and landmark to life in a way we never could have experienced on our own.
She had such a warm and engaging presence, making the entire experience feel relaxed, enjoyable, and personal. You could tell she genuinely loves what she does—every story and detail was shared with enthusiasm and care. She also struck the perfect balance between informative and fun, keeping us captivated the entire time.
Because of her, exploring Toledo felt less like a tour and more like stepping back in time with a friend who knows all the hidden stories. I left with a deeper appreciation for this beautiful city and so many memories I’ll cherish. Highly recommend—she made the experience truly special!

The tour was informative and our guide, Arantxa, was knowledgeable and personable. The size of the group (50) can cause issues with staying together or taking up a lot of space in the narrow streets, inside spaces, and queues. The tour also did not actually go by the Alcazar, which is listed on the itinerary. It was just pointed at from the bus and viewpoint outside the city.
The tour was done in both English and Spanish, which was also not something we expected based on the tour description. It was distracting to speakers of both languages to have to listen through both. While our guide was fluent in several languages, we found it difficult to discern when she would switch languages due to her accent.
Also to consider, there was no opportunity to use the restroom until 2.5 hours after you arrive at the meeting point.

We are happy to hear that your guide was informative, knowledgeable and personable, being fluent in several languages.
The size of the group was less than 50 people, but travelling at Easter, in high season, the city has many more visitors than usual, with the streets full of people. However, thanks to our group’s organization, having a pre-booked single group ticket, entry to every monument is faster than for the individuals, skipping some lines at the ticket offices and without the need to get in with individual tickets one by one.
This tour went by the Alcazar as listed on the itinerary. This was the last stop of the tour before getting back to the bus, at the Square of Zocodover, from where the Alcazar can be seen, and is always pointed at. We are sorry that you didn’t hear that part.
This is a bilingual daily tour as per the description of the tour (in English and Spanish), very appreciated by families and people of different languages, being able to take in the sites while the second language is spoken. We have received excellent feedback from many customers on the same day and tour. We are sorry to hear that it was distracting for you.
We do a bathroom break every 2 or 2.5 hours as this is very important for all of us. However, in case of needing it earlier, our guides can always find an alternative. Please do not hesitate to ask them on your future tours with us.

This was a fantastic overview of the city of Toledo. Our tour guy gave us so much history and was able to see the main monuments. The only reason I gave it a 4 was we just didn’t have enough time to stay and see the full beauty of the city and its monuments. Otherwise it’s a great tour.

Our family (two adults + two teenagers) had a fantastic day trip to Toledo! Our local guide - Beatrice - was full of great humor and insight regarding the history of Toledo, Spanish culture and more. Our driver - Guillermo - also navigated us safely to-and-from Toledo in a comfortable bus. I definitely think a day trip out to Toledo is a worthwhile excursion to couple with a stay in Madrid; Toledo is a beautiful historic city with much to absorb. This tour provided us with sufficient time to explore Toledo on our own, while also including time dedicated to Beatrice's exploration of specific sights with the group. The tour is in both Spanish and English, but we had no issue with that; Beatrice seemed to navigate both languages with considerable ease.

Toledo is well worth visiting. Our guide, although friendly and knowledgeable, had a heavy accent so her English was very hard to understand. Also, it was a bilingual group so she had to rush through the commentary first in Spanish then English. The lunch break was at 2 p.m. which is not our preferred time.
