This was an excellent half day trip to Escorial and Valley of the Fallen. Our gruop was mixed if Spanish speaking and English vistirs. Our guide did wonderful job of explaining the history of both sights.

Very well organised trip those who want to see El Estorial and the Valley of the Fallen from Madrid. We thought the Valley of the Fallen was a little rushed as we had spent longer at the Monastery than was allocated. Our guide Isabel was excellent - very friendly, interesting and enthusiastic.

Mostly positive. Our guide Sergio did a good job of explaining everything and was very knowledgeable. Great site, beautiful scenery and history. I have two suggestions for anyone going on this excursion. First off, don’t go on a Sunday. The basilica had services and we were unable to go into it due to closures which was disappointing. I think any other day would be fine. Second, eat beforehand and bring some drinks. The excursion was around 6 hours and we didn’t stop anywhere for food or drinks. After about hour 4 I was very hungry after walking around so much. Aside from those two things, everything else was great.

The two sites visited are spectacular in terms of their grandeur. Seeing them was great as they are spectacular. But the tour itself had an issue.
Other reviews had noted this important point but I had not read the reviews prior to our departure - this is a bilingual tour.
When we booked it said that it was an English tour. It may sound inconsequential but it is not. Having everything repeated in a second language means that half the time you are effectively doing nothing. If we knew that the tour would be operated that way, we would have booked a different tour. At least be forthright and honest on this point when presenting the tour.
The tour was good but would have been better - if done as advertised- in a single language.

I'll be surprised if the Valley of the Fallen Doesn't end up being the high light of my trip! It was truly amazing. The religious aspect was absolutely touching, but beside that the architecture as well as the views were breathtaking.

I highly recommend this tour. The monastery visit was magnificent, featuring beautifully painted walls and ceilings. Our tour guide, Beatrice, shared extensive historical background about Spain and provided important information about the places we visited. The transfer by luxury bus was also very smooth, thanks to our driver, Angel.
The mausoleum of the infants, kings, and queens was like nothing I have ever seen before. This is definitely a tour to add to your list of things to do around Madrid.

This trip is a must do if you are in Madrid, you would have seen cathedrals and churches around Europe but this monastery and the valley of fallen is beautiful and different - reminder of the Spanish war and outstanding location . Our guide (Isabelle) did a marvellous job

Escorlial is an amazing experience. Ana, our guide, was very informative. If we had gone on our own we would not have had any of the context for what we were seeing. The trip to the Valley of the Fallen was interesting and creepy... Knowing that the remains of thousands of combatants in the Spanish Civil War were buried in the walls of the haunting church built right into the stone was enough to send chills.

It was a wonderful guided tour through both monuments. Easier and simpler than doing it yourself and includes tickets. Or guides were Jose and David who gave an excellent experience. Be aware that it is a fair amount of walking and a fair amount of stairs. In addition the locations are at a higher altitude than Madrid which is already higher than sea level so it can be a fair amount of exercise.

Very interesting places to visit and the tour guide gave a good art history perspective of the palace and monastery. We were hoping for more of the mysteries and "magic" secrets of El Escorial, because our daughter had gone on a tour of El Escorial focused on that aspect of the history. This tour focuses more on the history of the monarchy. The tour felt a bit rushed, and disjointed. It was marketed as an "English" tour, but it was in fact a bilingual tour, with the guide alternating his narratives between Spanish and English. Because of the time required for this, we could not spend as much time touring the places To be fair, it should be labeled as "Bilingual: English and Spanish" to clearly set customers' expectations.
There is no time for lunch, so be sure to pack a sandwich! The tour goes straight from El Escorial to the "Valley of the Fallen", which was built during a very different period in Spain's history, so it was interesting to see the contrast.

Literally before this tour started I told Christina that I could not hear her in my headset: she responded. “I’ll give you another one” and continue to move forward, less than 5 minutes after the exchange I did not have a headset and was lost in the crowd. We waited for what felt like a half hour however she did not return in search of us and another gentlemen seperated from her as well. Christina doesn’t know that I suffer from severe panic attacks and in order to protect myself in a country that I barely understand the language I decided to go back to the bus and request a refund. I have never been on a tour that the guide made me feel unsafe until today. I am literally disgusted! My husband and I are in an uber and finding a more safe fun thing to do!

Dear Tami, no customer can request a refund if they have previously left the tour. Cristina is not a doctor and does not know about the illnesses our clients may have. We are a well-known tour operator in the city; you can't just abandon a tour, take a taxi, and return to the starting point. Naturally, there's nothing we can do for you.

There is so much to see in the Monastery that just one visit is not enough, even if our guides try to show you the best parts in the allotted time.
This is a half day tour where there is not lunch time so that you do the most of your time in both sites.

This tour is conducted in both English and Spanish. While our guide was clearly knowledgeable, his English was difficult to understand and it seems he spoke more frequently in Spanish than English. For that reason, I would not recommend this particular tour. But, the visit to the two sites was worthwhile and I do recommend the tour in that respect.

Beatrice was a fantastic tour guide. She gave us a great explanation of the history of Spain on our way to the monastery so when we arrived there the significance of the things we saw made a lot of sense. The Escorial is about an hour outside of Madrid and the tour is the perfect length to see an amazing site and still have time to enjoy Madrid in the afternoon. See how they carved things into the mountainside is absolutely worth it! I highly recommend this tour.

This tour was very well organised. I went on Sunday and our guide Beatriz was very efficient in getting us into both the basilica in El Escorial and the Valley of the fallen. She got us in before the mass service started and we had a very comprehensive tour of both locations. Her English is good and the explanations were clear. The driver Paco drove very smoothly and the trip went really well. I would definitely recommend this tour.
