Itinerary
Select your preferred departure time and join up with your air-conditioned coach in Central London. Then, sit back and relax as you set off on your approximately 2-hour drive to Stonehenge.
Rising from the vast Salisbury Plain, this spectacular ancient monument dates back 4,500 years. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986, it centers on a ring of giant standing stones and is generally believed to have served as a prehistoric temple that marked the sun's movements, although its purpose is still not totally clear.
Upon arrival at Stonehenge, collect your included entrance tickets. You'll enjoy ample free time to explore the Stonehenge site and visitor center, with exhibitions and a café. Learn more from the companion audio guide as you go.
After nearly two hours of exploring, reconvene with your coach and relax on your ride back to London. Your trip then ends with a drop-off at the original starting point—or with a fish-and-chips or vegetarian meal, if you selected the optional upgrade.

The ride to Stonehenge was a breeze thanks to our bus driver who was funny and engaging the entire trip. It was a joy to see the countryside and marvel at the mysterious Stonehenge in person. I would definitely book with this company again!

Left the Station about 1:15. It took over 3 hours to get to Stonehenge. It is about 2 miles from the visitor center to the stones. The Staff closes access to stones at 5:30. We had about 15 minutes to view. Visitor center closes at 6:00. Bus left at 6:50. We opted to get fish and chips at end. The kitchen at the pub closes at 9:00. We arrived at the pub shortly before 9:00, just in time to be served. The food was good.
Not sure how much time is alloted for earlier tours, but there is not enough time on the afternoon tour to walk around the stones let alone tour the grounds.

Literally this is just a bus ride to and from Stonehenge. There is no tour on the way there or back, no assistance while you are there. Just a bus ride. But Stonehenge was nice
Response from Host, Aug 2026
Dear Amanda,
Thank you for your sharing your feedback.
We are sorry to hear that the tour didn't meet your expectations.
The Stonehenge Shuttle Bus from London with Optional Fish & Chips is advertised as a self-guided Stonehenge tour. The service includes a driver who will transport you to Stonehenge, provide your admission tickets upon arrival, and bring you back to London.
As this is a self-guided experience, there is no guided tour of the site included. Guests are free to explore Stonehenge at their own pace during the allocated time.
We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your experience at Stonehenge itself.
Kind regards,

VERY long and a REALLY uncomfortable bus ride from London. Cafe on the site of Stonehenge is not clean and it closes long before the site itself is empty of visitors. Otherwise very well set up and an enjoyable experience.
Bernice_R, Jul 2026
The drive from Victoria is long and with traffic it took 3 hours to get there. 2 1/2 hours at Stonehenge wasn’t necessary since we got there so late. The last bus back to the parking lot is at 5:30 and our bus back to Victoria didn’t leave until about 7pm. Just lots of waiting in the heat.

We were very happy that we took this tour. Stonehenge is very impressive. Your is not guided so some homework is needed
KaRon_M, Jun 2026
Truly a great experience. Our driver stopped along the way for a quick restroom break. This was a great day trip from London and way to pass the time until we could check into our hotel. We both suggest this experience.

This isn’t a tour in any sense - it’s a bus ride and ticket. The driver didn’t add any commentary and didn’t have details about logistics. Do kids need tickets? Who knows! How long does it take to get back to the visitors center? No clue. In any case it was billed as a 2.5 hour onsite ‘tour’ but after about an hour at the stones we all were told the site was closing early and we had to catch the last shuttle bus. It was enough time for us but then we still had to sit at the bus and wait for the better part of an hour to leave, with nothing to do. The toilet on the bus was broken and although there was a monitor on the bus, the driving didn’t play anything. Would have been a nice add to play information about the site! Very underwhelming.

Dear Jeanne,
Thank you for taking the time to review us.
The Stonehenge Direct tour is advertised as a self-guided tour. The driver’s role is to transport guests to the site, provide entry tickets, and ensure the scheduled time at Stonehenge is maintained, rather than providing live commentary during the journey.
On the day of your tour, the coach arrived at Stonehenge late due to heavy congestion. Unfortunately this affected your time spent by the stone circle.
We are sorry that the tour felt underwhelming and you found the driver not informative enough.
Thank you for sharing your experience. We appreciate your feedback and will take your comments into consideration to improve our services.
Kind regards,
Premium Tours Team

I loved that I finally got to see the Stonehenge site. I have read a lot about it and the exhibits around it are fun for all ages. However, it could have better if we had a tour guide presenter or audio guide. When I booked the tour the description said we would receive headsets for an audio guide. We did not get that. When I finished the visit I saw a sign that had a QR code to listen to a presentation on my phone. Too late though..Ooverall I still liked the visit and my general knowledge of Stonhenge was sufficient to make it enjoyable.

We happened to be in England during a heat wave. Thankfully the bus had A/C and was comfy! We had plenty of time at Stonehenge. Definitely recommend!
Joseph_K, May 2026
Good day ala in all fish and chips not available after a long day of walking and offered a burger or salad instead.
Lori_B, Apr 2026
Our driver was excellent. This is a bare bones tour. The bus takes you to Stonehenge and back. Tickets are included. There is an app you can download for information while you walk around.
Cathy_M, Apr 2026
Very busy tourist attraction so be prepared to wait for the shuttle busses unless you are in shape to make the 30 min walk to and from the site's parking lot. Incredibly .memorable trip.
Jayme_H, Apr 2026
There are no USB chargers on the bus. Make sure all of your stuff is fully charged. It was a great experience. On the way back though, my phone was dead because I spent the day doing Google maps for things we did prior to this event. The fish and chips were tasty also.
Barbara_B, Mar 2026
Grandson wanted a bit of a sleep in. This tour has a later start and good way to get to Stonehenge if that’s all you want to do for the day.
Caroline_W, Mar 2026
2.5 Hours was a little long to stay at Stonehenge as it was very windy, but Neil was a great driver!
Vanessa_D, Feb 2026
Great company to book for a trip to Stonehenge. I was helped through text message and a phone call to navigate to the meetup spot. The driver was fun and engaging (he gave us facts about west London). The drive was a smooth 2-hour journey each way and a 4-minute shuttle to the stones. There was plenty of time for pictures, food, and rest. I am so happy with my experience. We arrived home early which was appreciated.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Dear Vanessa,
Thank you for sharing your positive feedback with us at Premium Tours. It's great to hear that you were happy with our driver and your visit to Stonehenge. We hope to welcome you on another tour of ours in the future.
David_P, Feb 2026
The ride was good driver stopped to allow bathroom break and acquire snacks or lunch. Be prepared for cold windy weather if you go in February.
Stason_B, Feb 2026
Bus Driver and self lead tour was amazing! Bus Service got us to and from destination quickly and safely.
Samira_Q, Feb 2026
Excelent, definetely my money's worth. The tour was on time, the guide was really nice. Honestly, I would not have bookes this any other way.
Rebecca_V, Jan 2026
Convenient transportation. On time, efficient, and extremely helpful for those not wanting to rent their own car while in London. Definitely take time to enter the visitor center and walk around the sheep-studded landscape.
Jose_P, Dec 2025
We travel for 2 hrs was really fast the driver was very nice and helpful Great experience and interesting in history
Robert_B, Dec 2025
Very smooth and well organized, really comfy bus, excellent driver, and plenty of time to visit the stones, see the exhibit, and shop/eat. Also 10:45am is a great departure time option - not too early, you get the best of the day, and leave right as the sun sets.
Luisa_B, Nov 2025
we liked it very much, we liked all the things we visited: Stonehenge, its museum and Bath. Expecially how the guide explained during the bus travel.
Juanita_L, Nov 2025
Bus ride and entry to Stonehenge. 2.5 hours at the site - enough time to walk, have some lunch and look at the exhibit. Cheaper than taking the bus and train there on your own. Self-guided audio tour at Stonehenge.
Ronald_C, Oct 2025
It was a very good bus trip. Easy location and very comfortable bus trip. We probably had too much time, but we did get back at a reasonable time. Highly recommend!
Janeen_D, Oct 2025
Wonderful commentary as we trekked from London to Stonehenge then to Bath. Our guide was exceptional. Made me feel comfortable to be so far away from home. Thank you for making my introduction to London so lovely.
Charles_G, Oct 2025
So easy- perfect amount of time. No frills- excellent value!! Our driver was hilarious but also not overly talkative so the bus rides were relaxing.
Whitney_N, Oct 2025
Didn’t get a tour guide even though there’s usually one (the driver just said we didn’t get one today), so we didn’t get the audio guide upon arrival or any help whatsoever. Also I got the fish and chips add-on, you don’t get dropped off at the restaurant afterwards and no drinks are included (even Coke or water).
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Dear Whitney,
Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we are sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations.
Please note that the tour you selected was an independent day trip to Stonehenge with the Fish & Chips add-on. Information about the Stonehenge Audio Guide being available for download was clearly noted on both the website and your voucher. Regarding the add-on, we clearly state under Additional Information that the pub is located within walking distance of Victoria Train Station. On the day of your travel, we also provided a handout with the pub’s location for your convenience.
We kindly remind all our guests to review the information provided at the time of booking to help avoid any disappointment.
Adrian_O, Sep 2025
The tour guide was very nice, with documentaries while youre on the bus there and back explaining a lot about stonehenge. Once you get there you get plenty of time to relax and walk around with a beautiful sight of stonehenge. Highly recommend.
Mary_W, Aug 2025
Be prepared for weather conditions, lots of parking space for busses. Variety of selections at restaurant.
