The Hop on Hop off was good, hit all the major spots, but they left us sitting on the bus baking in the sun in 36 degree C heat for over 20 minutes at one stop with no explanation . The Thames river cruise was entertaining and as enjoyable as it could be in 35 degree weather. The London Eye was a total bust. When we arrived for our scheduled time slot we were informed that our tickets had been cancelled. After many minutes with the Lovely people from the London Eye we found out that the third party company we booked our tickets through, still unsure if that is Viator or Big Bus, had cancelled our tickets. They gave us proof that they had refunded the company. We still have yet to see the refund on our credit cards. We were told this has been happening frequently and there was nothing they can do. Tickets were sold out for the remainder of the day. Still hoping for the refund.

The bus was not very comfortable and the driver did not interact with us at all. Frequent long stops without explanation.
The Eye, however was amazing!
I might try a different bus company next time.

It is best to buy this tour directly from Big Bus London directly. My Viator tickets were not valid and the nice guy at the big bus stop was able to reissue tickets. If we had gone to a stop that did not have a rep from Big Bus we would not have been able to use the tickets readily. Avoid the hassle and buy direct.

Bus is great but information is not reliable. At one place it said blue route will start at 1030am. But later we found it started at 8am. Bus routes are very slow and it doesn’t tell his much time so u end up missing lots of opportunities. If that info is available people can plan the trip better. We wanted to change the time for London eye. But despite spending a lot of time on on live chat and emails it didn’t work.
Advice to people. Be careful when u buy tickets. It gives u very little information about actual time required and places close at 5-6. DO NOT LOSE YOUR MONEY!!!

The Hop On/Hop Off bus was good. However, there are a lot of companies doing this and using the same stops. At times it seemed like I'd see 2-3 of each other companies bus before the Big Bus showed up. I'm not sure if this was just the weekend I was there or if it's common that the other companies run more often. I saw several empty Big Bus busses sitting unused and at times they would have us get off a bus to just jam pack another bus instead of running an additional bus. This meant we were crammed in and often waited twice as long as other bus companies. The addition of the London Eye ticket was nice but go early before lines get long as this is just a normal ticket for the London Eye and not the rapid pass.

Finding the buses weren't exactly easy and if you ask one of the employees selling tickets on the street they were rude and not helpful. Twice when we were getting on the bus we were told where that bus was going almost like they expected us to say we weren't going to ride on that bus. The drivers weren't polite at all. The River boat tour was nice. We booked our ride on the London eye but the lines were so long that we didn't even want to attempt to get thru that crowd. It had nothing to do with Viator. Only the eye itself.

It was pretty good. We got to see everything. Just wish you could back track. You have to go around the whole circle just to get off on another stop. Ended up using the u der ground, it was faster.

Unfortunately not a great experience - after purchasing this package 2 months prior to travel and booking London Eye ticket/time through the Big Bus App as directed by Viator we did so 2 months ago for our date of travel and time. When we went to activate the big bus ticket for the 48 hours on the morning of tour, it didnt "activate" proceeded to bus stop and asked attendant who said it was his first day and we could get on anyway. Red line tour is many hours, good sightseeing for central London, its slow. Second day was our London Eye booking which we had prebooked and had the QR code in the app until the morning of, then when we went to use it, it had disappeared. No assistance from Big Bus customer service who blamed viator for not confirming order, however hard to believe since our booking has been active since 2 months ago on the App. London Eye team members who arent affiliated assisted us (no help from Viator or Big bus) hence the dissapointment in this review. Big expense to just give up on, and a family holiday. I wouldnt do this again, id do London own transport and tickets for london eye on the day 👍
Second day did the blue line, takes a really long time for between stops and buses caught in traffic. Ended up doing the subway.
River cruise was nice.

The London Eye had beautiful views, marred by a man in our group who literally peed on the floor--gross! But the ride and views were terrific. The boat ride was nice and relaxing. The bus took forever due to the horrendous traffic, not the driver's fault. Bus was VERY warm! Took us almost 2 hours to get from stop 3 to stop 16

The traffic in London is ridiculous and the buses have no ac so when it is hot outside….the bus was totally miserable! I felt I was cooking in an oven! The only tour guide was recorded audio and a lot of time it was either ahead of sights or behind of the sights so it was hard to know where you were and what you were seeing. We found the subway to be much faster and if we had known that we would not have booked the bus. I was very disappointed.

We did not have a guide to answer questions. It was extremely hot even on the upper deck. No AC. Bus was nice to see the city sites but traffic was heavily congested. We didn't Hop on or off a lot, if at all, out of concern as to how long the next bus would be and how crowded that bus would be.

This is not worth the money. I definitely would not do this again. The bus was slow (I understand there’s traffic but this was downright painful), the diver was miserable. Save your time and money.

If you have other tours scheduled during your trip you don’t need to do a hop on and hop off bus. Night tour probably would have been more enjoyable. Wouldn’t recommend for 90 degree days. Top of buses are packed and lots of waiting in traffic. They make it seem like you can just jump on and off and encourage you to use the app but the times rarely matched. It was nice to be able to track the buses in real time though on the app since none of the times matched. They make you wait 15+ minutes or transfer to another bus at stop #2. When they’re done for the day they just stop and make you get off, not even at a Big Bus stop. We had to get transportation from the Underground from where they let us off.
The boat ride was a joke. Again very packed, couldn’t sit anywhere or hear the guide talking. We took an Uber boat the day before and saw the same sights.
London Eye was nice, but again very long line.

The routes were great! Bus clean and easy to use the Bus app! The narration was great and in many languages! The only issue was some stops were quite long - which can be fine but rgeee should be a heads up about that for planning purposes???

It takes almost 3 hours to make one route. There are 5 different tour operators, many busses, all go slowly, traffic and smoggy, some bus drivers are not friendly. Emma, tour guide was amazing!

Excellent value. We went on the London when we wanted followed by the river cruise. Hardly any time queuing. The big bus ticket everywhere we wanted to go once we worked out which way the routes operated. In all, highly recommend

Great way to see London. Provided maximum flexibility on how you want to spend your day. The stops were convenient and the routes took you to the places you would want to see in the city.

Rowan did a fabulous job taking care of us. She not only provided a lot of information about the sites we visited but also made sure everyone knew where and when to go. We covered a lot on our tour, and my husband and I were able to sit back and enjoy it all since someone else was in charge.

Refrain from booking this tour. Despite being paid, the tour operator failed to provide an option for the London Eye for one week. It is unethical to offer a tour when the availability is uncertain. I am still awaiting a refund.
