We did the cookout ride. The ride was scenic, beautiful, & fit most riders. After the delicious dinner, my mother-in- law was offered a ride back in the wagon. Staff were very patient, kind and made it fun for everyone. Afterwards, watching them corral 125 horses and let them trot to the river for the night was amazing!

Missing rain gear

Rodney_S, Sep 2025
We were caught in a hail/rain storm on the way back we should have been provided rain gear prior to the trip. Rain gear should be stowed in each saddle bag.

Picturesque easy trail ride

Fun Experience

Neil_B, Aug 2025
Very well organized, and a very scenic ride. They kept their horses to a very slow wall, they would’ve liked a little bit faster trot but otherwise it is very fun experience.

Amazing ride with beautiful scenery!

Maybe I Over Romanticized This in My Head

Brandon_B, Jul 2025
When we arrived it was total chaos. They had so many people signed up they divided us into 4 groups. I asked for a small group and was put in group 4. It took an hour for the first two groups to leave. We were then informed the last two groups were being merged into one huge group because a horse wrangler didn’t show up. Think big slow moving bus tour group. Everything that frustrates you about those is what was frustrating here. We moved very slowly. We stopped often due to someone needing something. The pics and previous reviews had us starry eyed for a fun horseback ride with 6 other people. Instead we got a stop and go walk with 16 people. As mentioned in other reviews, they make you pay gratuities in advance. I knew it was coming and didn’t care at the time but after the haphazard experience I wouldn’t have tipped. We might have got them on a bad day but it didn’t live up to any expectation I had.

Beautiful trail, food was...

Beautiful trail, food was really good, horses had alot of personality, and the wranglers were great with our kids.

Standout Trail Ride to Cap a Vacation Out West

Kristen_S, Jun 2025
Everyone at the ranch was friendly and helpful, and our guide Sofie was truly exceptional. We were a group of ten—including four kids—and honestly weren’t sure how well a trail ride would go with that many people and varying levels of experience. But wow, did it exceed our expectations. Riding through the Tetons with those views was unforgettable, and Sofie’s calm, upbeat leadership made all the difference. She had our city kids feeling like real cowboys by the end—they didn’t want it to be over! The dinner was also very good. Most of us had the steak, which was cooked well, and a few of the kids opted for the chicken. The only issue—and unfortunately, it left a sour note on an otherwise amazing evening—was the dessert. Our group was last to go through the cookout line, and by the time we got there, there were only three servings of cobbler left for ten people, including four young kids. When I mentioned it to the staff, they basically shrugged and said someone probably went back for seconds. That was it—no apology, no offer to make it right, not even a basic acknowledgment that it was a problem. It wasn’t about the cobbler itself, but about the lack of accountability. When you're paying close to $2,000 for a premium trail ride and dinner experience that includes dessert, it shouldn’t fall on guests to explain to disappointed kids why they don’t get one. This could’ve been handled so easily—some concern, a gesture, anything. Instead, it felt like we were just out of luck. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the ride itself, especially with Sofie—but I do hope the ranch takes a closer look at how they handle the small details that leave a lasting impression.

Fantastic trail ride and dinner!

What an awesome experience! We enjoyed the horse ride and a great steak dinner overlooking the Snake River. We will do it again!

Love, love, loved the horse back ride and dinner. Worth every penny!!! Would do it again. Staff was very nice

Giddy up!

Mark_B, Jun 2025
Overall, a very good trail ride! The scenery is gorgeous, the staff is super friendly and helpful and the food is pretty decent - well seasoned and prepared. The cut of steak could be a bit better but it is flavorful. It’s a beautiful ride around the Snake River and Buffalo Valley with profusely blooming wildflowers in early June. We had perfect, cool weather. We had well behaved horses overall, some a little more spunky than others but the staff helped with managing them. One mishap occurred when one of our member’s saddle rolled and the guides were able to assist with getting him back on his feet. Fortunately, only a scrape. It is definitely worth the few hours and the ride! As someone mentioned, the company does require a gratuity when you arrive, not included in the advertised price.

Nice trail ride and wonderful meal

Brenda_N, Sep 2024
Our dinner ride was great. It ended up being just the two of us and our wrangler. We had a complete two hour ride and then a wonderful steak dinner with ver generous and delicious sides. We had apple pie to complete the meal. We enjoyed talking with our Wrangler the whole time. Nice evening.

Ride 2024

The ride was fabulous and views were amazing! We had a great time with Piper as our guide. The steaks were very tasty also! Thank you!

Amazing for the whole family!

Terra_P, Jul 2024
It ended up being a private ride since the other people that signed up never showed. It was a beautiful 2 hour ride around the mountains with amazing views. We went down some steep terrain but all of us including a 9 and 11 year old did it easily. The wrangler, Lucy, that led us was amazing and super friendly. She answered all the questions from our 9 yo who talked almost the entire 2 hours. The dinner was good. The kids said this was amazing and my daughter was ready to stay there and become a wrangler. This is a peaceful and beautiful ride!

Beautiful Views, Hair, Gratuity

Marci_C, Jul 2024
Start with the pros- amazing views. Literally the country is beautiful and the ride is up through the foothills behind the ranch with views of the valley and Tetons in the distance. It is absolutely stunning. Dinner was overall tasty. The ride was good. It was an up and back ride. The hands were helpful and attentive. The cons- there was hair in my food. I might chalk it up to a fluke except for the group sitting across the table from us saw me pull it out and said she had found one in her food too. Also when we arrived to check in for the ride we were told that there was a gratuity of $66 (there were 3 of us) that was due prior to the ride. That was fine. I expected to pay gratuity in cash to the guides on the ride. When I told the guide thank you and that we had already paid gratuity to the office for her she seemed confused and said that they don’t ever get a portion of gratuity from any card payments in the office. I’m not sure who gets the required gratuity the front office charges but apparently it is not the ranch hands that guide the horseback ride. It just left an unpleasant taste in my mouth and though the views were amazing I would probably look for another option rather than purchase this again.

A great date night!

Shelene_W, Jun 2024
The ride and cookout were a lot of fun. We aren’t inexperienced riders but haven’t ridden in at least 20 years. The horses wanted to follow one another so it wasn’t a fight to control them at all. We were at the very back of the group so it was hard to hear what the guide was saying. However, the important things she made sure we heard. She gave info about a local eagle’s nest, the aspen grove, and much more. She stopped and made sure we got our picture taken in front of a scenic spot. We stopped, dismounted, and enjoyed a wonderful tasting cookout with so many options! We chose the steak at medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. So tender that we easily cut it with plastic knife. The cookout happens off the trail at picnic tables and a campfire. There were s’mores to finish off the cookout. We were so full and satisfied. Then we mounted back up and headed back down to the lodge. It was great fun and a great date for my husband and I. We’ll definitely do it again and bring the kids next time!

Cowboys work in the rain!

Kathy_A, Jun 2023
Warm reception and beautiful horses. We were a group of 10 and there was a naughty horse who took advantage of his inexperienced rider, which held up the group quite a bit. One thing that could make this experience better would be matching horses to riders abilities. It rained on us for more than half of the ride and we were happy to have been offered the rain slickers, but all of us had frozen fingers. Lee was awesome! This was the most memorable, an amazing experience for my husband and I.
