Very awe inspiring trip. The actors did a wonderful job at playing the audience. They were funny. The train ride itself was just relaxing and being able to see elk close up. (We saw a herd) Being able to witness countryside you only see from a distance while driving, just seals the fact that God created all that for our enjoyment. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who doesn't want to drive and fight traffic. Yes the time is limited as compared to driving self, but it is worth it and entertaining.

Obstructed view from our 1st class seats, no option of sitting in the observation deck. I honestly felt like we were riding in a cattle car!
A train ride filled with beautiful scenery and entertainment. It's helpful if you can climb some steep steps getting on and off the train otherwise there is a lift if you need help.
Be aware of the weather, even on a bus tour! Be aware some of the itinerary may vary based on the bus driver. Th canyon was beautiful!
Loved everything about it! The shootout to start out the trip was perfect with wonderful actors. Jim was great with his “bad” jokes and the train entertainment was spot on for the moods going up and coming down. The Grand Canyon was definitely the wonder that it is and getting robbed on our 18th wedding anniversary topped it all off. 10 out of 10 will definitely do it again! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Directions were confusing. I was told I had purchased tickets and to print them. They were not tickets, I had to submit the papers to get tickets. That was the first confusion. More confusion-a wild west shot with gunfire freaked our service dog out-nobody said anything about a wild west show. prior to boarding the train. Worse, there were no directions about where to board the train. Nothing specific about the depot. Then there was the ride. I expected a quiet ride to the park. We got fiddlers, singers, a staged robbery, and other things that had nothing to do with the trip to the Grand Canyon . Suggestion-designate “quiet cars” for folks who want to relax and not be interrupted with entertainment. Disembarking the train became a nightmare. We had a first class ticket but customers cascaded into the aisles, probably to escape and we could not get into the aisles without knocking over some of the rude passengers. I will give a heads up to Nick-and the staff who tried but the disorganization was out of their control. Less you think it was just me, I had heard bad reviews to the entertainment and staged hold up.
I really wanted to like this more. The actual experience of riding the train was great. The cars are comfortable, bathrooms were clean, and there were some nice sights. There are a few price points so be mindful.
We did first class + tour and I feel like for what we paid the value wasnt there. It's not an inexpensive ride even with it being so close. I feel like I couldnt tell what the vibe was. Was it historical/informative? Was it primarily a performance? Were we an audience or passengers? Were the car employees there to inform or entertain? We also had an issue with kids just running up and down the stairs. I mean over and over it was alot. So much so that annoyingly they ended up in our paid photo. I would implore the railway to consider a kids/family car so they could run around as much as they'd like.
The western show before boarding was cute. The gift shop was great with clean bathrooms and alot of great gift options. The ride itself was uneventful for the most part. I did enjoy the musical performers coming and going.
The tour was ok. I thought for the time and price we could have had another stop. I also was annoyed to be dropped off back at the train tracks with only 1.5 hours and having to climb up with my group. It was also pretty impossible to hear the driver over the AC. Please inform people getting on to sit close to the front. We missed alot. I chose a train + bus tour combo because members of my group have trouble getting around, let alone going up a few flights of steps on the fly. It would of been way nicer to have been dropped off up higher and seemed entirely feasible to do so.
But I think my main gripe is the ride left me feeling alot of tension. I paid up for the experience because I wanted something a bit more leisurely and calm. IT was not that. The musicians and guides demanded attention, the photographer positioned us and we still ended up with a random kid in the middle of our shot, the employee had a penchant for putting people on the spot/teasing loudly.
So if I had paid for Coach I might feel differently but I didnt come away feeling like I had a first class experience at all.
Unforgettable trip had breakfast in Williams to start the day then a short drive to train depot to stay the trip. It was a slow ride, relaxing as we enjoyed the scenery. Once we got there the views were breath taking
If you buy the package with lunch the lunch isn’t on the train it’s at a restaurant at the Grand Canyon Plenty of snacks provided
The train needs Dr Pepper!!! The customer service was amazing. We had so much fun and so many laughs!!! Scott was the best PSA on the train!!!!
We purchased coach tickets, no extra tours, and no lunch. The train has a cafe car that sells food and drinks, but we never bought any, so I can't speak to how good the food on the train is. You're allowed to bring your own drinks and snacks aboard, and we did. Never saw the first class cars, but I hear the windows are bigger and the seats are plusher. Our seats in coach were like school bus seats and perfectly comfortable, imho. The train trip to the Canyon is 2h and 15 minutes each way. Included in your ticket is a 15 minute western show in the depot area before the train leaves. It's pretty cool. Once aboard, you get lots of helpful narration/info from your tour guide. Ours was Johnny Arizona and he was a hoot! He gave lots of info about the train itself, sights along the way, the state of AZ, what to do, see and eat at the Canyon, and how to plan your time effectively while you're there. And, of course, there were lots of jokes! There are also musicians who perform during the ride up and back, and there was even a staged train robbery! You get about 3.5 hours at the Canyon itself to explore on your own, or you can sign up for optional bus tours at the Canyon. We elected to explore on our own. The Canyon itself was truly awe-inspiring and so much more vast than I imagined. Worth it! On the way back, we saw lots of elk from the train near the Canyon. Very cool. Overall, I recommend this train trip.
Traveled to the Grand Canyon on the rail way. Highly recommend. Lunch was good, car was not crowded and bus tour was wonderful
We did 1st Class with tour and lunch. If traveling with children, make sure you see the show before the train ride. They tie together and make a fun ride both there and back. Both the morning and afternoon snacks on the train ride were good - there was something for everyone. Out tour bus met us at the train station and took us to lunch first. Lunch was buffet style - OK - again there was something for everyone. We went to 2 spots - both beautiful - before heading back to the train station. We had plenty of time to look in the shops and hotel before our train ride back. It was a wonderful experience. The kids on our car (ages 5-11) made friends and joined together in all the fun. They had a great time!

Grand Canyon was amazing!
The ride was comfortable. The scenery was pretty flat and typical until we got closer to the canyon where we entered the woods; saw two elks with large racks. We disembarked below the top and walked up to the canyon rim, there are not words for your first glimpse of this. It’s so large and so beautiful that it’s hard to get your mind around it all. There are several gift shops, hotels, historic displays, and restaurants to poke around in plus native lore and demonstrations as well. You had three hours to take it all in before the trip back. The ride included musical guests and a reenactment of a train robbery which was pretty lame but fun for the kids on board.
As I said, definitely worth the trip.
It was an amazing experience the staff in the train are really nice and the entertainment is fantastic. We really enjoyed it.
This excursion was more than top-notched and is the best we have ever taken. From start to finish this was an amazing adventure; starting with before boarding the train; there was a little 15 min show (only problem on this was the speakers were not very good, so it was hard to understand them) The entire trip to the Grand Canyon was nothing more than impressive! Noel was our train car host. She was engaging, funny and kept our interest! We took the grand tour which was a bus that went to two stops around the Grand Canyon and to my surprise was also provided a lunch buffet. Upon returning from the Grand Canyon we were treated to a mandolinist and a violinist and a visit from the "actors" from the pre-board show who "robbed" the passengers! If I could give this a 10 star I would! I highly recommend this excursion.
The train moves at a moderate pace. Jonny Arizona was the narrator on our cart. We loved learning all the facts about the area. He had great jokes. His whole show kept a great pace for the trip, both ways.
Make sure to arrive early. They leave at exactly the time they say they are leaving.
Also, our host, Craig was very informative and funny. I don't think the train ride would've been as enjoyable without him.
When you get to the Grand Canyon, you get about 3 1/2 hours to explore and enjoy all the beauty of it.
We chose the lowest package where you don't get lunch, but it was perfect for us because we just purchased what we wanted in the café on the train. Also, they did provide entertainment to make the time go by. But the ride alone was so beautiful, if you love nature. We will definitely do this again. Hopefully we'll get Craig again!
Everything was excellent
The only advice is the those shows we saw they should have a machine so clients give tips. Very few Cary cash now

Definitely a must do. Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable about all the aspects of the canyon. Cheryl was our train car guide and she kept things fun and eventful with her stories.
Lots of fun for families. Nice café car with sandwiches and snacks and drinks. Wine and beer are also served
The ride into the park was slow and relaxed the train does 40mph at its fastest. If you’re a family with younger kids it’ll be great as there is a lot of yelling. Our carriage entertainment was fun although when you’ve already spent a small fortune on tickets the rest seems like a bit of a money grab.
Taking the train made for a relaxing a fun trip from Williams to the Grand Canyon. There was a lot of information and entertainment.
I would recommend this experience to everyone who would truly enjoy a train ride and a view of the Grand Canyon and very great entertainment. 😀

You should Get the upgrade ticket . Try and get Cheryl and Will to take care of you while you are on the train.
It was a long ride but enjoyed it. The ride back we like alot better in carr D, the speaker made it much more fun with his cow jokes. He was awesome. The ride up was boring. The speaker barely talked. Was no fun in car A.
The train ride was amazing. We recommend coach. Our hostess Sheryl kept us entertained and gave us a historical picture of the area as well as the train. She’s a keeper!
Great experience, very well organized, fun time with train staff, yummy snacks & drinks available, lunch provided. Some of the seats are positioned more at a wall than a window, so the view is obscured; this was not expected from the advertisement for First Class seats & the price we paid.
