This by far was the best tour we booked! I was expecting the generic touristy type of tour but Ferenc made the tour so special. From his deep historical knowledge to incorporating it into how it shaped their culture and even political views today! My husband and I heavily recommend this tour to anyone. And the coffee and cake location was on the tourist trail, but it was definitely charming and authentic. If you book this tour, I recommend asking for Ferenc. Honestly just the highlight of our vacation!

Our guide Fanni was very knowledgeable and did a great job on our tour. It was a relaxed pace and we were fortunate to observe the cherry blossoms. The cake shop was yummy. Fanni picked us up at our boat and got us back after a fact filled tour.

Our tour guide, Esmet picked us up promptly at 9 o’clock at our hotel and walked us through our neighborhood, pointing out various sites and giving us hints about what sites we might want to visit as well as good food recommendations on popular local delights. She directed us to retro Langos, which was delicious, and then to the First Strudel House of Budapest for some different strudel. You can see them making it and offer several varieties Traveled up to Buddha castle, and she took us throughout the grounds, explaining everything, very knowledgeable about the history of Budapest. Our tour culminated at a typical coffeehouse, where she ordered coffee and cakes for us, and then departed. The cakes were phenomenal as was our tour guide. We would recommend her highly! Hope you’re lucky enough to get her!

Ferencz was a fantastic guide, knowledgeable and friendly. He was also able to adjust on the fly: when we told him we'd already toured St. Stephens -- a large part of any castle district tours -- he focused more on the things we hadn't seen and on Hungarian history. Ask for him if you can.
