Admire the glass-topped vessel and step aboard. Find a seat in the cabin and enjoy your first views of Budapest from the water as you set sail along the famous river.
Cruise southward past the UNESCO-listed Danube riversides, absorbing the lamplit waterfronts of Buda and Pest, and sailing under the floodlit Elizabeth Bridge and Liberty Bridge.
Admire the panoramic views of the Buda Castle district, making out the twinkling Royal Palace, and learn about the sights from the onboard film and recorded commentary (available in 30 languages). Highly recommend taking this cruise. The views were amazing, the beautiful city of Budapest all light up at night. The commentary was great too. We had issues with our booking, which were dealt with swiftly and we also took a wrong turning from the bridge and was half an hour late for our selected booking, but this was quickly amended for us for the next sailing. We would definitely do this on our next visit to Budapest.

We had this trip pre booked with Viator. The directions were very helpful but when we arrived there were hundreds of people waiting for cruises. There was no organisation. Nobody knew which boat they were supposed to queue for. We missed our 8pm boat because of this.
Get there early so you can get a good seat. We were outside for a more unobstructed view and it was spectacular.
Arrive early so you can sit upstairs. Make sure you go after sundown as the lights on the castle and Parliment are beautiful
Very crowded boats. Herded on and off like cattle! The “included drink” was not very good. Upper deck is way too small and fills up fast. Lower deck has panoramic glass but you can’t get good pictures. Community headphones likely don’t get cleaned between rides. Commentary didn’t always line up with location and hard to hear over crying babies and such. Would not recommend for a relaxing cruise on the Danube.
The views were spectacular from the boat, especially loved the ones when all the lights were turned on in the city! Wonderful pictures, loved it!
This evening river cruise did not disappoint. We went just at sunset so we got the colorful sky and then shortly after starting all the lights came on! It was a beautiful 1 hr. Cruise and the welcome drink was a nice touch. Boats ran on time and staff was organized and helpful. The audio guide was informative, but hard to hear up top when competing with the party boats also on the river. I would definitely recommend the cruise to s friend!
8:20 is a good time to take (if you can get it) Also, get to the dock as early as you can to line up when boarding. Try to sit at the front of the boat for best viewing. Its a smooth as silk boat ride
There was only one tv monitor. Headphones were broken. While the views from the boat were nice and the audio informative, the boat itself could use some updating.
The river at night is the best way to see the city. The seats were comfortable and the commentary was interesting. Get there early so you can choose where you want to sit. One drink each.
Fantastic quick intro to Budapest. Seeing the city from the river as the sun was going down and the lights were coming up was the best way to see it all, whilst sipping on a glass of Champagne....
The cruise was fantastic. They were efficient and they played a film that discussed the history but behind what you were seeing.
Great experience with audio and video and choice of beer, wine or champagne. Top level filled up very quickly do get there early if you want to sit up there! We were on the bottom level and it was just fine!
We chose this for our first evening on our first visit to Budapest- it’s a great way to get into “the vibe” of Budapest.

I do truly recommend this tour, the views from the water are incredible. It does have an audio guide so the vibe is very quiet and most ppl are listening so it’s very mellow. Overall recommend but also wish it was more talking and you could buy a second drink
Get to the meeting point on time. Suitable for the elderly, although there are a couple of steps here and there. Takes you up and down the Danube, with views of all the wonderful architecture and especially the beautiful parliament building. Music and commentary ok if your hearing is good. Drinks arrive quickly and it’s a lovely evening. Definitely helps if the weather is good.
This is a brilliant way to see the great sights of Budapest at night. In just over an hour you see all the main bridges which look amazing lit up but the best comes last when you see parliament, honestly one of the most beautiful buildings in Europe and especially when it is dark and all lit up. My only advice is to get to the boat early because when we got there about 15 minutes before the sail time it was really busy so maybe get there for 30 mins before so you can get the seat you want. We still got an outside one but it’s worth thinking about getting there earlier. Don’t let any queues put you off. It’s really slick boarding and everyone gets on in 10 minutes!
Beautiful experience! Definitely try to get to your booking early so you can be near the front to get a spot on the upper level of the boat (right hand side!) for the best views.
Beautiful river cruise! Highly recommend! Offered beer, wine, or soda. Staff was professional and everything ran smoothly. If you are in Budapest you must do an evening river cruise.
A “must see” experience in Budapest. The view from the river at night is incomparable. The beauty is hard to fully describe. A glass of bubbly made it complete, and the history was interesting. But the view under the lights was enough all by itself, and should not be missed
It was a good experience but not the best river cruise experience I have had. Need to offer the people on the boat the ability to enjoy themselves and purchase beverages after the 1st included one.
Budapest is amazing at night. — Iconic buildings glowing in the golden light. Champagne, a short cruise… what’s not to love?
Good way to see the beautiful city at night, but the audio tour wasn’t the best and the drinks were tiny

Very clean and spacious boat along with very talented. Servers with apparently great memories as they took orders for drinks and inevitably had them correct
This was an excellent experience! It was bought as part of a tour for a friends stag do & we all enjoyed it. A evening booking is the best time. The only bad bit was the audio could possibly do with tweaking & modernising. Also the headphones were hit & miss whether you had a working pair. Also possibly a better choice of complimentary drinks! Otherwise a great must for a trip to Budapest!
Great experience. Beautiful Full moon night view from river during the evening is impressive, only bummer was a family with small child who screened and cried relentlessly was very annoying, Boat staff did nothing to assist or escort child (with mom of course) to the read of the boat. Approximately 100 + passengers were all annoyed too. There should be a procedure to handle such occurrences
Our cruise left at 8:20 pm so it was dark enough to enjoy the backlit buildings on both sides of the river. Lower water levels didn’t seem to impact the route. Quick boarding, good sightseeing seats and a complementary beverage (beer/wine/soda) made for a pleasant experience! Would definitely do it again.
There were a ton of crying babies and drunk people near us. They were all so loud that you could not hear the recorded tour. When you could hear it, it did not match up with what we were seeing. Find a tour that has a live person speaking. I think maybe people would be quieter and less rude. BTW the sparkling wine was not good. Few people on the boat drank it all the glasses were still full at the end.
Budapest is beautiful from the river. You were fortunate to have half the two during Light and half the tour in the dark. I thought it was amazing!
It’s ok. The boarding process could have been more welcoming. It was hot and crowded as we were asked to lineup and wait indoors (no air conditioning or fans). It was hot and uncomfortable in the boat as well. The windows were not clean either. It’s a busy season so it’s understandable.
Having said all that, most of the stars are for the lit up buildings and structures.
