We really had a great time. The local dancing was really good and the musicians were amazing. Food was very good also. Definitely a must do and see. So nice to see the parliament building etc all lite up at night!

Great experience to see the city from the river at night. Beautiful views with all the lights. Entertainment on board was great and the food was nice. Drinks were also reasonably priced. Would do this again if returned to Budapest.

What To Expect

In the evening, make your way to your meeting point along the Danube river where your dinner cruise is waiting for you. Hop aboard, and toast your fellow shipmates with two welcome drinks as you view Budapest’s panorama, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Many of Budapest’s notable sights are showcased along the river, and you have a front-row seat to admire the glowing Buda Castle and the Freedom Monument. You also pass the the Chain Bridge, a suspension bridge that spans the river and connects Buda and Pest, and the Gellért Baths.

A buffet-style dinner with a drink is included, and you can also upgrade for a wine-pairing experience. Listen to live folk music as you take in all the sights, history, and culture that this sparkling city has to offer.

Finally, after your time on the water, return to the dock, where the tour ends.

Sadly, a waste of time and money

This event was the worst I have had the misfortune of attending. Very disappointed. The vendor did not provide any indication that there was to be a special line and had the wrong name of the boat Nearly wasn't allowed to board....had to get special permission form "gate keeper". While the ambiance of the dining venue was very nice there was no air and temps in mid 20s C. There was zero organization or directions for the flow of the crush of guests all trying to get to the buffet. Had lines going both ways on the same sides, people cutting in and arguments began . The food was barely warm. The roasted chicken thighs were so well done they were dried out and hard on the edges. The beef stew was not evenly cooked ..some of the meat tender, some dry and hard like nuggets. The grilled veggies were total mush. Had to wait 20 minutes for water. Music was very nice..very talented musicians. The folk dancing was the exact show I have seen 2x before. In some with the same dancers. Isn't there some variety of traditional folk dancing? No one ever stopped at table to inquire if I wanted or needed anything. Service was very spotty and not professional at all. Would absolutely not recommend to anyone

It an outdated tour system of getting people like herds into a boat and shove everything down thier throat in actually 1.5 hrs. With really no focus on experience or quality of the food. Wine was the only good part of the experience. But never again or suggest anyone to go for this tour.

Overall the evening was lovely. For a buffet, the food was actually really good and tasty, there was a nice variety and plenty of everything. The dancers were engaging and fun to watch. They made a point to come to each table several times and were very attentive. The cute band also was fun and did a great job. They also came around soliciting requests. This trip is expensive, but I think worth it as it is dinner, a show, and a cruise in one. One thing to be aware of though, and why I didn’t give it 5 stars, is that you will be nickel and dimed all evening, in a way that we found surprising given the cost we’d already paid. Your ticket gets you a welcome drink and dinner, and that’s it. There is not even water available without a price. They charged for water and lemonades, added a service fee and a suggested gratuity, and the band and dancers solicited for tips as well. We were caught unaware and pooled together every dollar we had, including American and Euro for all the extra tipping. I would still recommend this dinner, just be aware.

Everyone that served was very nice and welcoming. The musicians went around and played requests and they were very good. Simple food but plenty to eat and the chance to get gorgeous photos made the evening complete.

Make sure you get on the right boat! Joined the line and almost ended up on the Sip and Sail .... Very nice waiter at dinner, made sure I wasn't ignored. Charlie? The buffet was a little chaotic when it opened as folks just charged into the line wherever , but the food was good and plentiful. I didn't see Langosh, though, and was hoping for that. Scenery was magnificent - totally worth taking the cruise!

It was a lovely cruise to end our first day in Budapest. The staff were really nice and welcoming. And the artists were awesome. The musicians and dancers also spent time individually on each table. The food was good as well where we tried Hungarian dishes. I wish if there was more variety but that was a minor point given all the things this cruise had to offer.

E had an amazing time on the dinner cruise. The food was very good, better than expected. Budapest is beautiful at night and it was a great introduction to the city on our first night here. I would recommend this for anyone who enjoys a good dinner with a view.

Dinner was great and on a boat that was very smooth. The dancing and music was fum and entertaining. The string trio and the dancers even stopped by every table for a more personal experience. The food was also very good with both enough meat and non-meat options.

The boat was comfortable, the food was lovely (but not for fussy eaters). There was audio descriptions for the sites but we didn't find out about this till after the trip had finished. Our waiter was rude - he had a section of tables and serve all but ours. We had to ask the glass collector for a drink and then he came. The musicians and dances were good.

I booked the 3 course dinner, which on the description said vegan option was available, and discarded the buffet option exacly due to that. When it felt like dinner should start to be served, I had to ask two waiters (the first one had no idea what I was talking about) that informed me that was no vegan 3 course dinner (or non vegan whatsoever) and took me to the buffet to certify me about what could be vegan. He was very helpful. However we felt that it was an expensive experience, due to this buffet situation.

The views of Budapest’s monuments are breathtaking at night when the lights are lit with unobstructed views from the ship. There was an amazing quartet of a violinist, violist, bass player, and traditional Hungarian cimbalom who plays amazingly well. As a family of musicians ourselves we could tell they played together for a long time and they play at a professional level. At the end, they went table to table, and no matter what piece a table requested (classical or modern), they were able to play it. Amazing! As if the evening was not entertaining enough, there was an outstanding father daughter duel who performed traditional Hungarian dances. Impressive fancy footwork for the gentleman, and amazing balancing skills for the young lady (go watch it to see what I mean). What an unforgettable evening to remember Budapest by. (be sure to bring some change to tip the performers, they did not ask for it, but are most certainly appreciative of it, and definitely well deserved. They work very hard for their living !)

Live music was good! It was a buffet style dinner instead of a three course meal but the food was good. the ride was good and allowed for plenty of time to take photos. The 1900 booking in the winter ensured the sun was down by the time you went past the parliament building.

Lot of people, as dinner was as buffer style, there was lot of people waiting in row just that to take food. After certain time you could go without problems to food, but some of them were finished. Food itself was 50/50 in quality and taste. For such value of money, I was expecting a little higher quality level.

Be in the line at least an hour before if you want a window table. Even then our host wanted to place us on a middle table beside buffet counter with many empty window tables so please insist on getting it. Queue up for food very early as food gets over in 10-15 mins and they take a long time to replace and sometimes refuses to replenish. Maybe better to take a normal cruise which comes at much lower rate and have dinner at a good restaurant.

The food isn’t great, very limited options and very bland. The choices were 2 soups, 1 potato thing, gnocchi , and stewed beef, bread. That is all. But you can get good photos with parliament and the music entertainment was great. The staff are friendly and helpful. Overall I would just get a boat tour without the food.
