Itinerary
Your morning or afternoon tour begins with pick-up from your hotel at a time of your choosing. Traveling in the comfort of a luxury Mercedes Benz vehicle and accompanied by a private guide, set out to take in the highlights of Budapest.
Admire the views along the UNESCO-listed Danube riverfront, browse the stalls at the Central Market Hall, and explore the Jewish Quarter, home to Europe’s largest Synagogue, then continue to City Park to see the historic Széchenyi Bath, the largest thermal bath in Europe. Along the way, stop to take photos of landmarks such as the National Museum, the Parliament building, Western Railway Station, Vajdahunyad Castle, and Heroes Square.
Jump out to stroll down the elegant Andrassy Avenue, home to the lavish Hungarian State Opera House, then take a peek inside the opulent St. Stephen's Basilica. Continue across the Chain Bridge to Buda for a tour of the medieval castle and follow your guide around Trinity Square, Fisherman’s Bastion, and Matyas church. After snapping photos of the grand Buda Castle, which dates from the 13th century, head to Gellért Hill for an unbeatable panoramic view of the city and the Danube River.

This tour might seem expensive but it is worth every penny. We were met in our hotel reception by our driver/guide Arkos who was extremely friendly and guided us to our beautiful BMW 7 Series vehicle with complimentary water which was very welcome. Absolutely luxurious vehicle and very clean and comfortable. We advised that on previous days we had already been to a number of places listed on the itinerary and he explained that as this was a private tour we could decide where we wanted to go. We wanted to spend the most time on Buda side as we love history. Fortunately Arkos has a degree in history and his knowledge and enthusiasm in sharing this knowledge was outstanding and made the tour so much more interesting. He was genuinely happy to be showing us around and he so loved his job. An absolute gentleman and scholar. He took us to places that you would never find on your own. A reflection of his local knowledge having been born and bred in Budapest. We ended our tour on the Pest side of the city which gave us ideas as to where to visit the next day. The four hour duration went very quickly and we wished that we had booked for longer. Great that we could pick our own itinerary and how much time we spent in each location. Thoroughly recommend this company and especially Arkos as your guide / driver.

We had a private luxury sightseeing tour in Budapest and visited Szentendre, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip.
Our guide, Christine Teplan, was fantastic — incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and made everything feel easy and personalized. You can tell she really knows the history and the area, but she explains it in a way that’s interesting, not overwhelming. I would absolutely recommend her.
Our driver, Laszlo, was also great — very professional and made the whole experience smooth and comfortable.
Szentendre itself was charming and a perfect escape from the city — beautiful streets, relaxed atmosphere, and great places to walk, eat, and explore.
Overall, it was a seamless, well-run experience and I’d absolutely recommend it.

How did four hours go so quickly? Christine Teplan (and our driver, Akos) were amazing: tons of historical knowledge and unfiltered explanations to our questions. This tour was excellent because we saw all the major sites in a condensed period of time. We learned about Hungary’s complicated history but were not overwhelmed with too much information. We also were able to add stops (Kolodko statues, Puskas memorial) which made things even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this tour!

Great tour - excellent overview (driving and walking) of Budapest's must-see places. Our guide, Zoltan, was fantastic. We learned a lot about the history of the city, modern day Hungary, food favorites and additional locations to explore. Plus Zoltan had recommendations for restaurants and tips for navigating the city. We were impressed with the tour and city. We were also thankful that the tour start time as well as the itinerary could be customized.

We were two couples that had a very interesting guided city tour in Budapest . Our guide was Christine Teplan. She is a great guide - knowledgeable , kind, attentive and she knows how to plan the route of the tour and the explanations in accordance with the preferences of the group. Our driver was Laslo. We had a great tour. Guide took us to many great sights and explained what we were seeing. We were tired and didn't want to walk a lot and he accommodated us by stopping at each sight but not lingering. We enjoyed his knowledge and his pride of Budapest.

My wife and I recently took a private, 1/2 day tour of Budapest with Akos. The first thing, he was on time and arrived in a very comfortable BMW. In fact he came early. He then took us on an interesting tour of all the significant sites on both Buda and Pest.
In very short order we were impressed with the breadth of his knowledge, simply the amount of information that he retained. He was also very familiar with all the local restaurants and places to shop. He introduced us to a cafe which was famous for “langos” - it was delicious!
We were extremely happy that he was our guide. His English was excellent and we learned so much about Budapest in a short period of time He was also very considerate and courteous. We would use him again without hesitation and gladly recommend him.

Christina with Sweet Travel Private Tours met us promptly in the lobby of our hotel. We were 2 senior couples traveling together. We had never seen Budapest, but our friends had been a number if years ago. Christina was very personable and engaging and assured us the tour would be tailored to our needs and interests. She was very knowledgeable about the Buda and Pest parts of the city and all of the special places and history of the city and the people.
Our driver was also very friendly and the car quite luxurious and comfortable. He and Christina were both very thoughtful and accommodating in taking us as close as possible to the sights where we would have to walk and/or climb stairs the least to enter special buildings and see the best views of others.
Christina was very open to all our questions about the culture, the history, the government and even the more personal ones. We had so much fun with her and enjoyed every moment of our tour. I highly recommend this tour with Christina as your guide.
