I like the fully automated (via phone) scavenger hunt. Never done one before and my wife and I had a blast! Appreciated the help from the staff and the opportunity to meet some cool people along the way!

It was difficult to navigate. Most of the people we had to interact with were nice- the guy at Jo’s coffee was rude. I have no idea why the charge for this was over $25- I could have walked around myself and probably seen more. Huge waste of time and money.

Floating City and Gucci Goodwill. Never would have experience those without doing this Scavenger Hunt. Austin has such beautiful areas that even if you seen some of the "stops" on our hunt it's worth seeing them again with this twist. We had a person with a physical handicap so couldn't do this as fast as most. So the competition aspect didn't apply to us but that didn't matter, it was still so fun. We plan on seeing the other stops throughout the weekend.

The scavenger hunt was not updated for the day of the week nor for the season. On our first stop we wasted so much time looking for something that was not even there due to the change in seasons. At another stop we were to ask the store owner a question about that day's task and the answer given with no enthusiasm was "that was done yesterday." Plus parking at most stops was sparse; so this made the hunt even less fun. The instructions were unclear as to how points were earned or even why you wanted to earn points. Asking us to dress up at a goodwill store using items we were not going to buy was just a rude and inappropriate request. .

This is not a scavenger hunt. Essentially, they provide you with a list of "missions" (listing all the places to go, things to do) and then they assign you points when you do them. So it's the same as if you googled "Things to do in Austin" and followed the results, only you get fake points. I've gone on other Scavenger Hunts before where part of the fun was doing puzzles to figure out where you are going next. NOT THIS. These missions (again, which are given to you), are more filled with embarrassing (or as they call it "creative") things to do, and then you do them. There might have been 1-2 puzzles on the list. My parents were in town for my birthday so we thought this might be a fun thing to do, but the moment we were given the list, we took one look and said no thank you. Waste of money, but you live and your learn.

We can assure you that if you try the hunt and don’t quit at the very beginning, you’ll understand how it works, have a blast, and experience a wide variety of curated VIP experiences that are just for our hunters. You have to visit each place in order to find out what awaits you, as it’s an immersive experience like no other, that unfolds as you progress. It is also an interactive creation among the hosts, the motivated and positive minded guests, and the wondrous city itself. Dare to experience the serendipity and unbridled joy that’s always a part of the endeavor, but you have to participate and bring your creativity in order for the hunt to deliver tenfold, as it’s been doing since 2018 in our now 600 cities! It was unfortunate that the guest sent such hateful messages to our staff member, who was trying to work with her. It’s hard to review something you haven’t even tried. For that reason, we will enthusiastically save a free seat for you and an adventurous group for next time in any city!

So for my birthday we had a blast we started the afternoon doing a scavenger hunt that took us thru down town Austin I seriously recommend this for a day do your self a favor and plan for longer than the 2 hours. There is so much more fun to be had but we had a packed schedule for the day.
We did a fashion show in Goodwill, a musical number at Zliler Hillside theater, hiking to the Pennybaker Bridge overlook. Finding 1500 dollar Dimond back snake skin boots. And a peice of art from the gallery we went to. Legit LOVE Alley Kat Adventures and I do think we will do this again.
I will say we had one of our team break her leg the day before the hunt, and only being able the get a refund in the form of credit for a future hunt for her was a bit frustrating. But all in all awesome experience.

There was a technical difficulty with my starting message for the scavenger hunt. Customer service was so nice and handled the situation personally.

Don’t buy more than one ticket for your group.
This is very hands off. You will get a text of a pdf with places to go.
You will be asked to send proof photos to a group of strangers.
That’s it. Not worth the price for one person let alonemore than one.
Not sure why they charge per person other than greed. They only send a couple texts to one person in the group.

You would definitely need to participate in order to find out what the hunt is all about. You always have the choice of sending your photos to just your host. Our live interactive remote adventure coaches always introduce themselves and take great care of your group throughout the experience. I checked your communication thread and yours did. Unfortunately, your group didn’t participate beyond the beginning. You would need to complete the game in order to have the unique experience we offer. The vast majority of our guests have an excellent experience and we are so sorry you didn’t choose to join in on the merriment.

This was too expensive for what you get. Good for adults, couples and 15yr old and up. Not good for younger kids, not a normal scavenger hunt where when you get to a location you find something you keep. My 8 year old grandson was bored and upset that there was not a treasure at each location. Example- at the first place you get a ring with a plastic charm representative of that location, then at each place you get another charm to add to your ring-like a plastic pug face from art for the people, a donut from Gourdough’s donuts, a feather charm from The feather clothing store, a bat charm from the Bat statue ….you get the idea. So at the end you have pictures of the group at each location and kids have a plastic key ring with a plastic charm from each place which will make it a fun adventure for them too. Plus with the cost being $22.00 for each person, it would only cost you the company penny’s to do for the kids in the family AND then it would be a happy and fun adventure for the whole family! Without raising the cost! Thank you 😊
Response from Host, Mar 2022
We are sorry to hear your grandson did not enjoy the experience. The vast majority of kids on our hunts do. It sounds like you were all expecting treasures at every stop, which is not something we advertise or include at all. Nonetheless, we offered you a free future hunt and even a free pre-hunt consult to set you all up for success and we hope you’ll use it. While intrinsically rewarding, our hunts are great for all ages!

We saw very interesting places during the scavenger hunt. It's a great way to get out and about if you're active and competitive. It also offers many nearby locations so people can go at their own pace.
Michelle_P, Jul 2021
We were so excited to go on this scavenger hunt. The first three stops driving around Austin were fun and new. But the next few stops we’re all within 1/2 miles of a small area and kind of boring. I’d love to see these last few locations upgraded to be more prominent locations that are quality locations. We ended up bailing out as the fun of it all declined. But I will say the first 3 we’re great. The last 4 not so much.
Response from Host, Sep 2021
We are so sorry you didn’t get to experience the rest of our hunt! A hidden gem of a gallery with a great cause, a thought provoking new mural, a whimsical shop, an interactive art installation that many locals don’t even know exists, the great vibes of the SoCo neighborhood, and so much more awaited you. But one has to experience these hidden gems in order to appreciate them and in order to even know what we’ve curated for them! We welcome you to finish the game and update your review so that it will reflect a complete experience, rather than one that was barely begun. Email us to discuss a complementary gift from our company so that you won’t have missed out on an amazing adventure!

This is totally worth doing if there are areas of Austin you have always wanted to but never found the time. So fun!

Randomly finding the unicorn for the anywhere dare. All of the missions were super fun and funny once we saw them.
Brianna_H, May 2021
The scavenger hunt was great! Make sure to let people know they need a car AND traffic maybe bad going around the circle at Zilker Park, stay to the left if possible, we sat for an hour trying to get around.

Leah and Kat are the bomb!! We loved it, and would do it again! The challenges were fun and creative, had to face some of my fears...but totally glad I did! Highly recommend!

My husband and I had a great time visiting Austin and this scavenger hunt was such a great way to see the city! We were taken to cool places we wouldn’t have known about otherwise! It was well-organized and provided us with lots of laughs along the way. I would recommend this highly!

I am an Austinite and wanted to show someone who just moved here a good time and tour of the city in a fun way! Keep Austin Weird Scavenger Hunt did just that! We took the 2 hour tour and were able to complete most of the tasks in downtown and soco! The start of the hunt was picturesque. I did have a problem with booking, but Viator took care of it in the end.

We had so many laughs on this adventure! We saw lots of weird and crazy things that we normally would not have seen if we didn’t do the scavenger hunt!
