We did the tour that had about two hours in RijksMuseum, about 1 hr 45 minutes for lunch and then approx 2 hours in Van Gogh Museum. First-our guide, Cecile, was OUTSTANDING. She brought to life the Rijks museum, focusing on dutch and other realist, impressionist and post impressionist painters. the artwork in the museum was magnificent, and she really brought it together, along with the history of the influences of the Dutch East India Company, along with other commercial and individual patrons that built the arts in Amsterdam. During lunch we stayed in the museum and at at their restaurant. It was fabulous. The food was really excellent! We met our tour guide after lunch and went over to Van Gogh. That tour was different in that our guide (who had done extensive studies on Van Gogh) basically took us through his life, chronologically and through his paintings. I cannot stress enough how good she was and brought the museums to life.

My college age daughter and I had a wonderful day with Diana! We started at the Rijksmuseum and enjoyed an informative progression of art that included the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Dutch Masters/Northern European art and the big hitters like "Night Watch" and the "Milkmaid." FYI "Night Watch" is undergoing a multi-year restoration so the painting is behind a glass wall. It was fascinating to see the art restorer working on it though! Diana also took us to see the fabulous library which I asked her if we could see. The museum is really beautiful as are the grounds around it and the tunnel passage and it wasn't too crowded so it made for a really nice morning. Diana is incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much information about the art, artists and history of the time. It was just so fascinating! We breaked for lunch and had time to sit and enjoy a meal at the Cobra Cafe which was where we met for the tour so that was really convenient. We then headed over to the Van Gogh Museum which was absolutely stunning-the layout and floorplan really highlight and compliment his art. Diana shared so much information about van Gogh's life and works-she really knows her stuff and seemlessly guided us through each stage of his life and career. We had time to take pictures at each museum and we never felt rushed. This tour is a great way to see the highlights of each museum in a condensed time frame and it is even better if Diana is your guide!!

Our small group tour guide, Anna, was not only extremely knowledgeable about the art periods and particular artists and the paintings but had a wealth of inreresting stories about the back stories regarding the artists. All in all a wonderful experience.

Maria was our guide for both museums and truly exceeded our expectations. She was so knowledgeable about everything we saw, it felt like we were having a Master class in Art History. We were a bit hesitant the day might be too long, but it was just perfect; no doubt because of the quality and experience of our guide. It was a bit hard to hear in crowded areas but that was minimal. For hard of hearing I would probably suggest a larger group tour where the guide uses microphones/hearing devices.

Frank was great and very knowledgeable. We didn't have a lot of days in Amsterdam, so doing this tour really helped getting the most out of the two museums. However, I wished we started with the Van Gogh Museum first and the Rijsmuseum second so we could explore more of that one once the tour was over. On the other hand, going to the Van Gogh Museum second, gave us time to go through the ongoing exhibit for Matthew Wong and learn about this amazing artist. I recommend this tour.

We were so fortunate to have our amazing tour guide Jacopo. His zeal for art, knowledge of history, and skills as a raconteur had us laughing, pondering, and deeply appreciating the treasures of the Dutch Masters and the oeuvre of Vincent Van Gogh. Recommend eating at Rijksmuseum as the food and ambiance was excellent.

Anna was a fantastic guide. I'm a frequent art-goer but this was the only way we could get to the Van Gogh Museum, and I'm used to making my own way around. He was an encyclopedia of information about art, artists, paintings and history.
For me, this was the highlight of my Viator tour-our guide. Fortunately, I took this tour on a day when it wasn't as crowded as usual, but note that the museums are tourist packed now.

Van Gogh and Rikjsmuseum are two of Amsterdam's biggest and most important museums. Anna Nikolaeva, our very knowledgeable tour guide, not only highlighted the more famous works of art by the famous artists, but gave her own unique perspective on many of these masterpieces, and challenged us to see, feel, appreciate and imagine beyond what was painted on canvas. We love Van Gogh and Anna made us even love our tour more. Excellent way to see these attractions!

This was a great way to see two incredible museums. Both museums as are a number of others are all located nearby each other unlike some other cities. Our guide,Tijs, provided insights about the numerous items and artists we stopped to view in each of the museums. Highly recommend the tour when you’re in Amsterdam.

Paola was an excellent tour guide. She was attentive, making sure that everyone could hear and see well. The foldable tour chairs were a plus. Absolutely fantastic. Paola shared her knowledge and enthusiasm for art in such an engaging way. We all learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. I have a masters degree in art history (so somewhat knowledgeable) and her insight and explanations were spot on and added a lot to my understanding of Dutch art. Highly recommend!!!
