Go with Simon
We had a great day with Simon. He was knowledgeable and kept the tour interesting. Delft was lovely and the tour of the factory was something I looked forward to. In The Hague we were able to see the Royal Museum where the “Girl with the pearl earring “ was the best part of the day. Driving was something we didn’t want to experience, Simon did a great job.

Relaxing day in Giethoorn
There is a 1 1/2 hour bus ride to Giethoorn. It gives a nice countryside view and experience. You get to see the longest dike, some of the many wind turbines, lots of fields where they grow vegetables, fruits and flowers. We stopped at a local farmer’s market where we ate samples of the products, which were so good we bought several items. They were bottling cherry jam that day and it was so good we bought a large jar to take home! Giethoorn is a small village with many canals and you go on a one hour boat ride. You have about two hours to yourselves to eat lunch (not included), and walk around the village. We saw a stork in their nest while we were there! Our driver was named Fatti (not sure of the spelling), but he was very good. Our tour guide was Jay. Jay was very humerous and told us lots of information about the country and Giethoorn. He also had lots of “dad jokes”. Great way to spend a relaxing day after the hustle and bustle of the city - plus very few bikes to avoid! We enjoyed it very much.

Bruges is a magical, fairy wonderland.
Though the bus portion is long and arduous, we really enjoyed this tour! Bruges is absolutely stunning and we had a wonderful local tour guide who knew allll of the history. We recommend finding a restaurant off the beaten path for lunch. That’s the best way to find something more authentic and less crowded.

Check, check, & check ✅
All-in-one trip where you can check mark all your “outside Amsterdam” checklist (if you’re visiting outside of Tulip season). Windmills, Cheese Factory and tasting, Clog factory, and boating around the beautiful Giethoorn village. Pickup and drop-off was very convenient given I stayed at the next-door Mövenpick hotel. Great experience and shoutout to our tour-guide Raachid who was informative and very helpful. Highly recommended

Amsterdam is a fantastic base for exploring not only the Netherlands but also neighboring Belgium, as both UNESCO World Heritage-listed Bruges and the capital, Brussels, are easy Amsterdam day trips. Other great day trip options highlight Dutch country classics, from Keukenhof tulips to Zaanse Schans windmills via dams, dykes, cheesemakers, and clog factories. Try porcelain-making Delft, cosmopolitan The Hague, or Rotterdam, the Netherlands’ second city for a more urban day out. Whether your tastes run to food or culture, nature or history, there’s an Amsterdam day trip with your name on it.
