A highly positive experience of a walking tour with a knowledgable, humorous guide apparently loving what he does and being healthily proud of his city. We ‘ve seen some hidden spots in Amsterdam that do also tell an inner story of the town - a far cry from tedious monologues on the splendour of buildings and sovereign long gone and forgotten ;-)). I would certainly recommend a tour led by David R., our guide for that day

Our guide David has created a unique experience for his walking tour. Rather than focus on old buildings and churches, he emphasizes what it is like to live in the Netherlands and what it is like to be Dutch. You might visit the Van Stapele cookie store that has become wildly successful by keeping it simple and doing only one thing, but doing it very well. You may also visit the Het Begijnhof, a historic home for elderly women, exemplifying how the Dutch look after one another. This tour was a truly great experience and David has clearly put a great deal of thought into making it unique and informative.

David was a wonderful guide. In addition to pointing out key points of interest, he took us to areas we would never have found on our own. He loves history and art and told us the history of the city in an interesting way. We loved the small group. It was easy to ask questions and get around the city. He also provided us with a list of recommendations for the rest of our trip.

Loved this tour - both in general, as it gave us a great overview and enhanced understanding of Amsterdam (it's history, cultural, layout, etc), but also because of our fabulous tour guide, David. Not only was he highly knoweldgeable, but he was funny, kept just the right pace, provided lots of information but not too much, and overall made the tour all the more fun and engaging!

David was the most brilliant guide. We spent 3 hours listening, learning and laughing. Engaging, interesting and funny. We couldn’t have asked for more. It was the right pace and balance with my 14 year old absolutely loving the tour. An absolute must if you visit Amsterdam and just wish we were staying longer to be able to attend some of the other tours David offers. We will be back.

Small group. Diana was friendly and informative. Easy to locate inside the main entrance of the train station. She provided us with lots of information, took pictures, chose itinerary to avoid the large bus tours. This was an excellent small group tour.

David took us on a wandering route through Amsterdam's city center, sharing the history of the city - and his love for it along the way. I loved the old passageway near the Palace that was cleaned up and decorated by artists with images and symbols that reflected the canals. We walked around the Dam square area, the old medieval area, then the working class area, where we stopped in a “brown” pub for drinks. David's commentary was informative and entertaining! We saw the place where Heineken started, the old building where jenever gin was distilled, and the 1600s tasting room. The tour was a good overview of Amsterdam - the city and its culture. Thank you David!
