A trip to Giethoorn

The trip was better than expected. We were a party of 5 and we travelled in a small luxury coach. Our excellent bus driver, boat driver and guide was Rashid and he was super. Travel with him if you can!! Great opportunity to see the Dutch countryside, learn about land reclamation, the building of Dykes to hold back the sea water, great Dutch water management technology. We got to see and experience tulip fields up close. Giethoorn is very beautiful and interesting and the canal trip is very relaxing because the boats are run on electricity and therefore very quiet. Go on a small boat if you can, there were just 6 of us with Rashid on the boat. Go outside peak season if you can as it becomes extremely crowded in the summer months.

He was personable, funny, and extremely helpful. He took care of every detail and added so many extra special touches. Highlight of our trip!

100% should book if you’re active and loves the outdoors. This tour came recommended by a colleague and it was everything she said it was. I travelled with my husband and 13-year old daughter, and we did it on our last day of our trip. It was a great way to end our time, and a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle. Very informative and interesting tour

The tour was excellent. There was so much explanation that we would certainly not have otherwise known. Our tour guide Lili was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything clearly and in depth. She also had printed examples that again we would not have otherwise gotten a chance to see. Our one regret if the tour was not bringing cash to tip her so make sure you bring cash to tip her if you get her!!

Anna: Knowledgable Wasted no time but was comfortable and patient with us Covered the highlights Anna was a fantastic tour guide. She is extremely knowledgeable, no nonsense, and a gifted story teller. She was able to provide context and helped us draw connections we would never have understood without her expert guidance. The Rijksmuseum is amazing but very overwhelming (especially to first time visitors) and Anna made sure we got a great overview and that we understood how and why the masters are the masters. If we were to do this tour again, the only thing we’d do differently would be to allow more time to go back through and spend more time in the museum after our tour!

Fantastic boat tour!!!

Sebi is warm and friendly, knowledgeable and capable. He is entertaining and you feel as if you are the only customers he has ever had! He gave us a lovely tour of the canals and yummy food he stopped off to get from a restaurant he's known forever. All of us on the boat (we did not know everyone) had a great time. Highly recommend!

Ellie was great - highly recommended

Ellie was an excellent guide and took us all over central Amsterdam. At times it was quite a fast and physically demanding ride as she had to go to different places to avoid crowds during the final weekend of Pride. We really enjoyed it although the bikes were a little heavy and bashed up. An upgrade to the bikes would be an improvement.
