Very rich experience, anround and beyond Anne Frank. Our guide Caase is well prepared, knowledgeable and friendly. Walking Amsterdam with him gives a new depth more than meets the eye. VR experience was a good use of modern technology and allows the viewers a more immediate experience of the annex. It would not haven’t been as impactful if we just went to the Anne Frank house.

Great tour if you were not able to get into the annex. The virtual tour was awesome. Our tour guide Kaleigh was very knowledgeable and gave us a great tour. The only thing was I wish you were able to sit intermittently during the walking tour.

    Response from Host, Sep 2026

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We’re really glad you enjoyed the tour and Kaleigh’s storytelling, and that the virtual visit to the Anne Frank House added something special to the experience. Thank you for choosing Amsterdam Experiences.

    A Great Walk Through History

    Karen_G, Aug 2026
A great overview and review of the history of the Frank family. The virtual tour was well done and easy to use. The advantage to the virtual tour is that the rooms are shown furnished as remembered by those who were there and survived, including Anne’s father, Otto. The actual tour in the house does not have the furnishings.

    Response from Host, Aug 2026

Thank you so much for sharing this. Being able to see the rooms furnished as they were remembered does add an important layer to the story and helps make the space feel much more real. We’re delighted that this part of the tour stood out for you.

    Great tour

It's very hard to get Ann Frank house entrance unless you book well in advance and we didnt! This tour is probably better and we had a great experience with Guido our guide. He was very knowledgeable and informative about a grave situation, answering all our questions with thought and consideration. The walk was interesting and the VR experience amazing! You get to see the house exactly how it was and are not rushed at all. The actual house now is unfurnished but the VR display was furnished and very realistic. I would highly recommend this tour.

    Response from Host, Aug 2026

Thank you so much for this lovely review! We’re delighted you had such a great experience with Guido and enjoyed both the walk and the VR. It really does bring the story and the house to life in such a powerful way. We’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to Guido. Thank you for recommending us.

Family of 5 had an amazing experience

    DeborahW, Aug 2026
Finding the starting point for this tour is very difficult. I would suggest meeting in front of the passage way into the courtyard near the lizard sculptures. Otherwise, the tour was exceptional and engaged the whole family ages 11, 14, 40 somethings and 74. We were not able to get tickets for Anne Frank House, but this tour bridged the gap. VR experience was great.

    Response from Host, Aug 2026

Hi Deborah, I'm sorry that you found it difficult to find the meeting place, but we start at a very specific point that is relevant to the tour. The area that you suggested is also very busy with tourists and people hanging around, and is not a good meeting location for groups. The address that you had was correct; you just needed to go to the main entrance of the restaurant, rather than stand underneath a random window at the back of the building. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the tour once you located the group.

    Excellent Guide

The Best Anne Frank Tour in Amsterdam

    Andrew_M, Jul 2026
Absolutely amazing tour. Kees, our tour guide, was fantastic and provided us with a nice surprise family connection half way through the tour. Kees made for an unforgettable experience and really showcased the cultural significance of such a dark time in life. The VR experience at the end was worth every penny, as you got to see the house as it was in the 1940s with all furniture in place and got to experience the attic which is off limits during the in person house tour. 10/10, would absolutely recommend.

    Response from Host, Aug 2026

Thank you so much for this wonderful review. We’re thrilled to hear that Kees made the tour so memorable, especially with that unexpected family connection along the way. We’ll be very happy to pass your kind words on to Kees.

It got cancelled we didn’t get the message for me to see , the lady I then rang as we were waiting at the agreed spot did I then see the message that they cancelled and wanted to move to the next day but we are flying home awaiting our refund

    Response from Host, Jul 2026

We are sorry to read that you were disappointed that you were unable to take the tour with us. We reached out to you several days before the tour date to ask if you could do the tour on another day, but we did not hear back from you. When you called us on the morning of the tour we offered to move you onto another time slot. When you said that was not possible, we issued an immediate refund. If you have not yet received your refund, that is down to Viator/TripAdvisor, as they are the ones who need to release the funds.

    Highly recommend

I missed out on visiting the Anne Frank museum as it was all sold out. Decided to try this and it was INFINITELY way better. It was two and a half hour walk with an AWESOME guide , Case. We walked the path Anne took, starting from the prison where she was held after capture, past major landmarks, crossing the actual office where they hid and ending with a virtual reality tour of the attic. This was an amazing experience as unlike the museum, we could each individually tour the attic with all its original furniture, posters on the wall etc as well as listen to excerpts from Anne's diary. So so so worth it!

    Linda, Jun 2026
I would have liked to do the Virtual Reality portion only because we were experiencing pain in our feet and legs at the time. The end location was only about 2-3 blocks from where we were staying so I asked if we could skip the walking portion and meet with everyone at the end location. They said "No that is not possible". I did forfeit the cost, which I expected, but I don't understand why they wouldn't let us attend the VR portion. The space was available since we paid for it. Not happy, but accepting.

    Response from Host, Jun 2026

Hi Linda, we are sorry that you were unable to participate in our highly rated walking tour. The tour is designed to provide context and background to the events leading up to the family going into the hiding place. The walking section of the tour is the main part. allowing you to retrace the route the family took on the way to the house. We do not offer the VR session as a standalone element. On occasions, we can accommodate late arrivals, as a goodwill gesture. However, as we explained over the phone, we do not know exactly when the tour group will arrive at the office where the VR segment takes place. On this occasion, there was no one at the office to meet you/let you in, meaning you would have potentially been waiting on the street up to 30-40 minutes until the group arrived. You stated that you didn't wish to do that, so unfortunately, it wasn't possible for you to join the group. The tour is very clearly listed as a walking tour, so we are a little surprised that someone who is unable to walk (as you stated on the phone) would book on a tour such as this.

    Anne Frank Virtual

    Beverley_A, Jun 2026
The virtual experience takes you further into the history of Anne Frank's house with viewing the rooms WITH furniture instead of going through the house with no furniture. Would recommend this experience to anyone who wants to have have knowledge of Anne Frank & family's last walk in Amsterdam & view her place she & family stayed.

    Response from Host, Jun 2026

Thank you, Beverley, for your kind review! It means a lot to us.

Case was a great guide. He did a wonderful job explaining the history of the area and how the Netherlands became such a safe haven for the Jewish people until the WWII Nazi’s invasion. The information and following Anne Franks foot steps was quite unique especially adding on the virtual reality experience. Would highly suggest you check this out.

I was a little anxious about having a virtual tour vs . However, my wife and I really liked it. We could roam the house at will, go back and relook at the rooms or relisten to the audio. Our guide, Chase, was excellent. We were happy with the experience and didn't feel that we missed out by not going into the actual house. No crowds either!

    Response from Host, Jun 2026

Thank you, Robert, for your compliments!

    Loved the VR

    Tim_W, May 2026
One of the best guides we have ever had anywhere. His knowledge of Ann Frank, WWII, Amsterdam was fantastic. And the virtual reality made that a "don't miss" tour, as it put you inside the house as it was at the time they were hiding.

We make it very clear that this tour does not take you into the Anne Frank house. It's stated in the title and at least 3 times on the tour description. What part of the tour that you didn't attend was misrepresented?
