What are people saying about Salt Lake City

A Uniquely Beautiful Place with a Great Guide
Take this tour if you want to enjoy an afternoon in a uniquely beautiful location with a fun and informative guide! The trip from SLC to the flats was almost as entertaining as being at the salt flats. Our tour guide, Dima, had super interesting and funny stories about Utah - the history, the Great Salt Lake, and more. We went in late October, after rain had fallen on the flats, so we were able to walk into the shallow water on them and take pictures. Lots of fun reflections! We also took a short hike up a hill overlooking the flats - wear comfy shoes - and we watched a dazzling sunset back down on the flats. During the whole trip, Dima worked to make sure everyone's needs were being met. He helped with picture-taking, made sure the temperature in the van was comfortable, answered everyone's questions, offered water and granola bars, and dropped us all off at our hotels in the city. He even ran after someone who'd left a book on the van to make sure they didn't lose anything.

Amazing experience!!
Amazing experience! Blake was absolutely fabulous!! We were so fortunate to have him for our tour guide! He went the extra mile to ensure we saw a huge variety of wildlife: pronghorn, coyote, bison (tons of bison), and a variety of birds! Blake went out of his way to answer all of our questions, teach us all about the island, take pictures for us, and just make it a great experience! We saw a magnificent sunset at Lady Finger Point. Lots of great information about the history of the area, including Salt Lake City. He offered excellent ideas for restaurants and other attractions in the city!! We would recommend this tour to any first timers to the area!

Nice way to get out on...
Nice way to get out on the lake for some additional beautiful views. You’ll also learn a bit about the lake ecosystem and history. The trip is on a comfortable pontoon boat and our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. If you don’t have a car and take an uber to the park, I would recommend reserving your pickup in advance as it is a remote location. We were fortunate to go on a beautiful, cool weather day, so flies were not an issue.

Add Antelope Island to your list!
My 13 year old son and I took this excursion. Dima was an excellent Antelope Island tour guide. He is a wealth of knowledge on the history of Salt Lake City and the unique ecosystem of the island. He is also amazing at spotting animals, going above and beyond for our group. A porcupine was crossing the road and ran into high grass and brush. Dima tracked it all the way to an upper tree limb so we could get a look at it. In the process, he also spotted a Great Horned Owl! We had no issues finding bison and got a bunch of pictures of them. The tour also included time at Fielding Garr Ranch, a beautiful lookout point where he took pictures of us on the rocks, and ended with a sunset climb to a high point overlooking the salt lake. I highly recommend! I have read comments from other guests about the climb up to the sunset view point and its difficulty. I would say it falls in the moderate category. There is a section when you are almost to the top that is steeper than the rest. The trail is rocky which was to be expected. If you have limitations there are other areas to watch the sunset and you can still see 50-60% of it without making the hardest part of the climb.

Utah’s capital city offers a great mix of activities, whether you’re spending time in the city or out in nature. The best-rated Salt Lake City tours include boating on the Great Salt Lake, taking in a Tabernacle Choir concert, looking for bison and antelope on the lake’s biggest island, or touring the city by foot, bus, bike, or trolley. Salt Lake City also makes a great base for exploring the region, with excursions to the Bonneville Salt Flats or Wasatch Mountains.
