Amazing experience. Crew were funny sweet and attentive. They really all your photographer, bartender, and all knowing nature guide. They got us to the best views and sailed to the sunny spots saving us from the rain while still finding the whales. They also gave us great recommendations for the next day to go kayaking to islands. Super amazing experience would totally do it again.

Experience one of Hawaii’s famous sunsets on a cruise along Waikiki’s coast. Board your vessel and watch the sky change colors as the sun starts to dip below the horizon. The Moana Catamaran is located on the south end of Kewalo Harbor, at slip D 108. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to check-in time. Best and easiest way to get to us is Uber, Lyft or cab. Very limited parking available in harbor. Additional parking available at ward shopping areas.

Itinerary

Begin your Hawaiian sunset cruise by heading to the south end of Kewalo Harbor to find The Moana Catamaran. It’s advised to arrive 30 minutes prior to departure so that you can maximize the time on the water.

Sail along Waikiki's coast, and enjoy breathtaking views of the sun setting below the horizon and enjoying alcoholic beverages. Capture the changing colors of the sky and the silhouette of Diamond Head, with opportunities to spot dolphins and, from November to May, majestic humpback whales.

This tour concludes back at Kewalo Basin Harbor.

Wonderful experience! The crew was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Even though the weather wasn’t perfect at first and it was raining, the team went above and beyond to take us to an area with sunshine and we even got to see whales! It turned into such a memorable trip. I highly recommend this experience.

So fun, crew was so awesome and accommodating! Kept checking on everyone. Wasn’t annoyingly packed, wasn’t a bad seat at all around the boat.

Lackluster and boring

It was quite boring to be honest. The crew was excellent and fun but really it’s just an expensive boat ride. Drinking water was nasty and cocktails were mid at best. We didn’t see any dolphins like they had said we might which we understand since they’re wild animals but there wasn’t much to look at aside from the coast. The “sunset” we got was a sliver in the sky under a cloud cover so that was lackluster as well. All in all I won’t book one of these excursions again next time we are here.

We had an amazing time on the Moana Sunset Cruise. The crew were all very accommodating and went out of their way to offer drinks, to collect empty cups and replace them with additional drinks, to take pictures of each group or couple, etc. They also pre-warned passengers when they were sitting in a part of the boat that was about to get wet, although many didn’t believe it until after they were already wet and moved on to another area. The cruise was smooth, the sunset was beautiful, and we thoroughly enjoyed the view of both the Waikiki skyline and Diamond Head. Highly recommend. Note: only the first drink is included with your ticket to board. Additional drinks can be purchased as needed.

This is 100% worth it! The crew was very friendly and always checks in on you. The drinks are great and the views are hands down the best part of it all from the sunset, mountains, city landscape and even the planes flying over. If you want to relax but are worried about filling your time up with excursions, this is a great combination of an adventure and extremely relaxing. Just sit back for 2 hours and enjoy the view!
