Shane was great! He gave us a complete history lesson on Ketchikan, the in and out and what life is like for the people in the area. I would highly recommend taking his tour. He even spotted a Bear at Herring Cove before anyone and made sure the other tour company knew a bear was in the area.

Our tour guide Rhionna, was a local. She had the inside scoop, we felt like we were having a personalized adventure just for us. We saw a black bear, Eagles, the local beach as well as Rainbow Waterfall. As well as much more. It was a perfect day. Wish we could’ve stayed longer.

Bears and knowledge.

Jane_B, Aug 2026
Our guide was very knowledgeable of city history the native people. Also was willing to deviate from the scripted tour to meet the wants and needs of the group.

Tour overveow

Trevor_C, Aug 2026
Excellent local knowledge and although we did not see a bear it did not in anyway damper our experience

Speak up and slow down!

Douglas_S, Aug 2026
The guide was very knowledgeable but he was older and did not speak clearly. He spoke rapidly and even after he was asked to slow down he didn’t. At 80 years old and a native Alaskan, he was a great resource but his communication skills are not good. Especially for the money charged.

Quick stops to see a lot of sites

Carrie_D, Aug 2026
The experience felt rushed and our driver spoke very quickly which made it difficult to understand him. We enjoyed the short stops but if you’re looking for an in-depth tour and not a quick overview, I’d pick a different excursion.

Wild animals in tour

jialiang_z, Aug 2026
Lots kinds of wild animals could be seen in this tour ,including black bears -bald eagles.-Salmon fish and visit Saxman artist working in 2.5 hours .Its an efficient tour for a short time stay in KectchiKen

Nice tour

Wojciech_B, Aug 2026
Beautiful countryside. The guide tried to share a lot of knowledge, but there can be some problems with understanding his accent if you are not a native speaker.

Five stars all the way!...

Hadasa_M, Aug 2026
This tour was everything we hoped for and more. Seeing bears, eagles, and whales all on one excursion was mind-blowing. The guide, Shane, was excellent and made the whole trip seamless.

First Nations guide spoke...

Dianne_M, Aug 2026
First Nations guide spoke so quickly and was hard to understand. Seemed disinterested and was just going through the motions of his spiel. Unfortunately for us the tide was out at herring cove but that is not the fault of the tour.

Worst tour ever!!!

Stephanie_S, Aug 2026
States 2.5 hr tour was only 1hr, 15min. Very short stops. Driver Norm 80 yr old, obviously hard of hearing. Gave canned speech quickly. And I mean Quick. Mumbled as well. Nice man but should not be your guide!! When asked question in the van he ignored one and glared at another. So realized we cannot ask questions as he couldn’t hear. Always saying hurry hurry have to be on schedule. The tour was very short. And the last 15 min was to drop me and others at hotel. I would’ve loved to have the tour and not include drives back to hotels. They don’t pick up at hotel. Very disappointed. Would like my money back!!!

Book this tour!!!

Rianna was our guide. She was was AMAZING! Born and raised here She knew it all; and shared her personal life with us. We learned of her heritage, traditions, way of real life here. Then the wildlife came! Rianna made sure we saw bears!!! Mama and her cubs, eating fresh caught fish! Eagles too! She made this entire trip so special 😊

This was one of the best...

Dea_T, Aug 2026
This was one of the best tours I've been on if you want to learn the history of the town you're in. Shane was awesome!

Rita

Rita_S, Aug 2026
couldn't understand our tour guide. it was a few stops for short periods of time. wasn't what l thought it would be, a little disappointed

All in one incredible tour

Gary_H, Aug 2026
Our tour guide Rihana was a born and raised local and super knowledgeable. We saw a whale and four bears on our tour. We were able to watch a mama bear and two cubs within about 50 yards for about 15 minutes or so playing and swimming. Water falls and salmon climbing as well. Totem poles and carving too. Best tour ever!

Good animal sightings

Len_G, Aug 2026
We missed going to the beach to see the Puffins and other animals. Also Riana our guide spent too much time talking about her children and not enough description of Ketchican. We enjoyed seeing the bears, and eagles.

Our driver seemed to know...

Shivani_M, Aug 2026
Our driver seemed to know a lot and have a lot of history but he was hard to understand - he spoke too fast. We didn't end up seeing any bears or seals, and I understand that it can't be planned. But it made the day kinda boring. If you only have a few hours at port (like us), I'd skip this and explore the town more.

Cool experience!

Patricia_Z, Aug 2026
Awesome sightings! Our tour guide was able to show us everything we wanted to see. The bears were the coolest part and seeing live starfish on the beach was exciting. Our guy was super cool and even offered to give us a ride back to the NCL port in order for us to have time to get souvenirs and get back to the boat with plenty of time. I planned this excursion at the last minute but definitely glad i did.

Not the best tour guide.

Brenda_R, Aug 2026
Wasn't the best tour guide. He was 80 years old, very direct, pushy at times, didn't stop at the beach and yelled at the other guide for stopping there. At Herring Cove we tried to look for bears but he parked in a very crowded street area. We had to stand under a tree where there were tons of birds that pooped on people. We stopped at an old boat dock and saw two eagles. Creek street we saw salmon running up the creek.

Black bear tour

Kathryn_R, Aug 2026
Nice small tour groups. Willing to adjust timing of things to cater to what we wanted to see most. Shane was an entertaining local guide who knew the bears behaviours and had great stories to tell. I would 1000% book with him again!

Local perspective.

Rachel_v, Aug 2026
Our tour guide Rhionna, was a local. She had the inside scoop, we felt like we were having a personalized adventure just for us. We saw a black bear, Eagles, the local beach as well as Rainbow Waterfall. As well as much more. It was a perfect day. Wish we could’ve stayed longer.

Enjoyed the tour! Very knowledgeable guide!

Tawni_B, Aug 2026
Rhianna (our guide) is a lifetime local who knows the places and things to see and do in Ketchikan. She brought us to multiple sites to enjoy: cool beach area, waterfall, salmon ladder, bear viewing, and totem poles. This tour is a van ride with multiple apx. 15 minute stops to get out and explore. Along the way, Rihanna shares interesting local knowledge and some indigenous tribal history. I highly recommend spending time beyond the touristy downtown area. This tour provides exposure to some of the natural beauty of the area, beyond walking distance from the ports.

Eagles, salmon and bears, oh my!

Beckie_H, Aug 2026
Loved meeting the very personalble Rhianna, who took us through town and led us to great spots to see amazing wildlife. She shared her interesting cultural background and experiences growing up in Ketchican. Adding some more historical details about the town would make this tour a must see!

Shane the owner was...

Candice_B, Aug 2026
Shane the owner was amazing he made our day so fun we saw everything we wanted to see and he was local and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour

Great local tour!

merrymom, Aug 2026
Super friendly, informative tour with local company that goes out of their way to try to make sure you learn about the local culture and see wildlife if possible. Rhiana was terrific and even doubled back so we could see bears. I love learning about local life through he. Highly recommend!

Experienced

Susan_B, Aug 2026
Norman was extremely knowledgeable in everything. He does speak low and fast which is a little problem.

the guide was really...

yarn4fun1, Aug 2026
the guide was really informative and nice. he took us to some cool places. I would recommend their service highly.

Short stops with several scenic views

Adriana_A, Aug 2026
The tour felt a bit rushed at times, as if we were running late on each stop. The views were nice though, our tour guide was on the lookout for wildlife during the entire tour.

Tour Guide

Rebecca_O, Aug 2026
The tour guide needs to either talk louder or get a microphone and speaker for the van. The people on the van past the first row could not hear him. He got defensive when I told him we could not hear him. We were supposed to see salmon spawning and did not see them.

Meh.

Cliff_S, Aug 2026
If all other excursions are sold out, you might want to consider this as a last resort only. Really anti-climatic and a bit expensive for what you get. The promo photo shows a bear with a salmon in its mouth, but you're highly unlikely to see a bear.

Tour was okay. Could not...

MissVJP, Aug 2026
Tour was okay. Could not hear or understand guide Shane while sitting in the back. He said he was yelling. When asked to speak up he got defensive and said he had asked others if they could hear okay. Of course being in the back, I never hear that conversation. I think he needs to rest his vocal cords. He is very knowledgeable.

We didn’t feel that it...

Ron_B, Aug 2026
We didn’t feel that it was quite as it was described to be. We had Norman for our driver and he was very difficult to understand. He spoke very fast. I know he was very knowledgeable, but did not do a very good job of getting information to us.
