What are people saying about Pompeii

Awesomeness beyond belief.
Excellent in every way. Very knowledgeable of all aspects of the trip. In Pompeii had inside information and awesome details. Had connections all along the way, to include a family operated restaurant with front seat views of Amalfi coast reservation for us. Encouraged customization of the stops or routes. Couldn’t have been any better. Would highly recommend.

Take the private tour. Daniela is the reason.
We had two hours in Pompeii and I've thought about them every day since. This was not a guide reciting dates to a crowd. It was a walking history class taught by someone with a real scholar's command of the material, delivered the way National Geographic delivers it, where you don't notice you're being taught because you're too busy leaning in.
Daniela reads Pompeii the way a great field naturalist reads a forest. Nothing is background. A rut in the stone, a doorway, a scorch line, and suddenly you're standing in someone's actual afternoon in the year 79. She knew which stones were worth stopping at and which questions were worth chasing, and she paced two hours so that we came away having seen a city rather than a checklist of ruins.
I'm forty years into a career where I have sat through more presentations than I can count. Very few people are genuinely excellent at their craft. Daniela is.
If you're weighing the group tour against the private one, stop weighing. Book her.

Pompeii Tour - Before and After
The highlight of the tour of Pompeii was the introduction to the many recently opened buildings and the rooms in them. I went many years ago with my partner and it was a much smaller area open for tourists to visit. So, having Tony as a guide was invaluable to help us from getting lost in all the new space, especially with a family in tow. He answered all our questions with patience and authority. An unexpected highlight was the visit to Herculaneum beforehand, which was interesting and proved a useful contrast to Pompeii, smaller and less diverse (mostly houses of rich people). It put Pompeii in perspective and fed the imagination about what it was like in those days. Very happy to finish with the walk in the national park area up to the volcano and be able to look inside it. Fantastic view from the top over Naples and the Bay. A great experience for all of us, and very informative. Thanks a lot to our guide, Antonino (Tony).

Great tour with Clelia
Great tour, perfect for families with kids. Our tour guide Clelia was amazing and she really brought the experience to life for our kids and group. The area is so large that having a tour guide really elevates the experience and helps you make the most of your time in Pompeii.

Through an expert’s eyes
We booked a private tour of Pompeii with Elizabeth, an archaeologist, and it completely changed our experience. Walking in on your own, you see ruins, but go in with someone who has spent their career in this material and the city comes to life.
What made it exceptional wasn’t the big-ticket stops. It was the ordinary things: the ruts worn into the stone for shop doors, how the bakeries and street-food counters worked, where the water went. Elizabeth read all of it as evidence of how people actually lived. Details we’d have walked straight past turned into the most memorable part of the day.
The private format mattered too. We could stop where we were curious, ask follow-up questions, and skip what didn’t hold us. No headsets, no crowd of forty. It felt like a conversation rather than a script.
If you’re deciding between a group tour and this, book the archaeologist.

Raffeale was an excellent...
Raffeale was an excellent tour guide, really enjoyed our trip as a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children). Would highly recommend. The tour gave us the location and instructions before it started which were accurate, we had a really good time listening to the history of Pompaii, our tour guide was able and encouraged questions which we found really positive. Couldn't have asked for a better tour guide and so glad we booked it.

We would recommend...
We would recommend booking the experience with the archeologist. Alfredo was very in depth and made Pompeii a memorable experience we will remember for a lifetime. Vesuvius was also a great time. Although the climb was tough, it was worth the views at the top. Mario was a top notch hiking guide.

Italo made our Pompeii tour amazing! 🔥
If you're touring Pompeii, ask for Italo. His passion for the place was obvious from the start, and it made the whole tour so much fun. By the end, we could actually identify the different types of buildings ourselves, which felt awesome.
We never once felt rushed. It honestly felt like a good friend was showing us around, not just a guide reciting facts. Can't recommend Italo enough!

Awesome Tour with Amedeo!!!
This was an amazing tour with Eliana Sandretti tours! Amedeo was so informative about the city, culture and history. There is no other way to see Pompeii without a private tour and especially with the expertise of an archaeological! Amedeo was accommodating and answered all our questions. You can feel his passion for the city through his explanations and detail. Amazing and unforgettable experience!

Great Tour!
Wonderful your with an expert guide. I didn’t love the type of audio earpieces they used compared to other excursions I’ve been on but that’s just a minor issue. I would recommended that they move to the more traditional headphone connection in the future.

Take this tour of Pompeii…you will not regret it!
Francesca, our tour guide was so great and engaging. I loved that she talked as we walked so there was not a lot of standing around still in the heat. My 17 year old said this was the best tour we took in Italy (and we took a lot). My only 2 complaints were that I do not care for the radio earpieces because they are very glitchy and as someone with hearing loss they aren’t always clear and when we arrived the Walks of Italy sign was not visible and we had a hard time finding the group.

Great 2hr tour of Pompei ruins!
My husband and I had a wonderful time learning some history, science, and archeology from our tour guide. He was very open to and knowledgeable about the questions we had. We would have loved to explore the whole space with our guide but when our tour was finished, he helped send us in the direction we were interested in continuing to explore. I would highly recommend!
