What are people saying about Pompeii

Just the right way to see Pompei
Livio was a lovely guide. Funny and interesting and the pace was great. Pompei is superb and so huge that a guide is really sensible. I often hate being trailed around and kept from exploring at my own pace, but this worked well thst you got an expert overview and then released to explore on your own terms afterwards.

Exceptional experience for our family
Our tour guide Lello was exceptional. He brought Pompei to life for my 8 and 10 year old children and my husband and I leant so much to. I cannot recommend this tour enough.
My son finds it hard to focus for long periods of time - Lello understood this without us telling him and delivered the tour in a way which engaged him.

Perfection!
Romolo was great! Hands down probably the best tour we’ve had. Private tours is the only way to go. Pompeii is enormous, so it was nice to have a local point out the most interesting portions. It saved us wandering around looking at the same stuff or getting lost in the labyrinth of houses. Perfect for the amount of time we had.

Excellent 2 hour tour, adults and kids loved it
We had a wonderful time. Marina was so engaging and was able to answer ALL of our questions with humor and great storytelling. We booked a 2 hour tour because we knew our two young kids (9, 11) didn't have the stamina to wander around. Our kids loved it and my wife and I were so happy to have a guide to explain everything to us. In my opinion this is a MUST to have a guide. And hopefully you get Marina!

Exceptional Tour Guide
I cannot recommend Daniele enough. Our family was visiting Pompeii for the first time and this specific location has been a lifetime bucket list item for a few of us. We loved how she asked each member of our group what we were excited to see and made a point to include tour stops that showcased our interests. Above all, her love for the city of pompeii was palpable. She was warm, friendly, and thrilled to answer our MANY questions. We are so glad we opted to book a tour guide as there are so many details about the city we would have overlooked otherwise. Highly recommend!

This is a must do!!
This is a must do for a trip to Pompeii. They take all the stress out of traveling to Pompeii from Rome. As a matter of fact, the day of my trip, the local train from Naples to Pompeii was on strike. If I didn’t pick this service, then I may never have been able to get to Pompeii.

Fantastic tour of some amazing ruins
This private tour with Antonio was a fantastic way to learn some amazing history about Napoli. He was so knowledgeable, friendly and engaging. Even had my daughter's engaged the whole day.
Sadly it was cloudy by the time we got to Mt Vesuvius, so we couldn't see inside the crater, but nevertheless, it was still an amazing experience. I'd suggest doing Vesuvius in the morning when clouds are clear.
Highly recommend this tour !

We had the chance to...
We had the chance to visit Pompeii with Anna Sorrento, an archeologist actively working at uncovering the wonders of Pompeii. We could see she was full of passion of this wonderful site and that our short time together wasn’t enough to show us all the secrets she had to share. We had to cut the visit short to take the bus to Vesuvius but we would have gladly spent the whole day with her! Grazie Anna!
After that, we had about 10-15 min to buy a sandwich and hop on the bus for the next part, the visit of mount Vesuvius with Mario. Mario was fantastic, explaining things along the way and guiding us through the (challenging for some) hike up the summit of the Vesuvius. The summit was clouded so we couldn’t see the view of Naples, but Mario still explained what we should see and what the other peak that we saw poking through the clouds was. A special thank you to the bus driver too, for taking us through the winding roads leading up to the summit! Even though we started the tour at Pompeii, the tour bus brought us back to Naples, which save us a trip on the Circumvesuviana. We did not know that was an option and were pleasantly surprised by it.
Overall, a wonderful day spent with amazing people!

Lello was the best guide!
The tour was amazing. Lello as a guide was perfect. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and interesting. He was like the mayor of Pompeii. Having the perspective from an archeologist made the people of Pompeii come to life. If you can ask for him, do it!

Fantastic!
Initially we had confusion over where we were to meet the tour guide as the directions on the paperwork take you up to a building next to the train station, but we finally figured out we needed to be right outside the entrance further down.
Once that was sorted and we went in, our tour guide was absolutely fantastic and very informative.
I would highly recommend using a tour guide for your first trip.
Any return trips you can easily find your own way around

Pompeii tour as a family.
It was amazing and very informative. Communication between our guide was clear and precise before (with meeting location and what to bring), and during our time with Eliana. What a wonderful time we had on our private tour. Highly recommend the private tour - before we knew it our time was up.

Me and my friends have...
Me and my friends have nothing but great things to say about our tour.
We were running a bit late, but the agency, the staff and the guides were so helpful in accomodating us.
Don't be running late like us otherwise you might miss out on a great experience.
The tour itself was incredible and skip the line option made it so much better.
Our guide (Alessio I think) was very knowledgeable about the history, the architecture and everyday life of ancient Pompeii.
2:30 hours passed in a blink of an eye.
I really can't recomend this tour enough

Not seeing something you are looking for?
The enormous expanse of Pompeii is hard to grasp until you see it firsthand, so it can be overwhelming to visit without a good guide. Pompeii private sightseeing tours can be tailored to your specific interests, and they typically come with skip-the-line access to avoid long wait times at the entrance. You can even book a private tour with an archaeologist as your guide to get a unique understanding of the historical significance of the discoveries, as well as the ongoing excavation work. Choose a private sightseeing tour of Pompeii to make the most out of your visit.
