Pompeii is so expansive so this tour was a great way to see a good portion of the site with highlights. Our tour guide was well versed on Pompeii knowledge and was able to provide excellent history and stories in an engaging way. We spent a couple hours after the tour continuing to explore the site. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to understand more about Pompeii!

I had difficulty listening through the Audio device. It was poor quality and it echoed. Although the tour guide seems to be knowledgeable enough (didn’t get the impression she was an archeologist), her thick accent with echoing device was not ideal.

Very knowledgeable and patient guide, I enjoyed the pace we took through Pompeii as it was a busy day, but we definitely got a chance to see a great deal and had time to take photos many times as well. Would highly recommend.

Brilliant tour! It would honestly be pointless visiting without a guide. You get so much out of it, so much information, head to the right areas etc.

CROOKS - DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR
We cannot recommend this tour. The info on how to find the meeting point is not informative enough. And when we well in advance of the start of the tour wrote to the guide on WhatsApp, the guide did not respond. We then called Viator's customer service for help, but they were not able to help us.
The worst part is that the guide later said we were "no shows", which we were not. We were at the site 30 min. prior to the tour, but we were not able to find the exact meeting point.
When we asked for a refund, the guide refused. So we paid for a service, we did not receive.
We called Viator's customer service regarding the refund case, but they seem to side with the guide even though we showed them screenshots of the message on What'sApp and the call to customer services where you can see we were on time and tried everything we could to find the meeting point.
We feel robbed of our money. Do not book this tour. They cannot be trusted.

we are really sorry to read this, also because this is not completely true!
We tried to call you twice, and you never picked up the phone. Since you booked a group tour (there were other people waiting for the departure) we had to leave.
All the indication on the website and on the voucher provided through Viator are really clear, infact we have a lot of reservation every day, and everybody easily found us.
According to the policy, that you should have read before buying a service, a NO SHOW booking is not refundable.

We did the 2 hour guided tour and got to see the high points of Pompeii. The tour guide was informative, had a great sense of humor and open to questions. We were fortunate to have a sunny day, temperature 68*F. This checked off one of the things on my bucket list, even though we lived in Italy for 2 years but never made it this far south.

it's the first time that clients have problem with Google maps.
Then, if a client don't show up, and we already booked everything, it's obvious that tour is not refundable.
Last but not least: Pompeii is really huge, for sure you cannot visit everything in 2 hours

Overall the tour was good. Our guide was informative and told us many interesting facts, but I don’t think the tour was worth the high price. Considering other tours were offered for less, I don’t think this one gives more value than the less expensive tours.

The guide was good but the description of the tour is deceptive The guide promised was an archeologist but instead was a tour guide This was disappointing I wanted an expert instead got someone who memorized a script

Best to Google Pompeii and learn about the history before starting your tour. Our guide was Laura and she did an excellent job explaining everything during our tour. She spoke fluent English, was knowledgeable and most importantly, she was patient. After her tour you can wander the archeological site to get a greater experience if you wish.

Our guide Alessandra was very knowledgeable and patient with our group of twenty. We were given headsets to hear her throughout the tour. The pace was good for a varied group of young and old. Amazing experience and crucial to experience it with a professional guide to maximize your visit…this site is enormous! Make sure to wear sturdy shoes.

Your guide was very informative about the science, culture and archeological aspects that impacted Pompeii. The preservation was spectacular. We loved the tour itself!
The only negative was that we almost missed the tour, even though we were an hour early, because the ticket said “Viator” and only referenced the tour company in small letters. The directions were to the main gate and said nothing about going to the second floor of the train station. Another tour company knew the problem and directed us. It’s happened before!
