Really well done tour, our guide was Iain and he did a great job of going through the broader historical context that lead to Nazi Germany and the holocaust. The site itself is well preserved and informative. It’s an intense emptional experience, standing on the same grounds where so many evil things took place. But it’s an important thing to see, lest we forget.

Such a fun day!

This tour is awesome! We had such a great day on the alpine coaster, eating a delicious lunch and touring the castle! Each stop was well-timed and our tour guide, Tyler, kept things historical and interesting. Eva was a great driver, too. I would definitely recommend this tour!

It really is a luxury tour - first all, the coach is posh - three spacious seats each row (2 + 1) layout), with a coffee/bar station in the middle and a lounge area in the rear! Because each group is relatively small, our guide (Elof - THE BEST) got to chat with each group/individual and ensure each’s preferences/priorities are accommodated. Elof is warm, funny, knowledgeable and gave us many useful tips. Highly recommended!!!

Bucket-list day with zero stress

We loved the fact that they took care of everything! We didn’t have to find tickets, figure out where to go or how to get there. Just meet the bus and enjoy the day! Our guide, Marleena, was knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The bus was nice and even had a bathroom. And the castles are breathtaking! It was a bucket-list day, and they handled all the details for us. It poured rain on us, but other than that the day was perfect.

Amazing Stress-Free Castle Tour with an Exceptional Guide

This was an amazing tour from start to finish. Although this tour was a bit pricey, we booked it to simplify the logistics of scheduling, navigating public transportation, etc. This was especially important since we were traveling with a small group that included two 80-year-olds. We were picked up right outside our hotel, and the only thing we had to worry about all day was being ready for our pickup. Once we stepped into the comfortable, clean, and well-air-conditioned van, everything else was taken care of. What made this tour even better was our guide, Mattis. Not only did he give us fascinating information about the history of the castles we visited, but he also chatted with us about German culture, regulations, and what it was like to grow up and go to school right near the famous Neuschwanstein Castle. He was kind, helpful, and incredibly attentive to the needs and abilities of everyone in our group. In addition, he was an excellent driver, providing us with a smooth and comfortable ride while demonstrating courtesy to other pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists along the way. I have booked a lot of tours and experiences through Viator, and this was by far the best! The convenience, personalized service, and attention to detail definitely made up for the expense. Very informative!

Sarah was amazing ! The level of knowledge she had on the tour was incredible and astounding! We learnt a lot and inspired us to learn more ! This is the best tour you will find to these locations

The VIP tour was worth every penny. Courtney was interesting and full of helpful hints. The snacks and free beer at the end were most welcome. Take her advice and take the bus to Mary’s Bridge then walk downhill to the castle. Walk all the way back to the village after the tour. It’s a brutal uphill walk to get back to the bus for a return trip. We loved this excursion- every stop was well planned out and perfectly executed.

Lucia is an exceptional guide!

Fabulous tour & great value! Please know there is travel via pubic transit…both city bus & train. The train does make a number of stops along the route. Our guide made it a smooth travel experience both there & back. Our guide was Lucia & she was delightful! She shared history and architectural details and offered excellent budget sensible ideas of places to eat & what to do and what to skip. She spoke clearly and loud enough and was so friendly & personable. She was easy to follow through the busy areas and ensured we felt guided but could still make the trip our own. It was a great day in Salzburg!

It is worth upgrading to the premium experience as there is a smaller group and snacks and drinks available throughout the day. Faizen was a wonderful guide - he knew the timing of when to get to the Marienbrucke to take photos of the castle to ensure we could make our castle tour in time.
