What a full day adventure, we had so much fun. Tyler, our tour guide, was great. Funny guy, very good person and passed on good information. The itinerary was excellent. The bikes were good. The ride was easy, but amazingly beautiful.
This is a great deal in my opinion. Nice bus, they offered drinks for cheap. Bathroom on bus. You buy the tickets to the castle by cash on the bus, so know that’s an extra cost… but this is still a good deal for 11 hours.
The bike ride around the lake was flat and easy. We had a pretty big group (40-ish) with different skill levels, so nothing will be very advanced, but still very nice to be out and moving.
The food at the brewery was good, and the beer was good. The ice cream at the little shop by the brewery was great too. Those are all not covered in the cost of the tour, which I wouldn’t have expected for the price.
The hike up the hill is steep, but we enjoyed that too. We had time on the bridge to take photos. The Neuschwanstein tour was relatively fast, but that is what the castle offers. Actually, I was just happy to get the tour for how late we planned on going to Neuschwanstein.
It was a great day and would recommend to almost anyone. Last, make sure you tip your guide.

We had a very enjoyable day. We liked the option to choose between the alpine coaster and Oberammergau village. Lunch was very good. Both of these activities just added to the castle experience. Our guide Tyler was amazing - knowledgeable, friendly and well organized!! Definitely recommend.

Excellent experience - Tyler the tour guide was amazing and full of knowledge - definitely go inside the castle - if you are a fan of architecture you will love what King Ludwig II did.

This tour was our favorite from our trip to Munich. Tyler was a great guide who was full of knowledge about the history of the castle, King Ludwig II and the whole family, and his enthusiasm throughout the day was contagious! The alpine coaster was a highlight and a great add on to our day. We learned so much, got a great amount of walking in and had time to walk around the castle before and after the tour. The views are incredible from Queen Mary's Bridge as well.

Bus was new and clean. Well planed, got to do many things in one day which would normally not be possible if planned otherwise. Tyler is a great guide, very attentive, in a good mood and gave us useful Munich tips. The restaurant we stopped at had good quality food. Our group split into the alpine coaster and Oberammergau, both were nice additions to the castle day. Would certainly book another tour with Tyler, we had a great day (:

The perfect experience for a change of pace from Oktoberfest and my favourite part of the entire Munich trip!! All the views were absolutely beautfiul, our guides were fun and super informative, and the food included was actually quite good. Despite a group of us getting lost for a portion of our bike trip (not from guide error), we did not lose any time for the rest of the tour which was a relief. Neuschwanstein was a beautiful sight and the Alps are truly breathtaking. I honestly believe this tour is essential for anyone staying in Munich who wants to see a bit more of the German countryside.

James and John were fantastic for the whole 11 hour tour. Bus ride was comfortable and clean, bike ride was easy for novices and enjoyable, and the organized lunch was great. Tour of the castle was unbelievable. Would recommend to anyone wanting a tour of Bavarian alps and Neuschwanstein.

James was an incredibly informative and friendly tour guide. We wanted to tour Hohenschwangau instead of riding the bikes around the lake, and James was very accommodating and worked with us to plan our morning separately. When we met back up for the Neuschwanstein tour him and his fellow guide John did a great job of directing us around Marienbrücke and the castle complex, and were patient when we ran a little late getting out of the castle. The day was great, and on the ride home James continued to offer info about the Bavarian kings and their castles, plus advice on spots to get dinner or sights to see

This tour was soo much fun! The castle is absolutely gorgeous but I believe the bike tour portion was even better! Tyler, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable! He knew all the tips and tricks around the castle. I would definitely recommend this tour. If I had more time in the city, I would of definitely looked into an other trour with Mikes Bike Tour.

Amazing tour with Tyler and Shawn, it was a very informative, friendly and fun group. We learnt a lot of Munich history, about Ludwig the second and the Neuchwanstein Castle. Tyler and Shawn were great story tellers and communicated super clearly over our itinerary and expectations for what is manageable and where we should take detours. My wife and I had a absolutely great time on this eventful excursion. Tyler was knowledgeable, humorous, kind, and an overall fantastic guide. Biking through the countryside to the lake for a quick swim followed by a traditional Bavarian lunch with an incredibly scenic view was spectacular. Our view of the castle from the bridge and then the actual trip to and through the castle was one we will always remember. Thank you to Tyler and the bus driver for this wonderful trip!

Well organised. There was a good schedule that allowed usbith guided time and free time. The bus ride went by fast with our guide giving us the background on the castle history and the family who built it.

Tyler was awesome! Gives lots of history and personable. He also made sure everyone was accounted for.
We got lucky and booked this last minute- it ended up being the best decision of our trip to Munich. The bus is nice that they transport in (bring a phone cord they have charging ports at each seat).
There are 3 options if youre not one to want to ride a bike: bike tour and lunch (highly recommend easy ride and great scenery), another castle/village, or waiting at the restaurant center and joining for lunch once bike riders get back. Lunch was delicious at a neat brewery.
Afterwards you go tour the Neuschwanstein Castle (quick tour but overall a great experience)
The hike to the castle is STEEP however worth it, shuttle is available too if you prefer to skip.
Bring cash for shops although they give a chance at the atm prior to leaving.

This was such a fun day! The tour guides - Tyler and Shawn, were fantastic! They were a wealth of knowledge and herded our group of cats like pros. Very clear on where we needed to be and when. The bike part of this tour is flat and mild, no problem! The hike, however, is quite the uphill hike, just be aware. You can totally opt to take the little shuttle up to the castle instead!

The Neuschwanstein Castle bus & bike tour was a fantastic experience, exactly as advertised. Everything was well organized and ran smoothly. The castle itself is breathtaking, and the option to explore nearby by bike made fun. The guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and added a lot of value. We had an overall great time…with a few exceptions. We got called within 10 min of pick up time asking if we were arriving - we were, we just weren’t early due to new city
Bike ride was 10/10, lunch was amazing, castle was really great!
Our only complaint is the hike to the castle - it was undersold how difficult it was (and we go to the gym 3x week at home). We were miserable and sweating. Hard to enjoy the rest of the day. The people in the tour that couldn’t bike flat - then fell down the castle and were bleeding. The main tour guide Tyler should have read the room better.
Sean was Great - listen to him! Other tour guide sold The hike in a way that seemed good but it wasn’t fun. The hike was draining and awful. Eveyone was exhausted.

Thank you for your review. We understand that the 20/25 MINUTE hike up the gravel path to the castle can be more challenging for some guests, and we regret if the walk was more difficult than you anticipated.
The timing was unfortunately adjusted on that one specific day to avoid the annual Oktoberfest Procession, which completely shuts down all major roads in the city which would have delayed the tour quite a bit leading to a very rushed tour.
Regarding the bike ride through the alpine region, we do our best to ensure that everyone is prepared for the physical demands. While it is impossible for us to assess a guest's fitness level or riding ability before the tour begins, our guides are always available to help and ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time on the flat terrain.

This experience was a relaxing way to see the castle with a variety of options. The bike ride was the most enjoyable part for me. (I probably would have even liked a longer ride). The efficiency re: ordering lunch was well done along with the castle tickets. The hike to the castle was strenuous but that was conveyed prior. Tyler did a great job with the commentary (not too much but just enough). The group was not too big although the coach could take more but that might be too many. I did not go inside the castle as our main view was to be in the countryside outside Munich. Several of the group had a swim in the lake. I should have been prepared for a swim but wasn't expecting a warm day. Others enjoyed the castle experience.

This is a full day with a bus ride through the beautiful countryside to Swangau. Tyler, the guide is excellent. Bike ride was flat and easy but I would definitely suggest wearing very good tennis shoes for the walk “hike” up to the castle. We are in great shape and it was tough for us. There is a bus to take you to the top if you prefer. I would Absolutely recommend this tour.
