What are people saying about Munich

Great tour!
Great day tour! We had plenty of time at Linderhof Castle and Neuschwanstein Castle. We also had a stop in between those two castles at a little cute town called Oberammergau. Our guide Markus was great, during the bus ride there, he told us historical facts about Munich, interesting facts about castles, the town, King Ludvig, and he provided great instructions on how tours of both castles work. So now, one by one. First stop, Linderhof. You must take a tour of castle's inside. The interiors are absolutely amazing and unique! Must see! The tour of interiors is about 25 minutes long, by a live guide (who works there). No photos allowed inside (we actually liked that part - u truly focus on looking and listening). After the tour u can walk around the gardens. Second stop, the village. Very unique, cute houses with lots of beautiful frescos. Looks stunning on a sunny day! Walk around, have coffee or ice cream (my advise - stay away from beer, u'll be doing a lot of walking up hill later). Third stop, the main even, the Neuschweinstein Castle. Weather was great, sunny, 68F. We had roughly 3.5-4.0 hours at that stop. You can take a shuttle bus up, or a hourse carriage, or walk up. If you walk up, there are two path in the first half of the distance up that eventually merge. We took a shorter path, but, it was a pretty steep incline. Paved road through the woods, very nice, but long and with pretty good incline. We made it! But, if you have cardio or legs/knees issues, don't take this shortcut. Anyways, once at the Castle, we made some photos around - gorgeous scenery! Then wrnt around castle to the Mary's bridge - amazing views of the valley and lakes on a way! And then u get onto a bridge and it is a breathtaking view of the castle! And waterfall! The walk from castle to bridge is about 15 minutes, but if u stop for photos on a way and then on the bridge, and walk back - u need 45 minutes to fully enjoy it. The way tour is built, yoour tour guide gives u tickets for entry (and tour) of the castle for the time slot at the end. Our time slot was 16:15. We got to entrance at 16:00. By that time we were there for about 2.5 hours, at least two. The idea is u do all the walking around and photos before your Inside the Castle entry time. The tour of castle is done using an audio guide (multiple languages available), the group is chaperoned by the official employee who is there to answer questions. After the tour, walk down to bus. Now, as wtitten in tour description, u need to pay entry fees for going inside both castles, $13 for Linderhof, and $24 for the big one. $37 total per person. This is in Euro. U pay via credit card on the bus, to your tour guide. Totally worth the money! I highly recommend this tour.

We had a most...
We had a most knowledgeable and wonderful guide through Dachau Concentration Camp. The guide was great at giving lots of historical influence, but also shared personally how his family was directly involved in the camp as prisoners. It was truly wonderful to hear his perspective. I believe this is a place everyone should visit. It is a humbling experience. But worth the time.

This was a very...
This was a very informative and complete explanation of how Hitler and the Third Reich came to power, going as far back as the late 29th century. In doing so we saw much of Munich and its beautiful buildings and spaces. Sam, our guide was very articulate and knowledgeable. He put together a very complete account for us. The walking portion was excellent and not too long or far for my group (all in their late 60’s). Well worth the time and money.

Munich is an ideal starting point for discovering historical landmarks, natural wonders, charming Bavarian towns, and opulent castles. Munich day trips let you maximize your time in Germany without having to organize a rental car. Immerse yourself in World War II history on tours of a concentration camp memorial site in Dachau or Hitler’s former mountaintop retreat in the Bavarian Alps. Alternatively, you can treat yourself to some retail therapy at bustling outlet malls or marvel at the architectural masterpieces of castles commissioned by King Ludwig II.
