Your day trip to Neuschwanstein Castle starts with the train or bus journey from Munich through the German countryside. The entrance fee to the castle is not included (you can pay on the day), but by booking this tour in advance, you receive skip-the-line access to Neuschwanstein so you won’t waste time standing in the ticket queue.
Once inside the enchanting structure, take a tour with a guide, who shares fascinating stories about the reclusive Bavarian king who commissioned a new residence in the 19th century. Thought to be mad, King Ludwig II desired a fantasy castle built in the mountains, an obsessive feat that was still incomplete when he died. Visit the best vantage points for views and photo ops of the castle’s towers, interiors and surrounding scenery such as the lake, gorge and equally beautiful Hohenschwangau Castle.

This was an amazing day. What beautiful country side to see as you ride to the castle. The castle was beautiful and very elaborate. Definitely worth the trip. Connie our tour guide was amazing. She was very knowledgeable and funny. Would definitely recommend her as your tour guide!

It would be a great experience if you’ve never seen the castle before. If you have, not sure it’s worth the long ride. Disappointing that there were no bathrooms on the bus for such a long ride.

Leon was an excellent guide. Very entertaining and helpful. Lots of steps and walking, but it was worth it to see the inside of the castle. The only thing I wish I had done differently would have been to bring a picnic to eat next to the lake, the food options in town were limited.

I had a great time on this tour. Our tour guide Lana was amazing. She knew a lot about the areas we were traveling through as well as informing us about King Ludwig II. I would recommend this tour to everyone and hope they get Lana as a tour guide.

Excellent day trip to Neuschwanstein Castle! The castle was spectacular, and the scenery was beautiful. The free time was perfect for exploring, browsing the local shops, and taking in the atmosphere at our own pace. Leon was a fabulous guide, friendly, knowledgeable, and well organised. He made the day enjoyable from start to finish. Highly recommended!

Stephanie was very informative but lacked the patience for her group of 40. We were split up on the actual tour into the castle and felt rushed with certain parts of the tour.
She wasn’t projecting her voice for all to hear many were confused with meeting spots
We felt that we were charged for every little thing. Bathrooms, bus ride up to castle and entry. We paid 90.00 for a bus ride.

Wonderful day with Leon as our guide! It was easy to find the office to meet in the morning, and we had a seamless and informative bus ride to and from the castle. Leon even gave us tips for dinner after the tour- which we took- and had a wonderful night in Munich. So glad we booked this tour.

A brilliant tour with our tour guide Lucia. Very much recommend her. A wonderful tour of the castle. Quite a demanding trip with quite a lot of walking and stairs. Well worth it though. Love the drive to the castle. Lots to see. Definitely recommend.

Anna was the BEST tour guide! from the moment she introduced herself until the time the bus pulled back in 9 hours later she was enthusiastic, eager, funny, helpful, informative, and wanted us to have the best experience possible. She took us to all the great picture taking spots and made sure we got inside for the castle tour without issue. She recommended the best gift shops to go to and places to eat. I have taken numerous tours through Viator in several countries and Anna was the best guide I've ever had.

What an amazing experience to have spent the day traveling back in time to Neuschwanstein Castle and the city that surrounds it. It was incredible to see and even better with Team Leon! He made sure we saw everything, showed us where to go and times to get there to maximize our day and took care of everyone on the bus the entire day. He was a wealth of history and great energy and fun to be around. This one can’t be missed if you’re in Munich and doing it on Team Leon makes it even better!

Dan was good, his history was a bit all over the place, but you got the gist. We did not know that there was a whole little village of shops and restaurants at the bottom of the mountain. We also did not know where to go once we got off the bus at the top. Prior knowledge to that would have been nice. We did figure it out on our own. The wait for the bus was ridiculous, and I thought we paid for front of the line tour. However, the castle is breathtaking and I highly recommend spending the money to go inside. We went to The Residence in Munich the day before and the Neuschwanstein castle tour guide was 100% better. I recommend visiting the castle period, whichever tour company you prefer.

Wow, what an experience. The castle and the views were magnificent.
The only downside is the crowds, during peak time it does get very busy. Especially Mary's Bridge, it can take up to 50 minutes to get to it.

Reserving a spot was easy. Staff was terrific, start to finish. Thomas did a wonderful job of keeping everyone engaged as well as in time. Be prepared to walk. It is a steep climb to the castle and lots of stairs inside. Overall, a great day trip.

We actually missed the tour. They changed the time in us from 7:15am to 9:00am
We never got new documents and the link that was sent out did not work to find out where to meet

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback Debbie. Your tour was always booked for the 9.15 AM deparutre, there is no departure with any company in Munich that would be starting this tour at 7 AM. We had waited here at our departure point for you, but unfortunately we do have to leave on time to value our other guests time on the tour.

Excellent tour. The bus ride is a little long but Jake made it very informative and entertaining. The castle and surrounding area is a beautiful. I did not read thoroughly and you do have to pay additionally to get in the castle. Also if you try the walk, its more strenuous than you'd think haha.
