Bad Weather, but Great Tour
Our guide Joana was terrific, and an amazing driver. We had a combination of English and Spanish speaking passengers, and Joana did a great job communicating with everyone. Make sure to pack /wear layers (we've went in late April, but everyone told us you can experience the same weather in August). As you head up the mountain the weather can change dramatically...it was 75F/22C and sunny in Funchal, but only 45F/7C with rain and fog by the time we started the Lavada walk). The Lavada walk was pretty but rainy, foggy and cold. The lunch place Joana stopped at was great (food and service were very good, we would recommend the beef skewers). Unfortunately, the fog was so bad we couldn't see Pico Do Aeerio (we stopped, but literally couldn't see the mountain) I would definitely recommend this tour, and our guide Joana.

Great way to see highlights of Madeira's Southwest and North Coast
A great way to see and experience the highlights of Madeira's Southwest and North coasts. Multiple stops at incredible vistas, a traditional market, the Fanal Forest, a north shore seaside town for lunch and an optional swim before two stops to view the North Shores highlights (rock formations and waterfalls) along with the famous black sand beach before heading back to Funchal.
And our driver Dinarte filled the windshield time with many interesting facts about Madeira's people, the food, agriculture and small interesting facts.
Gus small can is extremely comfortable for 8 guests - and very comfortable for the drive back to Funchal at the end of the day.
We really enjoyed this tour and highly recommend it!

Wow factor with careful kind driver
Prompt pick up and safe careful driver to the summit. Josef was kind and careful with our 4 year old, offering her extra blankets in addition to the ones we brought and allowing us time to put in our car seat. He also provided her with some chocolate wafers which she devoured while waiting for the sunrise and a spare torch: so kind and patient.
We loved the sunrise but it’s cold so take hat coat and scarf and blankets if you have
We had a flask of coffee/tea to sip while you wait for the sun to come up. This is in January may not be needed in the summer.
We had a wonderful time thanks again

Beautiful hike through nature
This December my wife and I traveled to Madeira for our honeymoon. We knew that we wanted to get out in nature, but weren’t sure what hike to start with. We had a pretty basic checklist. It had to include waterfalls, beautiful views, and be a distance that wouldn’t leave us sore for the rest of our trip. This hike checked all of those boxes and more. Our guide was knowledgeable and shared interesting history about the levadas throughout the hike. It was immediately obvious how much he cared about land and wildlife conservation. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the hike to anyone who asks.

Good guide and nice tour of the old city.
Good experience with a very knowledgeable guide. However the point of meeting although known locally as the Jesuits College, is actually the University of the Jesuits on the side entrance and this should be made clear on the instructions of where to meet.

Many woohoo! Moments
My husband and I had a great time with Daniella. She created a fun, quirky environment. The many “woohoo!” Moments going down the streets in the tukxi and the many stops were beautiful to take in. We loved that she asked so many questions as she explained the history, it felt like a game or a fun quiz and it made the information last. Thank you Daniella! We loved it!

Half day Jeep safari
Miguel our guide was friendly and charming with a good sence of humour which made the experience much more fun.. we went off road and had an amazing time with lots of laughter .stopped at a bar for poncho and watched the local lady make it for us. Saw some small villages and amazing view points.Would definitely recommend this trip

Challenging but amazing
Professional service from pick up to drop off. Our guide was excellent. The route was challenging, but we had plenty of stops to rest and refuel. The final stairway to heaven was amazing and our guide helped to make sure everyone made it safely out to the view points and back again. Brilliant day out.

Madeira West - A Different World
We stayed in the old part of town where vehicles are not allowed, but the company did a great job of managing the issue and arranging a convenient pick-up. The guide, Dino, was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. His philosophy was that he wanted to do what ever was possible to address our needs and questions and to make sure that our enjoyment was his top priority.
We had already been on a tour of the Western side of the island and we assumed that the tours would be fairly redundant. We were wrong. The two sides of the islands might as well be from different planets. Both were rugged, but very distinctive. It was a very enjoyable and informative day which we enjoyed very much.

Fantastic trip. Would recommend to a friend!
It was great. We didn’t see any dolphins/whales though, but honestly it didn’t matter. The crew were both lovely, attentive etc, and was very comfortable. Very relaxing too, drove around for 2.5 hours, had a couple of drinks, saw Madeira from a different perspective and got to swim —Surprisingly warm!! Would definitely book again, thank you so much!!

We had good weather on...
We had good weather on our trip which made a huge difference. We saw a shark, bottlenose dolphins, pilot whales, and risso’s dolphins. The guide was knowledgeable and the driver was great. I especially liked how the guides respected the dolphins and didn’t spend too long with a pod. I also appreciated that they collected random plastic when it came up in the ocean on our trip.

Great afternoon out
Susannah picked us up at our hotel on time and we drove straight out to the winery. The route was a little windy and the last bit was very bumpy but Susannah coped with all the conditions very well. She was very informative and we learned a lot about the island as she drove. The winery itself was in beautiful countryside. The tour was very well organised. We tried six wines (very little food provided with which to try it and the actual tasting was a little rushed as there was a big party coming in after us). We we’re offered another full glass of any of the 6 wines after, too. After this we went onto the glass bridge and then onto a little fishing village where Churchill apparently painted. The stops here were very brief which suited us. We were home by 6:20 pm after starting out at 2.pm. Good value, interesting tour.
