Pickup is included for guests staying at the designated hotels. We advise you to be ready and waiting in the hotel reception area 10 minutes before your scheduled pickup time. Our guides will wait approximately 5 minutes for each guest. Look out for our vans, which can be either white (smaller) or grey (larger). We strive to ensure a smooth and timely start to your adventure, though external delays can occur. If that happens, you will be updated on the day. One day before the activity, we may adjust the pickup time for your convenience.

This was a fantastic trip which I'd highly recommend. The organisation of the trip was excellent and our guide and driver were very friendly and knowledgeable. We were collected spot on time from our hotel and the drive up to the walk was very scenic. The toilet and coffee break just before we started the walk was a good opportunity to top up on water! The walk itself is absolutely stunning - breathtaking. Our guide made sure that we took the walk at a good pace - not too fast, so that we could all take in the scenery and enjoy. She also shared interesting information about the flora and fauna seen along the walk. Once we finished the walk we stopped off for coffee at a lovely cafe. A brilliant day out! (Do remember to pack some snacks for a quick lunch eaten in the MOST beautiful place). A must do if you want to experience the spectacular scenery of Maderia. Thanks so much to our guide and driver!!

A lovely hike with many steps -mainly down, but a few up. Daria was clear with instructions and navigated us well and provided great instruction for what would be ahead. Well organised! The bus driver, Carlos, was pleasant and efficient!

Great hike!!!! Few uphills and downhills but moderate . Love love the hike!!!!! Mostly trails are covered with trees . Our guide and driver are amazing!! Friendly and pleasant !

The hike is along a very crowded route but the nature is absolutely stunning and the guide made the most of it by telling us about the local trees and plants, fantastic!

We were very fortunate to get great weather for our hike which made such a difference. Expected the walk to be more open rather than through the trees but still a great day out. Took us under 3 1/2 hours including lunch break.

The actual walking trip took about 4 hours although the coach journey each way took about one and a half hours due to picking up people at various locations. The route once we got on to the Levadas was very busy as was the area around the 25 fountains waterfall. It should be noted that the walk includes lots of downwards steps which were both uneven and slippery. I think the description of the tour should make this clearer. The guide was very informative and did his best to keep the group together in the busy areas and repeated his safety warnings throughout the walk. The walk through the unlit tunnel near the end of the walk was OK but might concern anybody with claustrophobia. Overall a good experience but I would have enjoyed it more if there were fewer slippery steps! Also the half hour stop at the Cafe on the journey back seemed unnecesary and added nothing to the trip as people would have wanted to get back to their hotels.

This is a moderate hiking experience but has a lot of steps up and down and is very crowded. So crowded that the beauty at the end of the hike is compromised because there isn’t room to sit and enjoy it.

Fantastic full day out. Great hike, lots of steps and an 800m tunnel to finish off. Our guide, Samuel was so knowledgeable and put safety first the whole trip.
Carlos the driver was pleasant and negotiated the busy roads well.

When the rainy weather overflowed the intended Levada hike, our guide brought us to another location. Weather was also better at this location a little farther down the mountain, and we ended up having the most beautiful hike with a rainbow view and informative information about the island’s history and nature along the way.

Really enjoyed this walk not to much uphill the views were lovely and waterfalls beautiful, mostly undercover in the trees and along the levada my favourite was walking through the 800mtr tunnel opens up onto the most beautiful view of the sea with wild Lillies

We found this to be a really enjoyable walk. Our guide Rueben was extremely friendly and took the time to explain what would happen during the walk as we arrived. As we exited the minibus however the weather was very windy and quite misty, very different from the sunny day when we had been picked up, but Rueben assured us that this would quickly improve as we dropped down - which it did.
During the walk Rueben made sure he kept the group together and provided a variety of information about the plant and bird life seen.
The walk itself wasn’t difficult, mainly downhill, but did have a short, steep series of steps about 2/3rds the way along; however people were encouraged to take this at their own pace.
The final section took us through an 800 metre tunnel which was dark and wet under foot so a torch is needed, or at least a phone light.
Overall we were really pleased to have chosen this 11k walk, we had a small group of 11 people of various ages, I was the oldest at 68, who all kept up the pace without any problems so would recommend this as a fantastic way to see a little bit more of the island in more detail but hopefully the weather will be a little bit kinder when you do it.
We would like to once again thank Rueben and Martha, who drove the minibus, for a great day out and would recommend this walk with Adventure Kingdom to anyone who has a reasonable level of fitness and wants to experience a little bit more of what Madeira has to off.

Really great hike, not too difficult for those who are moderately active. Martha was fantastic super motivated and made the hike enjoyable. It took around 2.5 hours and we had around 30 minutes to see the water fall. Luckily we went off peak and the views were fantastic. Martha explained things incredibly well along the hike! This was a beautiful hike led by Marta. She was an incredible guide and was able to manage a large group with many different levels of abilities. The hike is pretty easy for those who walk often. I would definitely book again!

Route itself was beautiful, the last part was especially good since there were not a lot of people on a way to Calheta. Guide was making stops along the way to share info so the tempo was good and not stressful

The hike was great and the views are amazing. But the tour guide was rude, condescending, and ruined the beauty of the hike. His attitude was unpleasant and acted like he was doing us a favor. I would use a different tour company next time.

It was an enjoyable walk with a good guide who provided a lot of information.
Pick up was scheduled for 8.30 but wasn't picked up till 8.55.
The walk was good and scenic with a couple of longish sets of steps and one tunnel (torch required) near the end leading out to some lovely views.
The only problem was it was very busy but I suppose these days it's to be expected !

The trip was fantastic and the guide was wonderful. It should be noted that once the hike starts there are no restrooms and the stairs are slippery. The views are amazing and should not be missed
