Don was an amazing Tour guide! We had an absolute blast before sunset and after sunset! We got to see some amazing views of the cities all around us along with the stars in the sky. Definitely would do this tour again!

Excellent experience, even for first time ATV-ers like me & my wife. Jeff was a master of the terrain, made us comfortable with the Polaris Razors (brand new BTW), and took us to a great star gazing location via the 'scenic route'. Highly recommended, even for newbies!

We had a great time on this night ride. Our guide, Russell, was awesome. We booked the "star gazing" tour and half the ride was before sun down, the other half in the dark. It felt like the actual star gazing part was a bit of an afterthought. That's not a slight against the tour - the appeal mostly is driving the UTVs of course. But just want to share an accurate review. We had a great time. The company does put a $1500 credit card hold in case you damage the UTV, which is released after return. They take photos of the machine before and after your ride. We did a similar tour with another company on this trip that did not require such a hold, but signed a liability form accepting responsibility/payment in case of damage. I know these machines are expensive but the $1500 hold seemed excessive when you are running a business based on these rides.

As for the $1,500 hold, we definitely understand where you’re coming from. These are high-performance machines and can be expensive to repair, which is why the authorization is in place. The $1,500 is simply the maximum out-of-pocket for any damage—you’re not charged for downtime or anything beyond that.

We had an amazing time! I booked this experience as an anniversary gift to celebrate our 26th anniversary, hoping to enjoy the night sky and see the stars—and it exceeded expectations. Jerry and Russell were fantastic guides who really know their constellations, which made the experience even more special. The vehicle was clean and well maintained, and the trails were an absolute blast. Highly recommend!

We had an absolutely incredible experience with Mad Moose Rentals & Tours on their Dark Sky UTV Tour—and that’s saying a lot coming from people who already own UTVs!
From start to finish, everything was top-notch. The equipment was in excellent condition—clean, well-maintained, and clearly built for a fun and safe ride. You can tell they take pride in what they offer.
And then there’s Nick… hands down one of the best guides we’ve ever had. He struck the perfect balance of fun, engaging, and professional. He made sure everyone felt comfortable and kept the energy high the entire time. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, and it shows.
The ride itself? An absolute rip-roaring blast. Even as experienced riders, we were grinning the entire time. The terrain and pacing were spot on.
One thing to note—the stargazing portion is fairly minimal, so if that’s your main focus, just set expectations accordingly. That said, the sunset stop at the “toll booths” was absolutely beautiful and ended up being a standout moment of the tour.
Overall, this was an unforgettable experience and one we’d absolutely recommend—whether you’re new to UTVs or experienced like us.
We’ll definitely be back!

Really enjoyed it. Guides were great. Vehicle was clean and well maintained. Trails were a blast. We did the night UTV ride to see the stars. Would highly recommend. My opinion, it will be more enjoyable if you have driven off road before.

This was awesome! Russell was a super guide and we felt well taken care of as well as safe. Expect no run of the mill ride, but a fast paced and thrilling adventure full of beautiful scenery and a bomb sunset.

First time UTV and WOW so much fun!! Great mix of terrain - sand dunes and rocks means you really get to push your (limited!) off-roading skills. Beautiful at sunset and the stars are great. Definitely chilly - bring gloves and warm pants. Plus they really do need you there 30 min before the scheduled tour start time!!

Cassie was an amazing tour guide and even though we had a bright moon and some clouds, she got some amazing pictures of all of us.And we had so much fun looking at the stars , we could see there's just no bad thing about this. And you can't beat the price seriously.

This was an awesome experience all the way around. While not our typical activity, we decided to give this a shot as something we would not be able to find anywhere near where we live. And we have absolutely no regrets! While we were both a little nervous starting off, we got over that quickly and sank into the rush. We chose the 7:00 p.m. tour as a chance to see the sunset and hopefully a few stars. RD delivered an experience we will never forget.
For those who don't read carefully, don't be surprised that Mad Moose is out in the middle of nowhere because you are riding in the desert, and you are driving yourself while following a guide.

This was the most exciting, adrenaline inducing, scenic adventure we have ever been on! Don H. was our guide, and he was super attentive, knowledgeable, and fun. He would ask us to do different things and take videos that he airdropped to us at the end of the excursion. He was incredible at checking in with us and reading our comfort to allow us to do really fun things like rock crawl and hit sand dunes slopes for my boyfriend, while also stopping at very beautiful landscapes to take pictures for me. It was the best experience, more than I could’ve asked for. We now want to buy our own off road vehicle! Thank you, Don and Mad Moose Rentals!

Robb was an absolutely amazing guide! Our family (2 kids, 10 & 7) did the sunset/nighttime tour and saw some incredible rock formations, sand dunes, and constellations. We had great equipment and felt safe the entire time... Not to mention we had a BLAST! I highly recommend booking anything with Mad Moose!

It was awesome! Anthony was a great! My family enjoyed the sand the most. It was a little intense at some places but we still had the best time. We saw Jupiter and Mercury. My kids loved the green laser!

Our family had an incredible adventure we will never forget. From racing in the sand to climbing huge boulders, we challenged our fears. Anthony was an excellent guide. He helped us feel comfortable and offered clear instructions for each new maneuver we would try. This is a must try for red rock memories.
