This was a great, smooth ride to Egmont key! Having 3 hours to exlpore the island and enjoy the beach was more than enough time. The crew, Robin & Tim are amazing. The offered great history/information about the area, took the time to slowdown so we can admire dolphins and manatees, and most importantly, brought us back safely. I highly recommend this ferry to Egmont.

Overall, it was a really great experience. The captain and the captains assistant were very nice and very informational. The gentleman and the lady at the booth were beyond exceptional. On the ferry ride there we got to see dolphins and I’m pretty sure I saw a sea turtle or two. Egmont key was absolutely beautiful. I would definitely go again.

Tortoises Manatees & dolphins

Charyl_F, Jul 2026
We had a great time exploring the island, lighthouse, old fort & walked the trails. Paused under the palms through a pop-up shower. That drew out many gopher tortoises. Back on the beach we watched as a couple manatees swam past. Played in the water for a good while, then relaxed on the beach, shelling for the remainder of the afternoon. Captain Zep & first mate Cody made sure that we had the opportunity for dolphin viewing while enjoying a first class play list.

Zip, Kyle and Collin were awesome guides. Highly recommend this trip. Egmont Key is a beautiful island and it is really cool to hike out to the lighthouse and old fort.

Island hop

Colon and the Captain were very helpful and made the trip well worth the investment. Very impressed by their commitment to keeping debris out of the water. Stop and salvaged numerous items from the water!! 👍

Great activity for a calm day:)

Rebecca_B, May 2026
Ferry ride is great! Snorkeling was rough due to high winds. Best to go on a calm day if you can manage it. Water is nice and warm, just lacked visibility due to weather.

Wonderful experience

Janet_K, Apr 2026
Day was wonderful! Enjoyed ride to and from Egmont Key, explored the island and then sat on the beach. Captain and crew were informative, friendly and knowledgeable.

Enjoyable for either...

Joshua_K, Apr 2026
Enjoyable for either relaxing at the beach or exploring the island. Nearly nothing of the ghost town remains, though, so don’t expect to walk among buildings. There are still signs that say what did stand there.

Fun day on the island

Jennifer_H, Mar 2026
This is the second time we’ve visited Egmont Key with our kids. We love this trip. It’s a great opportunity to get out on the water for a couple hours, and then once on the island play on the beach, look for shells, and explore the ruins for a few hours. We even got to see a few dolphins on the way back. Great day all around.

enjoyable day!

Karen_K, Mar 2026
Beautiful boat ride to and from the island. Great crew with good information about Egmont and what we would find there. Lots of shells and places to explore. Bring a lunch and enjoy the day!

Amazing experience, awesome crew!

Gargi_B, Dec 2025
The whole thing was well organized. The boat operators were super friendly and knowledgeable! We even saw some dolphins! The sweetest thing was my daughter couldn’t find I. Shark tooth in the sand, they found it and gave her one! It was so sweet of them! I will book again with them if I visit again!

Highly recommend

Ron_T, Dec 2025
The experience was a once in a lifetime! Found a 3.5” megalodon tooth, we saw gopher tortoise, found amazing shells.

Beautiful place!

Julie_V, Nov 2025
The boat ride to and from was fun and relaxing. The guides were great. We saw dolphins and rays, plus beautiful scenery. The island itself was really nice and had tons of cool history and beauty. We saw tons of tortises and found lots of shells. We packed sandwiches and drinks which worked out well for us.

Lovely day!!!

This was an absolute wonderful experience! I traveled with my hubby & 11mo old son. 10/10 would do again! Very comfortable boat ride. Captain Robin was funny and very informative. The girls stopped the boat multiple times to point out dolphins and manatees. Truly a memory my family and I will never forget.

We had a wonderful time and the Boat Crew was top notch, they took the time to give us a back ground history on the island and the surrounding area. Also they took the time to find dolphins to watch.👍👍

Pristine beaches and scenic views

lynn, Apr 2024
Going on an early ferry beat the crowds and made walking the beach very enjoyable. 3 hours was more than enough time to explore the island. Be sure to take a picture of a map of the island before you go. No brochures available.

Worth every penny.... very relaxing day!

Joe_G, Apr 2024
$50 for a ferry ride (approx 30 min each way) and nearly 3 hours on a deserted island & ecological reserve? I had an entire beach to myself, until a few others discovered it after exploring the island... worth every penny and zero regrets, or stress, after this 1/2 day trip!

Excellent Ferry Operator - Highly Recommend

PamHoltHawkins, Apr 2024
The ferry operators were excellent. They were kind and informative and fun. I especially loved that they stopped twice on the return trip to get trash out of the water. A+++ for their care about the environment and wildlife. Egmont Key itself exceeded my expectations. I loved learning about its history and the solitude of the beach. Boaters love to anchor there for the day and I can see why. There are no facilities so you should be mindful of that and the boat doesn’t stay at the island. We (my adult daughter and myself) packed our own drinks and sandwich/snacks and were fine for our time there. Overall, we had an awesome time. We saw a few turtles on the island and on the return ferry ride a large loggerhead. We would definitely return.

Excellent

Kelly_S, Apr 2024
It was a great experience loved the gopher tortoises but enjoyed the beach and just relaxing the captain of the boat Robin was excellent

Worth it

Chris_R, Apr 2024
Nice experience. Can’t remember their names, but very welcoming and accommodating. The key was interesting with a lot of history.

Quiet morning

Peter_S, Mar 2024
Enjoy being out on the key and in the quiet that it provides. We enjoyed looking for shells and hiking around the key.

Egg mont key

Gary_M, Mar 2024
The boat ride was outstanding, we enjoyed being on the ride, we will be going back again. The island was great, not enough time to see it all so look for us in the future. Loved the forts. Beach was outstanding.

Jet ski Rally

Ricardo_V, Mar 2024
Very nice experience to the whole family. The ferry staff was really helpful and friendly. The key was amazing.

Well worth the trip

Carol, Mar 2024
The island is a special experience that I highly recommend. Our ferry crew (Robin and captain Zip) were friendly and provided background information about the island. And if you enjoy looking for shells this is the place to visit. We also saw dolphins on the trip over and back from the island.

Enjoying nature’s beauty

Tammy_S, Feb 2024
We loved the beach and the history of the park. Perfect day to collect shells, enjoy nature and appreciate the past significance of the island
