This was a fun tour. The stories were interesting and the historical neighborhood had lovely architecture and a great vibe. I would definitely do it again. Tim really brought the past back to life.

All of the stories were totally new to us, were interesting, and the guide was easygoing and entertaining. Would recommend to locals and out-of-towners alike!

    2nd time!

    Stepha_S, Jun 2025
This is my second time taking this tour. I went with my family and had to go again to bring my friends. If you want to learn more about St. Louis crime history, this is so fun. We met in front of Molly's and bought some drinks at the bar for the walk around Soulard. There were 9 people in attendance. It lasted about an hour stopping along the way as they relate to the stories. Tim the guide is so passionate, you can feel it as he tells the background while showing records on his iPad bringing the tales to life. The Lincoln/Shields Bloody Island duel was a highlight, but all the stories were really interesting. Great time and highly recommend!

    Great tour! Knowledgeable guide!

    Angel_F, Jun 2025
My 15 year old son and I had a great time on this tour. Our guide was great and seemed very knowledgeable. It ended up only being us on the tour but he still gave the tour like we would have if it were a full group. The only thing I would change- add a murder or two and take out some of the historic crime, or shorten some of it to have room.

    Good stories in Soulard!

    Kelly_Z, May 2025
Great stories of local criminals and duels! Time just flew by. It was a bit rainy, but we walked anyway.

Take a chance on this tour

    John_D, Nov 2024
Our tour operator was very experienced, extremely knowledgeable about St. Louis history that he likely independently researched and is not well known, even to locals. Our tour operator was highly professional and really seemed familiar with the Soulard area. There is a great chance that our tour operator is the most interesting person in any room.

    Fun, facts, stories

    Amy_P, Nov 2024
Such a great tour! It was obvious that Tim did a lot of research to include facts into the tour. But don’t think it’s just a boring list of facts…Tim is a great storyteller, and includes photos on his iPad to enhance his stories. Highly recommend for those interested in true crime or history in general!

Cool Mardi Gras history lesson of the zoo

Great guide! Wonderful interesting stories. Great neighborhood. The meeting spot easy to get to and the neighborhood is flourishing. Go to Bogarts for early dinner, then grab a drink beforehand. 😀

    True Crime Waking Tour...

    Julie_S, Jul 2024
True Crime Waking Tour was a great stroll through some unknown stories of the past. Tim does a great job of bringing the past stories to the present and showing off Soulard at the same time.

Fun, Creative and Interesting “True Crime” Tour!

    Joanne_A, Jul 2024
I traveled from Portland to STL, meeting up with family friends for my adult daughter’s birthday and included dinner @ Molly’s and this walking tour of the Soulard neighborhood as a surprise present. Despite it being a miserably hot and humid evening, Tim provided our small group with a wonderful hour of fascinating, fun and historically knowledgeable true stories of various crimes that occurred during the prior three centuries. It was great for all of us (none were familiar with St.. Louis) to learn such fun (and oftentimes gory and hilarious) facts about the city and its history. Tim’s presentation was engaging and he had clearly done his research. And somehow, despite dripping humidity, he never seemed to break a sweat! Highly recommend to others.

    Tried Crime Storytelling was Compelling

Looking for an interesting history tour!

    Catherine_B, Jun 2024
Loved this tour. It was extremely interesting and well presented. Tim guided us through an incredible history of true crime in Saint Louis. It was a great evening. Thank you!

    Fascinating, entertaining true crime storytelling!

    Douglas_B, Jun 2024
Tim's engrossing storytelling, starting with famous St. Louis crimes from the mid 1950's and going back into its storied history, contextualizes the history of both Soulard and St. Louis as a whole amid Prohibition, the westward expansion of the United States, and numerous tensions that roiled the region and fueled the fires that boiled over into some of the most colorful crimes that merited mention during the tour. Well worth the time, and an easy stroll along the Soulard streets, especially on an enjoyable summer evening!

    Excellent Time!

    Carol_M, May 2024
The whole experience was memorable given all of the details in each of the stories. There are some stories I am going to look up to dig into further!
