Itinerary
Meet your driver at your hotel (additional cost) or from a central point in Reykjavik, then begin the 93-mile (150-km) trip to the Snaefellsnes Peninsula, a tranquil retreat from the bustling city. The first stop of the day is the Berserkjahraun lava fields that were formed over 4,000 years ago.
Then drive to Kirkjufell, a mountain peak whose name means "Church Mountain," and looms behind the scenic waterfalls at the base.
As you drive, spot Snæfellsjökull dominating the horizon, and enjoy views of the ancient stratovolcano, which is capped with a glacier. Stop at the Londrangar viewpoint to admire the rock formations.
Continue to the small fishing village of Arnarstapi for a walk along the sea cliffs and learn about the history of the Vikings.
Stop at the black sand beach of Djupalónssandur, where the rock is worn smooth by countless waves, to learn about its rich history.
Finally, begin the return trip to Reykjavik, where this tour concludes with drop-off at your original departure point.

This tour covers a lot of locations but the time at each is very limited and if you’re 5 minutes late getting back to the bus they get very mad and tell everyone on the bus about your tardiness.

Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed seeing many places on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. We understand the stop times can feel strict, but they help us keep the full tour on schedule for all guests. We appreciate your feedback and will share it with our team.

Despite the harsh wind and rain, Siggi made sure that we still had a ton of fun on this tour. There’s a lot to see and do even in the rain! Just be prepared with rainproof gear!

We did other tours and this one showed us yet another side of Iceland from the other tours. It was a long day but did not feel overly long. Our guide gave us some extra stops along the way. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly.

Our tour guide/driver HBO was wonderful and very informative. The scenery is beautiful and thankfully the weather was sunny and dry. I thought there could have been a few less stops (specifically two churches). The black sand beach was beautiful and probably my favorite stop.

It takes all day but you get to see a lot. They were slow getting everything organized but after that things went well.

Pretty places to visit when in Iceland. Guide gave us enough time to explore each places. Recommended if you want to explore this pretty peninsula.

The sites visited on the Peninsula are amazing. The vehicle is rather small and not very comfortable- very close quarters. The guide was not very informative and dry at times. It is a long day but overall worth going.

Super scenic tour with a ton of breathtaking stops! Shoutout to our guide Giuseppe and driver Pete! Giuseppe was an incredible guide who provided cool insight into the geological and volcanic history of Snaefellsnes, and his friendly but punctual attitude made for a very smooth and pleasant experience. Favorite sites were definitely Kirkjufell and Arnarstapi!

The destinations were all wonderful. Our guide Edo was so kind, knowledgeable! Especially Arnarstapi was one of the best scenery I’ve visited in Iceland.

Overall fantastic tour of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in Iceland, very dramatic landscapes with waterfalls, volcanic mountains, little rivers, dramatic cliffs overlooking the ocean and seal beaches. The only negative I would say is they are around 10 stops with bathroom breaks and sometimes felt a little rushed some of the areas we could use more times some less so just a little bit of time management concerns. Also because of the time of the tour you should bring a lunch because there is no time to stop for any restaurants on this tour. overall would
highly recommend in any tourist should see this area. The guide in the bus driver were very friendly and knowledgeable as well.
Yvonne_N, Jun 2026
The scenes were beautiful. Since it took 2 hour’s drive from Reykjavik, although the tour duration was 11 hours, the time at each spot was a bit tight.

It was great experience for the area we visited today kirkjufell mountain and few waterfalls and churches in Iceland was awesome to see.
Herb_H, Jun 2026

Our guide Axel was a very nice man. He told us a lot of facts about Iceland and the culture. My husband and I had a great time. The landscapes are beautiful and my favorite ones were Lóndrangar and Arnastapi.
Michelle_G, Jun 2026
This was the best tour during my time in Iceland! I can’t recommend it enough, if you have the chance to do the tour with Helgi I really recommend it. He was an excellent guide, funny, informative and accommodating. The snaefellsness peninsula is a must see, if you’re thinking of renting a car to do on your own don’t — join one of these tours they’re incredible.

Excelent trip, beautiful country, relaxing, educational. Driver was very reliable and tell us many stories about his country.
David_S, Jun 2026
Very friendly, very informative and gave us options. Always checked if we needed anything - toilets etc. Our driver was Helgi, very good. Gave us time limits at all stops and showed us where to go
Charlotta_H, Jun 2026
Amazing nature experience with many stops and very different sights. We saw many seals and birds and the guide was great. I mostly hate organized tours and long drives but I enjoyed every minute of this one.
Ajay_B, Jun 2026
It was a great trip . Guide was very informative and provided very deep information to know a lot more about peninsula.
Lachie_M, Jun 2026
Great tour and plenty of lavy breaks. Very comfortable bus. Knowledge guide who kept us entertained and answered all our questions. Nice one Peter.
Folk on tour should listen to guide and return promptly so we stay on schedule.
Mary_C, May 2026
The ride was long but the scenery was amazing. Plenty of stops for food and bathrooms. Wish Michael had told more about the landscapes we drove through instead of stories about murders.
Lisa_N, May 2026
Mikel was a fantastic tour guide! Very knowledgeable and funny. He made sure we had frequent restroom breaks and was mindful of the temperature on the bus. He told us the most interesting stories about the areas we visited!
Great excursion!

Enjoyed this trip and VJERAN made sure it is enjoyable and worth the money and the time. We covered a lot of places (i believe with some extra stops!). We were taken care of. Highly recommended. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The pick up was extra busy as there were multiple buses picking up in the same location so you will need to be patient. Most of the buses had the tour name on the front which was very helpful. Our tour guide was Dooley who is from Iceland and had wonderful stories not just about the history of Iceland but about his family and his childhood which really brought the area to life. The tour is very fast pace but you see so much in a short amount of time. You still have time to enjoy the scenery. Dooley also stopped at a couple extra spots which enriched the experience. He also really enjoyed the experience which helped us enjoy it more. I would definitely recommend this tour and the tour guide Dooley.

Many hours of saying “wow” while on the bus. The raw beauty of the peninsula easily beats Golden Circle or Blue Lagoon, which are nice enough but far from breathtaking. Kalman, the driver, had pretty good sense of humor and shared lots of information about the island and landmarks visited during the trip. Honestly, I think the price of the trip should be much higher than what the tour operator is charging.
