Definitely one of the best things that we did on our vacation to Iceland. Our guides Jonina and Linnea were absolutely wonderful and also gave us some recommendations on other things to do and see. It was an absolutely beautiful winter day (although a bit windy/chilly). My son (age 12) and twin daughters (age 11) rated this as the highlight of their trip.

Perfect way to end our trip to Iceland

    Michelle_M, Oct 2025
I selected this tour for my 12 year old daughter and myself because of the reviews and because it offered transportation from our hotel in Reykjavik. Simply put, it was wonderful. The guide was also the owner of the Icelandic horses. She cared for and knew each very well so was able to match us to horses that we would each feel comfortable on. She started by learning about our riding experience then selected horses for us and had us groom them to begin to establish a connection. The horses were very friendly and responsive. I've never had such a smooth, comfortable ride. We rode around the field and on a horse trail that ran parallel to the road. The guide took pictures throughout so we could just concentrate on the experience and safety. We got to trot and tilt and had a much more relaxed, comfortable experience than you get on the typical trail ride. I would engage this business again and after this, 'm impressed enough to want to come back to Iceland just to go on a multi day riding trip (tho that is not something she does. For us, having a taxi sent by the owner to take us from and back to the hotel was worth it as she is apparently sometimes not found on Google maps and more connection between her and the driver can be needed.

    Love Icelandic horses

Second horse tour with same farm. Each time gets better. Although weather can be unpredictable, still a wonderful experience. If in Iceland, you must ride and Icelandic horse. It’s a definite must.

    Wonderful Afternoon

We had a great time riding with Snjoprinsessa. My friend couldn't pronounce her name so she nicknamed her Snickers :) She's a professional rider who took us on a wonderful trail ride. The weather was beautiful and the Icelandic countryside is amazing. The horses were very gentle and we would definitely recommend scheduling this tour. Thank you!

    Outstanding for Experienced Riders

Outstanding experience as an experienced rider, the horses are so sure-footed across all sorts of terrain and varying speeds. Enjoyed the tolt and galloping up hill sides and through streams. Highly recommend!

    A must-do when in Iceland

It was an incredible experience! It was my first time riding and the instructor was excellent. I loved that it was private and I loved that she tailored the pace for me. She also snapped some amazing pictures and she knew exactly when to take the pictures. Icelandic horse riding is a unique experience and I recommend this special encounter with these beautiful animals, even if you’ve already gone horseback riding before!

    Genuine Icelandic riding experience

We were shown how to bond with the horse so they listen to your voice. We experienced the tolt and saw some amazing scenery including a lake. The ride was exhilarating and fun.

    Amazing

Great guide, awesome horses, and the views were out of this world! Definitely recommend. They were very accommodating to our changing schedules due to crazy flight delays and cancellations.

    A must do in Iceland.

The guide was nothing short of spectacular. Me, my husband and 12 year old daughter were first time riders however within minutes she had us at ease. The countryside was beautiful and the foliage was breathtaking. I would highly recommend this tour

    Wonderful riding experience

Riding guides were extremely kind and helpful. The ride itself was gorgeous and the horses were very friendly and well trained. One could tell a lot of love went into the training and care of the horses. Also being taught how to ride the Icelandic way was a fun bonus.

Loved this! Never had we been on horses, but always wanted to. Perfect first time experience. Lily, our guide was perfect. Showed us the basics, and off we went. What beautiful landscape, just gorgeous. Weather was perfect. Horses listened to command and were so easy to ride. I would definitely go back for another ride. Highly recommend, for first time of experienced rider. Love the Icelandic horses!!
