I have zero experience riding horses, so I was a little nervous leading up to this experience. The girls leading the tour were great and immediately put my mind at ease! They explained everything we needed to know about the horses and how to hold the reins. The horses were calm and knew where to walk without much direction. The scenery was beautiful, it was really cool to walk through the lava fields and even try the tolt! I definitely would recommend this experience if you’ve never ridden a horse before. Pick up & drop off made everything very convenient as well.

The ride was very fun, beautiful scenery! There was road traffic noise for part of it, but not terrible. The pickup came at 28 minutes past the time, which had us nervous, but the time on horseback was not cut short. The guides were friendly and helpful. The beginner herd did not tolt at all.
This was very well organized, I was picked up on time and transferred to the farm. The girls helping us were very organized and kind. I am a beginner so was happy to just sit on the horse and walk along some lovely trails.
The girls were kind and took photos of everyone.
Then we were transferred back to our meeting place when the ride was over.
The more experienced riders got a chance to go in a different group and go faster .
The whole experience from pick up to getting on the horses and riding was wonderful. The guides were super friendly and nice and matched me with the perfect horse. My horse and I had so much fun together as she taught me the Icelandic tölt natural gait. Very worthwhile adventure.
A nice horse ride with a good view! This was my first time riding a horse and it well. The instructors were very informative and gave clear directions. The scenery was very beautiful and they make a stop to take pictures of you and your party. Make sure you are prompt!
The tour operators were very organized and clear with their reminder communication. The guides were friendly, chatty, and very easy to be with. I would have preferred having even a short time on the horses at a pace, faster than a walk, as I wished to experience their specific gait, but I understand that the majority of the people on the tour had never been on a horse before. The trail and scenery were wonderful.

Really enjoyed the ride, especially being able to experience the Tolt. The guides were lovely and patient and, being an experienced rider, really appreciated being able to try the Tolt on my beautiful horse. Highly recommend the experience.
Great experience - the group was split at one point between more experienced riders and lesser ones and so there’s nothing to be concerned if you’re new to riding. The horses are well kept and I had a very cooperative one. The staff were excellent and were very thorough in their explanation of safety and the ride in general.

Wow! This was a really great experience. The horses were all super friendly and adorable, and we got amazing complimentary drinks as well. Our driver was very kind and fun.
This is a very well supervised experience of riding the special Icelandic horses through the beautiful red rock lava caves. Even if you have limited experience riding horses, you’ll enjoy this experience. My only disappointment was that the guides did not share any information about what makes the Icelandic horses so special. Also I would have liked if they had demonstrated for us the unique gait that these horses have.

The guides were outstanding! No matter if you are an experienced rider or a beginner, these amazing women have you covered. The horses were so much fun and very well take care of. You can tell how dedicated the guides are to their jobs. I cannot recommend this tour enough! I wish I could go back tomorrow 😀

Seamless experience from pickup to drop off. Super friendly, attentive, and fun staff. Beautiful, well behaved horses, lovely scenery, and the opportunity to split our group to beginners and advanced groups. Loved having an opportunity to experience the tolt gait. Totally worth it, and a great way to spend a few hours in Iceland.
It was a lot of fun! I would go back to do it again or maybe a even longer ride. Stjarna was the best sassy little horse!
I had such an amazing experience, from pick-up to drop-off! My hotel wasn't on the pick-up list, so I sent a message directly to the tour providers. They picked me up directly from my hotel, and all went smoothly. This was the first time I'd been on a horse in over 50 years, so that also had me a little nervous. Getting on the horse was the only difficult part, but the guides were there to help. Once I was in the saddle, my sweet horse and I became fast friends! She listened well, and our walk down the guided path was so beautiful! The guides even took pictures of me and my friends on our horses at a scenic location along our route. Everything was perfect, and I would definitely go again!
Did this horse riding experience on my last full day in Iceland after an amazing 13 day trip.
Friendly horses, all safety was reviewed & guides were terrific with checking & then re checking our saddles, reins etc before return ride back to farm.
Beginner friendly rides. Nice slow pace for those that need and a little quicker gait if out in front.
I will say I was impressed over safety checks & making sure everyone was in correct helmet sizes, horse size & temperament etc
Tour is only about 2hrs and that is a perfect little 1 1/2 hr ride with a transport van for the 15/20 mins drive time from Reykjavik.
I haven't been back on a horse in quick a few years and I was completely comfortable doing this tour.
I was orginially going to do this when I first arrived in Iceland but decided to do at end of my trip instead and glad I did as my butt bones were a bit sore the following day.
It is a nice little walk through the country side, seeing the lava rock up close.
The guide stops at that location and does free photos on everyone's camera for you.
After the tour you are offered tea & coffee for those that wish.
You can definitely tell these ladies are dedicated to their jobs and are very protective, passionate and proud of their beautiful horses.

amazing trail ride! They stop and take pictures for you which is nice. Very beautiful view. They take very good care of their horse horses as well.
What a fun and beautiful ride. We were picked up at the cruise port by Kasha. We drove to the stables out in the countryside. They had everything we needed for the ride. Helmets of course, rubber boots if you needed plus waterproof jackets for rain if you wanted. The Icelandic horses are small, gentle and sure footed.
All the tour leaders were very knowledgeable and instructed us all in basic horsemanship, adjusted the stirrups etc. We rode for probably 90 mins in all. Taking in all the Icelandic landscape beauty. We stopped half way for a photo op, much appreciated. I highly recommend this activity. You dont need to be Lester Piggott for this ride !!
We had a wonderful experience with this stable and its guides. Our family ranged fe beginner to experienced riders. We were divided into two groups and all of us were pleased with our rides. We all went on the same trail but one group did get to tolt and the other did not which worked well for each of us. The terrain is gorgeous and the guides (all women on our trip) made us all feel welcome and comfortable with our horses. They checked in with each rider frequently to make sure was well. The horses were lovely and seemed well cared for. I would recommend this stable and the tour if you travel to Iceland.
It was amazing views. You really enjoy the nature. Horses were friendly and easy to ride. My fiancé has never ridden - beside redirecting the horse from eating - no issues
If you are a beginner, they will take good care of you. The horses were well behaved, the trail was beautiful: through fields of lupines and through red, rocky lava fields. The path was smooth and easy to navigate. Ilsa picked us up and did our tour: she was warm and friendly! She took pictures of us too so which we appreciated!
Three generations of family rode and had a blast! All levels of riders can enjoy this experience. Phenomenal horses. Amazing scenery.

The ponies are awesome and In good condition. They let the more experienced riders do some tolting.. guides are great and from all over....wonderful time!
Best trail ride experience so far. Good length, mostly flat, picturesque. Guides informative and nice! Worked for first time riders and experienced.
Lovely experience and a great way to see some of the countryside of Iceland. I highly recommend and would do it again
