We had the best day! Walter met us early at the cruise pier and we beat the crowds to the amazing sights on the Golden Circle. Walter's van was comfortable and neat. He also brought us to a delightful lunch place where we had delicious bread and homemade tomato soup. It was a day we will never forget!

We had a wonderful day seeing the Golden Circle. Walter our guide was knowledgeable and great company. He even took us to a couple of surprise spots that were not on the agenda but were custom cut to our interest that he learned while driving us. Especially stopping and feeding some Icelandic ponies what a treat. The views were breath taking, the weather was clear and sunny and Walter's knowledge about the places he took us was welcome. Thank you for a wonderful tour of the Golden Circle.

Our tour guide Walter yesterday was a super nice guy, was on time, recommended a great lunch and got us to where we needed to go within the specified time frames. However, he did not speak good enough English for us first time visitors and he really did not "tour" us, only taxied us. He would drop the six of us off at a site and tell us where to meet him, but did not give us any history or information about the site. We finally loaded a self guided GPS tour on his Bluetooth. Again Walter is a super nice guy and would be a satisfactory taxi driver, but we paid way too much money for that experience.

Tour was very enjoyable enjoyable. Itinerary was perfect length, and the sights were amazing! Lunch at the Tomato Farm was wonderful--delicious food and interesting location. Our tour guide was very pleasant, if a bit reserved. Wish he would have offered some more information and stories about what we were seeing.

Golden Circel Redux, i.e. Part II

This was our second time we did this tour, both booked with Viator. Walter, our guide, was superb, and quickly adapted to our modified version of what we wanted to see, i.e. deleting the volcano crater walk and spending more time elsewhere. He also had time at the end to add an often unseen waterfall which was very nice. The main geyser at Geysir is slowing down, try to watch at least 4-5 eruptions to get a tall one, the others will be short to medium. Stand on the uphill side or back side, that allows you to see the water up-welling several times in the center, which foreshadows an eruption. We use the video mode on our phones to capture the entire sequence and then at home take frame shots to allow the photobook to have a succession of stills showing this wonderful experience. Gullfoss has both an upper and a lower level, both should be viewed. If the wind blows the 'wrong' way, the lower trail has a section which gets more than mist, if will be a drizzle, that happened on our first visit two years ago but not this time. At the National Park, at the very bottom of the paved trail, there is a small waterfall with a hiking path to the top that can be done. We chose not to do it, yet again, to have time elsewhere, but would recommend it - it was supposedly a diversion that was made to funnel water into the stream and small rapids you cross on the path downhill for some historic meeting of dignataries. We remain curious what it looks like on top.

The tour covered the highlights of Golden Circle. A must tour to do when in Iceland. The tomato farm is a very good place to visit. Found out that advance reservation is a must thing to do if you want a seating to eat lunch there. Our tour guide/ driver was very accommodating despite of the elements that my group had to tackle. Iceland weather is very unpredictable. For some reasons, the rain started every time we had to visit a place then it will stop after my group completed the visit. We were always wet during the tour despite of having the rain gear on. High winds and rain affected our trip. However, despite of the weather the tour guide/driver brought our group back to hotel safely. Thanks Viator and Taxi for giving us the chance to see the gems of Iceland.

A terrible Tour

I got very little information. We were jammed into a Tesla. At lunch he took us to a place and said go to the bar and then he disappeared. The only option at the bar was tomato soup which he didn’t tell us and we couldn’t ask questions because he just disappeared. He gave us no history or info about where we were. This was not a tour. This was a taxi ride. I will tell all traveling friends to never use Viatour. I basically wasted $1300 dollars. You should have someone contact me

Walter was an excellent, professional, and informative guide. He took us to: Thingvellier National Park, the Geysers, Gullfoss Falls, Efstidalur Farm for ice cream and coffee, the 'Secret Lagoon', Kerid Crater, and Fridheimar Restaurant for an amazing lunch. A private tour is the only way to stop and see highlights, and spend as little or as much time as you want.
