Fantastic class Vanessa was warm and hospitable, cracking sense of humour. Our class was small and consisted of 4 people so was very hands on. We made 5 Natas each which we got to eat fresh out the oven and take the remaining ones home with us. Vanessa kept us well hydrated with iced tea and wine to keep us going through the class Would 100% recommend

Unfriendly host

Annerita_V, Mar 2026
Viator changed the meeting point the morning to direct us directly to the venue. So yes we were 5 minutes late. We accept. But the host at the door was extremely rude. Will not reccomend a company who is rude to tourists. No smile to say I am sorry you are late. Just a bold face to say I cant let you in. A smile and to say please can you reschedule would have been nice.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Hello, Please don't confuse reinforcing compliance with our booking and participation policies with being rude. At the start of the activity, you sent us a message saying that you were climbing many stairs and would therefore arrive 10 minutes later, to which you were informed that would not be possible. About 10 minutes later you arrived (not 5 minutes late) and insisted on entering, claiming that Viator had changed the meeting point. This is impossible, the meeting point is the same for all clients and was not changed by us or Viator. Entry was denied, and once again, not yielding to your demands is not being rude. After that, you contacted us again by message saying that the reason for arriving late was because you fell on the way to the location. In other words, from the first moment you tried everything to cover up the breach of the participation rules and, since we follow the rules, you considered us rude. Our rules are clearly stated before and after the reservation is made; it is not possible to enter after the class has started. We will not make exceptions as this affects the logistics and quality of the activity for both the hosts and the clients who respect the rules. Best regards

Sooo fun! Great group of people we met while making the famous nata. The instructor was upbeat and made the class enjoyable with her positive energy! Would definitely recommend. Did it on a rainy day but would do it rain or shine. One of the most memorable things we did in Porto! Great time!! Thanks!

Best (most fun) cooking class in Porto!

Cameron_C, Mar 2026
Very fun, comfortable, yummy, and FRIENDLY!! A plus is I can do this at home - in fact, I’ll make a party of it!

Absolutely recommend doing this!

Fantastic experience. Would highly recommend. Ana was absolutely fabulous - she really made our visit majestic. And the pastel de natas were really tasty too!

Tasty Introduction to Porto

Natasha_G, Mar 2026
Vanessa, our teacher was absolutely wonderful. My friend and I have zero experience with baking (and are disastrous at cooking in general) but her demonstration and explanations were so easy to follow - we were really able to get involved in the process. We had some tasty Vino Verde while baking, which was a great introduction to Portuguese wine. We came away with 25 pastel de natas (it was just us in that session) and I can attest that they were quite tasty because I ate about 5 at one go. The 2.5h flew by because we were having such a great evening - I would definitely recommend this to anyone that loves sweet treats, wine and wants to do something different.

Amazing experience baking with Vanessa! Not only was she informative when baking Pastel de Nata, but her sense of humour kept our class entertained. We were very lucky as there were only 3 of us in our class. We all enjoyed the experience! I would highly recommend this activity to anyone traveling to Porto! I will definitely use this recipe to make Pastel de Nata at home!
