A wonderful experience began on a rather hidden cobblestone street that led off the Main Street. We were warmly welcomed to our work table. Each space was prepared with the supplies to create our tile. Our teacher was very knowledgeable of the history of the Portuguese tile creative painting process—encouraging and supportive. Breathe. Create. Dispel perfection. Take a sip of port. Take home a beautiful tile that holds the memories of a beautiful morning in Porto.

We had SO much fun with Pedro. We learned about the history and the techniques for making the tiles, as well as enjoying a fun atmosphere. 100% would go back again!

It was aweful. The instructor had a bias towards us and did not teach us how to properly complete the project, leaving us to try to do it ourselves. My husband just stopped completely because the racism was very obvious. The instructor taught others one on one, provided support, engaged in side bar conversation but when speaking to me he was cold, short, harsh toned and overall unpleasant. I am disbursed by this class as it was the first time I ever had a problem. I will be seeking a full refund or disputing with my credit card company.

Very fun experience, however I will say that there was quite a large group both to my partner's left and to our right that were extremely loud during the entire activity - so much so, we couldn't hear the instructor very well most of the evening. I could also sense the frustrations from the other 2 girls that came alone across the table. Perhaps with a group of 8+ people it might be better for them to schedule their own session (?) Additionally, it was a shared space with their other class, which made it a pretty loud environemnt untilt he other class had finished, maybe putting up a folding wall etc. between the two would keep it a little quieter for those who wanted to 1. hear the instructor and 2. not become immensely overstimulated during what is supposed to be a relaxing painting experience.

A lovely experience to do in Porto. Rita was so friendly, gave the right amount of historic information & gave really clear instructions on the best way to paint the tiles. Her ability to jump between English, Portuguese & Spanish was very impressive! A beautiful souvenir from a trip to Porto

The instructions were easy to follow and our instructor was very knowledgeable. We were with people from 4 different countries that made the whole experience very enjoyable. My tile came out better than I expected.

Friendly, approachable workshop hosted in English. Participants get to choose a design, trace it onto a tile using wax paper, and then paint the tile with a range of colors to choose from a great way to get a tile souvenir when visiting Porto.

It was a great activity to do with like minded travellers and if it is raining .You don't need to know how to paint. You pick the pattern you want to paint and trace on the tile. Brush strokes techniques are shown in the class. It was exciting to see everyone's completed tile. Be aware you need to come back after the class e.g. approximately 1.5 hrs to collect the baked tile. So leave enough time in the day for the return visit. This activity is for all ages.

What a fun way to express your artistic side! The instructor was so knowledgeable and even mixed 3 paints together to make an orange color for my tile. She really knows her colors and is able to explain it very very well. Would highly recommend this activity to all!

Wonderful! Bea is warm funny & helpful and was engaged with everyone. It was such a comfortable setting and felt relaxing despite having limited artistic experience. She also gave a lot of information about the history of tiles in Portugal! I loved it & my husband who didn’t sign up was welcomed to stay and really enjoyed learning. We are looking forward to having the tile be a unique momento.
