The Porto Bridge Climb is a guided tour that allows visitors to walk along the arch of the Arrábida Bridge while attached to a safety harness. It’s the only bridge climb in Europe, and offers magnificent views over Porto, Gaia, and the Douro River.

The Porto Bridge Climb is open to adults and children aged 12 and above, and it’s suitable for anyone who can climb stairs independently. It’s a slow and relatively easy climb, ascending 262 steps and walking across a 26-foot (8-meter) wide concrete arch while securely attached to a safety harness.

The entire experience at the Porto Bridge Climb typically takes 40 minutes. After a safety briefing, slowly ascend the steps with your guide and group of up to 13 other climbers, enjoy time at the top to admire the views and take photos, and then descend along the same route.

Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing, as you’ll be exposed to the elements on the bridge, and closed-toe shoes, such as sneakers. For safety reasons, flip-flops and high-heeled shoes are not allowed, and it’s important to secure any loose clothing or other items that could fall during the climb.
